I was able to find a study carrel where I could power up laptops and get some work done (and Yelp reviews written) instead of trying to work from the van when it's just too darned hot. Plenty of space, lots of different areas to sit and study including some rooms that could be reserved. You do not need to be a local resident to use the library, only to borrow materials. They would not accept this because they wanted to charge me $37.00. If you do venture there hold onto your wallet. i have lived in many states and this is the worst library ever. I will never patronize them again.

This weekend is Family Weekend! We checked in on west campus (our daughters apartment is here) & went to the cookout & baseball game (yikes, we lost), but a great & beautiful day it was!! Hung around Milly for the afternoon (see other reviews). Great to hang with our girl!! Stayed at Holiday Inn, at at the brick & bowling at Lake Country Bowling.

There are other campus locations several miles away that you cannot walk to. A shuttle will transport you or choose to drive yourself as many people do. The campus buildings are well maintained and students are helpful when you do get lost. Labs and facilities along with faculty are top notch. I was very impressed with the quality from my perspective. I would highly recommend this institution over others in the State of Georgia.

Little town of Jackson, GA... another stop after a series of twists and turns on our summer road…read moretrip of 2022. This little town was one of several places we park the truck and trailer so my kids could visit some of the filming locations for Stranger Things and The Walking Dead. Several scenes from stranger things were filmed here around the town Square... if you're a fan of the show, you probably remember the big fight in the alley, or the army surplus store, or the RadioShack, or even where hopper works. It was this last place that made the Jackson-Butts library a memorable spot for us. Interestingly, there is still a Confederate soldier statue standing in front, not yet torn down. Time will tell, I suppose. Aside from featuring some places you've seen on TV, the whole little town is pretty cute, with shops and restaurants starting here in there. Many of the local stores embrace their notoriety from Netflix, while others seem to dismiss it all together. Either way, we enjoyed our brief stop here, walking around like slack-jawed yokel's, mildly starstruck and amused at the novelty of it all. I can't imagine a future where I will travel back along these scenic byways and two lane roads to visit Jackson, Georgia... But I suppose that if we leads to weigh, and I do find my way back, That would not be such a bad thing. Hell, maybe I'll be in the witness protection program, and they'll drop me here. Oops, scratch this one off the list...

The most popular event in the library is the use of computers (about 50?) Most of the tables for reading are empty, because people today are not readers of books, but of online article headlines.
