It's an industrial bakery serving North West England. They do a complete range of savoury and sweet goods. This bakery is a favourite of Tony P but I prefer Greggs for their cheap savoury food and coffee.
This one is in the centre of the pretty, tiny town of Sale Moor, there's one in Sale itself and Altrincham.
We bought potato cakes as we often do (these are very good indeed and 5 star) and pastries. Tony P has said he will try the potato cakes (we call them potato bread). We fry potato bread in oil for a few minutes each side or toasted and buttered but it has to be well toasted.
I tried a millefeuille type pastry with a white sugar icing top with a solid tasing custard in the middle.
I wouldn't buy or try another. It was sweet but there's no real quality about the vegetable fat and not flaky pastry or the stodgy custard. I tried an Apple square. I might have another one sometime but while the pastry was alright the apple was stewed in copious white sugar and out of a tin. I will try savoury stuff next time and update. read more
