It's probably a good idea to bring at least $20.00 if you plan on stocking up on produce. The produce is always so fresh and flavorful. I'd highly recommend getting some sugar snap peas when the summer season rolls around. They are so sweet and crunchy. I've also bought many other things like cheese curds, honey, maple syrup, flowers, and baked goods. Everything is such great quality. Parking can be difficult to find, so I'd recommend going to the farmer's market right when it opens. You'll also get better pick of the produce if you head there right at 8:00 a.m. The farmers market was located along the river years ago and I wish they still held it there. The parking lot that it is currently held in can get a little cramped. You're also ushered clockwise around the loop, so you can't really go back to a booth without making another whole lap.

It had a fun and lively atmosphere right next to downtown and it was pretty easy to park down the road. I wish there were more produce and fruit options but I think that is just due to it being early in the season. They had some vegan and GF prepared food stands which was nice to see! I went over to another farmers market a few miles south to give them time to get rolling and I would return. I returned around 9:30 and to my amazement it didn't any bigger really but I walked around it and saw coffee stand, soap, two food stands, lots of flower, lots of leafy greens and root vegetables, jewelry, meat and cheese stand. I think maybe 25 stands at the max and absolute no fresh fruits at all. This was a pretty small farmers market with no fruits on my visit and I ended up leaving empty handed and I probably will not return because the Milwaukee area has a couple better farmers market options.

The farmers market is in downtown next to the library that has a free parking lot that was full. This is your typical farmers market with lots of fresh vegetables and next to no fruits but I did find a peach stand. The peaches were $10 a bag so I hope that they are really good because it's about $3.77 a pound. The market had a bbq stand and a cafe to snack on while you're there which I didn't have because I just left my breakfast spot. Nothing really grabbed me except the peaches so I didn't leave empty handed. I saw meat stands, dairy stands, fresh eggs, popcorn, jewelry, chiropractics, honey, root veggies, baked goods, cheese, flowers, soaps etc etc. This was a nice find and a well rounded farmers market but my standard complaint, very little fresh fruit because I always have fresh fruit at home more than veggies.

I also got some all natural skin lotions from the goat milk lady and some body butter from the honey vendor. I am going back for more to last me through the winter. Many more, too many to mention. It is fun to try different things each week.
