This is a sushi place by Joel Robuchon, and as one would expect - they have really eclectic sushi options. For a vegearian, it is perhaps not the best sushi but if you eat meat & fish - I would highly recommend coming here and trying a few different types of sushi. They are some sushi which are also available by the piece as well. To add, this place is fairly reasonable. My boyfriend ordered a portion of each the foie gras and truffle sushi and I ordered a portion of the cucumber and avocado sushi. Both of us loved our sushi!

We enjoyed a moderately priced bottle of French red; perfect with our meal. We ordered miso soup and the salad and bento box vegetables were delicious. Gosh, the tempura shrimp and grilled salmon were scrumptious. Can't wait to enjoy another meal here

A new Japanese restaurant in Nice…read more It is in a street where we do not think of going to find a restaurant that is this new Japanese restaurant Amada. We arrive in a small room, with a simple and appropriate decoration. The welcome and the service are very satisfactory. The card is restricted enough. The menu consists of a first dish, a dish and a dessert, if my memory is good this one is approximately 35EUR. À la carte is only dishes and desserts but no first dish. Great restaurant, too bad that the card is so restrictive.

This was a huge, huge disappointment and extreme waste of money. We ordered the sashimi platter and…read moresalmon sashimi (about an hour ago) and got it for take out as we are backpacking through Europe and needed a night in and some light food. We read good reviews so our lovely concierge ordered the food for us in French. Delivery only took 40 mins or so, but maybe had we just walked we would've gotten the size pieces all the reviews show. The pieces were hardly half a size of a typical piece of sushi (which we've had all over US, Canada and Europe) and a lot of the fish smelled fishy. They counted one rolled up piece of fish as four pieces. If you look at the pictures, I think most would agree that does not look like 42€ worth of food nor 38 pieces of sashimi. I feel this may have happened to us being tourists, but we were super polite and our hotel concierge was very professional, so it's pretty sad they seemed to think they could rip off someone doing take out they knew were from out of town. I don't recommend them for that reason; that says a lot about the type of business being run.

Their is nothing extraordinaire about this place and I thought the prices were a little on the pricey side. We ordered the star roll, an order of California salmon, et 3 orders of sushi salmon. I decided to get a pho or wonton soup to soothe my throat and happened upon this place due to the jazz music coming a club across from Zen. It's kind of a 'Benihana' tepanyaki place if you are from the US. Anyway, they had Udon soup, so I decided to give it a try. Good soup. Noodles were not over cooked, a few shrimp, some 'Krab' strips, and a nice addition of crispy pork strips. Broth was just OK, didn't taste like some of the broths that have been stewing for hours and hours, but then why would it, since this place does not specialize in Udon. So if you are looking for a nice hearty soup because you are not feeling well, or just want something light, for 8 euros, I highly recommend Zen. Service is good and they speak English.

Four stars for the food, there was maybe a tiny TINY bit left to be desired, but the staff and ambiance were so nice! The dining area is small and cozy with lower ceilings and warm dark colors. The food was great. I will try not to give away too much! The amuse bûche was one of my favorite parts of the meal, an explosive and umami filled little candied tomato, I could eat 1 million of these. The salad and lamb were my next two favorite dishes, I absolutely savored them. Close your eyes and have your Ratatouille moment, let those flavors slide, melt and firework into your brain. The dessert was the only portion I was even a tiny bit less content with it was NOT bad, tangy, light, with creaminess and good acidity from the strawberries, and while I was sort of intrigued I won't say I was totally delighted. The staff and chef were so polite and wonderful (even when my table mates were arguably a little too gregarious) and they really made every moment feel like they were specially curated for me. Thanks for a great and delicious experience.
