I don't usually write reviews, but I feel that it is necessary to warn people about the property…read moremanager here. This place is pretty decent for the price, but if you want to be treated with respect and not literally be yelled at or hung up on, then this is not the place for you. I was getting ready for work in the morning and needed to take out the trash. I tied up the bag and sat it in the hallway so I could grab it and go when I left for work shortly after, which happened to be a violation of the lease, which I understand. When I returned from work, there was a "violation of lease" letter on my door that was written in a catty manner and talked about terminating my lease. I called the front office and left a voicemail inquiring about it and to explain myself. The next morning I received a phone call from the property manager, Rita. I answered the phone and asked how she was and without warning she completely exploded on me about this situation. She questioned my ability to read stating that if I actually read the paperwork then I would've saw that this was a violation. She also went on and yelled about no one wanting to see that, it's a new building, standard paperwork, and she didn't know where I came from but they don't do this here! I barely got a word in edgewise. She talked over me and continued ranting. I asked her why she was being so rude? She then asked me why I was being so unreasonable? Unreasonable??? Simply calling and inquiring about a note left on my door and trying to clear things up is unreasonable? Staying calm and being professional about the situation is unreasonable? Or is someone yelling at you like you're a 5 year old, questioning your intelligence and then hanging up on you unreasonable? I personally would have to choose the latter. At this point I was completely shocked that anyone, let alone a "professional" would act in such a combative and hostile manner. Mind you, this was simply over a trash bag and a pizza box. The absurdity of it all is incomprehensible. I've lived at several apartment complexes, and every place has its little problems here and there, but NONE of them ever treated me so disrespectfully. I have complained to upper management in efforts to make sure that her venomous attitude isn't unleashed on another resident. I will be updating my review when they address this matter. It's sad because I genuinely liked this place. Everyone can formulate their own opinion, and there's nothing wrong with that. If I've done something wrong and received notice, that's okay too. But the manner in which this situation was handled by the property manager was wrong. It makes me wonder what would happen if I accidentally dropped a glove in the hallway. I would probably get another letter. They even left me a letter about dryer lent on the floor in the laundry room. I'm not sure what happened or really how it got there, but I know there was no waste basket in sight. In my opinion, this was petty and the overreaction I received about my inquiry was as well. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill, right? So if you're looking for an apartment, save yourself the headache and the tongue lashing... Keep looking.
