Every cat/kitten we have gotten in aprox last 20 yrs even got a puppy once Sam, short for Samantha…read more(when she did a bad thing). This is the BEST place to adopt a cat or kitten. When I hear someone mention they are looking a a cat/kitten, I tell them of Another Chance adoption, tell them where they are located. Next time I see the person they say "m Thanks for telling me about Another Chance We got our next family member there" Then they tell others. The cat we have now is 1 of theirs & hope she lives forever, She follows me everywhere, sleeps with me. She is an inside cat only, Hubby built her a cage that she goes in & out thru cat door. That is only time she is out. doesn't try to go out thru kitchen door, she knows she can't go so she will just look. she is the BEST. She is6 yrs old now so she (I hope) has many more to go.

We adopted our kitten from ACAR last June at an adoption event. My husband and I found our kitten…read moreright away based on the knowledge of the staff present at the event. It was very clear that everyone working at the event knew all the kittens and their personalities and had interacted with all of them. We ran into a problem when we brought our kitten home and realized she began sneezing and coughing. She had a serious infection and we had to make several trips to the vet to get her the proper medication, but ACAR paid for all of the medication and vet fees. My advice to anyone considering adoption from this shelter would be to take your new kitten to your own vet before bringing her home and exposing her to other pets/small children. Our kitten is now happy, healthy, and a very important part of our family. We can't imagine our lives without her! An added bonus is that the adoption fee includes spay/neuter for your kitten, as well as all necessary vaccinations!

It was a Boxer, and we have owned several .Actually showed one in Obedience. Own our own home, and semi retired, with excellent vet references. Had 2 successful visits, but when we brought our Pom puppy, she was not friendly and unwilling to play. She gets car sick so was out of sorts already. Second visit was a little better. So thats 5 times we had already been there. We were told we could " come as often as it would take by a staffer names Robyn. The 6th visit we were told the dog was in"medical quarantine" and they'd let us know when we could come again. They never did and his pic was removed several days later. We were sad, but hoped he had gotten a good family. That hope was dashed yesterday when we actually ran into the new adopter, a disheveled young man with no teeth. We are stunned, and wondering how this fellow, who cant afford dental work, can afford a pure bred dog susceptible to cancer and Degenerative Myeolpathy. Our hearts break for this beautiful dog. My hubs actually also passed him on the North/South road because the dog had his head out the car window. Vermont plates so I hope he was thoroughly vetted. We've adopted from other rescues, but will pass on Conway in the future. We felt dismissed and disrespected.

I had a great experience adopting our kitten here. My wife and I visited one of their adoption…read moreevents and the volunteers/staff there were very helpful in choosing the best kitten for us. The application process was smooth and efficient. Price was reasonable and our kitten received all of his needed vet care, shots, etc before he came home with us. Found their website and emailed them and called as I could not fill in the application from my computer. They replied, mentioned and sent a picture of Jolene, a beautiful black/white 2 yr. old tuxedo female cat. Had a meet and greet at the foster moms home and Jolene and I had an instant connection. She was purring, rubbed up against me, talked. It felt as if we had known each other for ever. Jolene was a perfect companion for me and Jolene was mine before I left the home. I picked her up at the Petco store in Plaistow, NH, filled out the paperwork, bought furniture, food, toys and things Jolene would need. She is my baby. What a joy she is. Has checked out every inch of my apartment and has made herself right at home. Very affectionate, follows me everywhere. We get along just fine. I am very thankful to Animal Rescue Merrimack Valley for introducing me to my Jolene. They are the best!

The Landlord even called this woman while in the parking lotwith Leo. I have all of Leo's paper work, shots and payment in my name proving I'm the owner of Leo. I bought food for her cat Luna and Leo. I figured Leo could visit and play with Luna and brought a large climbing and scratching post. I asked her if she was giving me my kitten back and she said, NO! I'm the rightful owner of, Leo. He loves me and I love and miss him. I called the police but they can't get involved. A woman at MSPCA knows the woman and was mad I called the police. I didn't call about MSPCA. This woman at MSPCA came out with security screaming like a "crazy lunatic" - you're not to come here again!!!! All this because on Easter Day- I turned around and saw a black kitten everyone left behind and took him home. The last time I saw, Leo he was living in a dirty house and the kitty littler box was filled to the rim and he was walking on top of it. I cleaned the littler a couple of times a day and added fresh litter if required. I would have grabbed him but they're 3 against one. They have a cat Luna, why steal someone's pet they paid for and all his shots? Leo could have visited anytime to play with Luna. All paper belong to me.

She was free from Lyme disease after some treatment and we treated her with medication for the tick and flea problems but they and she was all cleared up in 3 months time. She was so smart and loving but now she is dying. Arbor Veterinary gave her the rabies shot in the wrong place and paralyzed her and she may have 2 days left she is in really bad shape. I can't even get her to eat anymore. She locked her jaw. I'm really going to miss her when she passes and I don't know how I'm going to come up with the money for cremation because I was scammed for $5000 and we have no more money.
