After taking the train to Malmö, the first thing my Swedish friend suggested was coffee. He said…read morethey drink lots of it there, and there was a good spot right in the city center square.
We walked in and I noticed it was really cool, date I say Swedish hipster. Small in space, but with ample room to sit (as well as outdoor seating), it was also very clean and crowded.
Once I saw the menu I knew what I needed. Not just from curiosity, but because nowhere else have I ever been that a place had a drink called a Biggie Smalls (an espresso along side a latte)!
Not only am I fan of his music, but so was the coffeeshop owner. He had some great music playing in the coffeeshop (soul, funk and breaks).
A steal at $5, i was surprised to see instantly how much more affordable Sweden was than its neighbor Denmark, only 15 miles away. It was quite drastic.
The coffee was delicious, and the barista is serious about his craft. He wears an apron, but clearly knows and cares about what he is doing- not like a lot of people you see just dressing the part.
I will be back to Malmö again someday, and I have a feeling I will be back to drink another coffee here.
