Eventually, he said he would charge us nothing today, my daughter could get her surgery done, and he looked at me and said, "...and you can just be happy." I said, "That is condescending," and we were kicked out of his office. My daughter was in tears, and he told her he was going to call her dentist and say she is no longer welcome in this office because of her mom and then refused to speak to her privately. My daughter was already concerned about Dr. Green due to reviews that said he wasn't patient with people who didn't like needles (they said he told them to suck it up or leave). Based on our interaction with him, I would say any reviews that mention his lack of patience are most likely factual. My teenage son had his wisdom teeth out there as well over the winter. No problems or issues whatsoever by my son or me. The staff is nice, and honest about after care or billing. Again, this needed to be told to us up front as we have never been charged for this out of pocket by any other specialists given the cost of service we end up receiving. Given this My wife and daughter left an hour after we arrived without seeing the doctor. Absolutely terrible experience and customer service. Very unprofessional and lacking in transparency and communication. They were very adamant about my wife taking her herself, yet negligent in communicating fees or seeing us in a timely manner. I was seen within one day of my phone call and the surgery was two days later. The day of surgery I was extremely nervous but Dr. Merkel took the time to reassure me that the tip removal would take only two minutes and be totally pain free. He was true to his word and it took longer for the novicane to take effect than it took for him to remove the root tip. I as in and out within obe half hour. Son had wisdom teeth extraction. They did not supply a quote until 2 days prior to procedure, even…read morethough I requested one twice, several weeks in advance. Any time I needed to call them, had to call multiple times due to no one answering phone. On day of procedure before starting, discussed an impacted tooth and that they could expose and move said tooth since they were already in his mouth. They never said it would have an additional charge until after the procedure was done then said they would advise of amount after sending to insurance. 1.5 weeks later I get a bill for nearly $1,300.00 which was more than I paid for the 4 wisdom teeth to be removed. They refused to discount the additional charges, which were not covered by insurance. They only supplied a little gauze for after care. Other surgeon offices provide enough gauze for full aftercare as well as ice packs. I was treated as if this place only wants your money, they do not care about the patient or treating people like human beings. They also switched the location from where I made the appointment, but no one told me this until the day before when they called to go over what to do before coming in.

Your typical dentist office would have magazines, well THIS office had computers and playstations for people to use while they wait. I had a free consultation, and Whitney, the treatment coordinator was super nice. I felt like I had known her forever, and she made sure to explain everything to me and answer any questions I had. At some point during this consultation, Dr. Oltjen came in to meet me. He thoroughly explained the process for Invisalign as well as Ceramic braces. He also gave (what I felt like) was an honest opinion about which treatment I should get based on my case. Also, this is one of the few offices who don't charge extra money for Invisalign (yess, that's a PLUS!) The only downside I had was the price. Yes, orthodontic work is expensive anyway, but this office was significantly more expensive than other offices. However, I really wouldn't mind paying extra ...their service was just that good!

I've been to the office at least a half-dozen times and I can say with confidence that I haven't waited more than 10 minutes collectively. That means a lot--we all have responsibilities, and sitting at an office doing nothing is infuriating. That doesn't happen here! You can tell that Dr. Oltjen and his team watch every aspect of this office's operations so they can make improvements continuously. Though they are always on schedule and get you out of there promptly, you never feel rushed. I appreciate that they use technology to their advantage. You can get reminders via email or text. During the pandemic. They have sent a little survey a day or two before. They ask about your health, travel, etc. to ensure everyone stays safe. I'm very pleased with the results, too. It's crazy that little hunks of plastic can move your teeth. Wearing them really isn't a big hassle, and it has been well worth the time and the cost.
