I wanted to get it repaired before I saw him again so that he didn't know any of the crystals had fallen out. First, I took the bracelet to a jewelry store in the mall. This was apparently a bad idea. I left the bracelet with the jeweler at the mall. After a week, I had still not heard back on a price quote. Finally a week later, they told me it would cost $40 to repair it. I thought this was nonsense! I went back to the mall and said no way am I paying $40 to put in three tiny crystals. I decided to try Goldsmith next because of a large billboard I had seen. I drove there and noticed how beautiful the building was. I walked inside and was immediately greeted and helped. Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly and helpful. Jordan and Kristen helped me. They took the bracelet, examined it and told me they could fix it for $15. I was sold. It was fixed in 2 days and I came back to the store and it was perfect. Excellent service, prices, and repairs. Goldsmith is the only jeweler in town that I will go to from now on.

We were trying to get a one-off, very expensive and collectible ring with allot of American history behind it, appraised, and three of the four Jewelers had no clue whatsoever as to what they were looking at, and it was obvious that they did not have the expertise to even give us what we already knew about the massive, old, ruby. After them, the next local place we took it had an owner study the gem. It was obvious from 8-feet away when he looked at it closely, that he knew full well what it was, and its value. Then, turned around and blatantly lied to us about it, and tried to buy it for nearly nothing. That place is well known and runs allot of local commercials. It was a pawn shop level experience. After all that, finding Shane was literally a GOD send, and I'm a Rabbi, I would know.. Initially we brought Shane three good size ruby rings, all very old, between 1 and 3 karats. There's allot to know about ruby stones, they have special telltale signs within the stones which prove their age and providence, IF you actually know your business, which obviously the major Jewelers do not. Literally, with one short glance Shane knew, 100%, exactly what they were; then we showed him the big ring, again, he instantly knew exactly what every stone was, in detail. THAT is when we knew we found the right man. After Shane received the ring back from GIA for the ultimate certification of the massive Ruby and other diamonds, he not only provided an exceptional appraisal service on that special ring, and although it's special, American providence was not expected to be taken into consideration within the appraisal, he further advised that due to it being literally irreplaceable, and having no other ring out there, or separate stone for sale in public view of that size ruby to compare, that it is most likely worth double the appraised value. It was unexpected, but Shane also cleaned and polished the old ring so beautifully. It's not worth quite a million bucks, but now it surely looks like it. At that time I was already in the market for some jewelry for my sisters, and had my eye on something at yet another local Jewelry store, but after seeing Shane's custom work, I purchased two other pieces from him for my sisters. Shane does incredible work. In summation, obviously, I highly recommend Shane Berkman over any and all local jewelers for anything, big or small. I've been around the world several times and certainly around the block, and I know old-school knowledge and experience when I see it, and that, in a nutshell, is what I found in Shane. Our experience there did not inspire trust in their customer service attitude…read more Several years ago I gave my sister a Citizen Eco Drive solar powered watch with a 5-year warranty purchased from a reputable dealer in our area. When it stopped working last year, she took it to Montague's in Billings and they sent it to Citizen for repair. Finally she was told that Citizen had reported it couldn't be fixed because the parts were unavailable. Then the manager sold her a new watch (unfortunately she told them the maximum she could pay--$120--first) for that exact amount and said it was half price. It was a very plain, traditional, battery powered watch and she didn't get any paperwork or warranty on it. It was a brand we don't recognize and for which we can find no information online. He only told her he would give her new batteries for life--but hey, she's in her mid-eighties now! While we were visiting her in Billings last month, we went to Montague's and asked for her Citizen watch back so I could take it to my original vendor's watchmaker, who keeps older parts and might still be able to fix it. The Montague's manager told us he had thrown it away because it couldn't be fixed. My sister had not been asked for her permission to do this, so I was upset and complained. From the get-go we thought the manager acted defensive and arrogant, and never apologized for throwing away a customer's property without permission. And we still have unanswered questions about the watch he sold her. I can only hope there are other employees in this long-standing Billings business who show more respect for legitimate customer complaints.

We were assured that it would not be a problem not to have my wife's ring inspected every 6 months. No problem; we'll cover the warranty. Well, 2 years and 5 months after our wedding a diamond fell out of my wife's ring. First off, should this really happen after such a short time? We called the store and they said sorry we can't honor the warranty since it wasn't inspected. Feeling pretty disappointed with that decision. Update: After posting this review and on Riddles Facebook page Riddles Jewelry contacted me and offered to make it right. They have since repaired my wife's ring under the warranty. They also offered to allow us to take the ring to Riddles every 1 year instead of 6 months going forward. Rebecca the Manager in billings that contacted us was very friendly and helpful. About two weeks after sending it off we now have the ring repaired and it looks great. Thanks to Rebecca for getting it done.

We went in just looking at rings and Jeff came up to help us. He was fantastic. He was super helpful. He let us look and then based on what we were liking gave us some suggestions and he found the perfect ring for us. He then took the time to discuss diamond options for the center stone and what all the ratings meant. He let us look at the loose diamonds and see how beautiful they were. He discussed his payment options and took the time to write everything we needed down so we could come back when we decided that was definitely the one. We chose to get the protection plan that include free cleanings whenever you want, free repairs, replacements for lost diamonds. The whole ten yards! When she walked away he took the time to sneak in the question of when I wanted the ring by. I gave him a short time frame of only a few days. He said of course we can have it done since they have their own goldsmith on site. He then helped me lie to her and say it would be a month or so before it was ready so I could pull off the perfect surprise.
