Poor quality. Damage to the landscape…read more I was quite happy when our HOA (Autumn Hill) switched landscape contractors and got Landscape East & West to service our community. However, with the honeymoon period over - I am observing steady decline in the quality of some services. While I am not a landscaping specialist, or a professional gardener, and can't comment on everything LE&W offers, some of the basic tasks like moving, edging, cleaning and paying attention to details - those are things you don't need a degree to tell the difference in quality of work. It also happened so that my lawn (as well as probably majority of homes in our community) requires just those services for most of the time. - Moving is done in the same manner (pattern, trimming height, etc) regardless of the outside conditions or the lawn condition - wet or dry, rain or shine, too hot or not. On top of that for the small patch of grass I have they use quite bulky and heavy equipment, which simply rips the grass when they attempt to turn it around, not mentioning all the furrows left after the same pattern being use over and over again. - Edging, a simple task, is done regardless whether it is required or not - say in places where plastic landscape edging is used. And the crew seems to not be able to notice plants in the way of their edger, and simply shred those plants. - Grass trimmings are sometimes left just on the lawn, but mostly are over path walks, flower beds and even on the cars next to the area being mowed. Since I have exhausted the only venue I had - HOA management - for addressing this issues, I hope this comes to LE&W owners' attentions. I bet this is not an isolated incident, as the same crew works on other properties, other HOA etc.

Obviously the water froze and broke several lines. After several phone calls and promises to come out with an irrigation service person, no one ever showed up or called back. Since there was no stated "warranty" on the work, I have no recourse but to hire someone else to fix this. As I've unfortunately read too late in many of these other reviews, this seems to be common.

We asked for hardscaping ideas and they had nothing to offer. Our Rainbird irrigation system leaves bone dry patches and flooded areas so plants die. Aspen Creek replanted the same plants only to die again. We have waited a year for the final design plan and plant list that has never come despite continued promises. Our sod is dying because the soil grade isn't correct. If you want good customer service, timely follow and clear communication, consider other landscaping companies. For what we paid, I would expect far better treatment. We have reached out many, many times, even trying to reach this business owner.

They were also able to pivot when we wanted to make changes. They were very responsive and took care of problems that arose throughout the project. We had a big project, fixing existing French drain issues and adding extra drain lines, 1200 sq/ft of pavers, fire pit, sitting wall, planter box, lighting. setting new fence posts and setting posts for a pergola we will build later. Their crew was amazing. Very respectful, always willing to answer my questions and explain processes. We are very happy with the results. Dave, the owner, is great to work with. He is a good listener, conscientious, and has a good eye for design and working with what we have. On the maintenance side, Geronimo is kind and responsive. Their teams are careful and they do their best to leave everything looking great when they are done. In fact, after our recent landscaping, they weeded an area we hadn't asked them to do, which made their new landscaping look even better. It was a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. They seem to work as a great team and have fun together. Their costs are competitive and lead times are reasonable, even during busy seasons. We'll definitely use them again.

June 9, 2026 Over the past six years we've utilized Preferred Landscape Services (PLS) for…read moremultiple projects and have always been pleased with the final product. They installed our beautiful paver patio with a french drain 5 yrs and did an awesome job!! We had no hesitation when scheduling PLS to power wash the patio and replace the polymeric sand. I asked Dave what the power washers PSI was, he indicated it would be a 3,500 PSI. We'd always used a battery operated 450 PSI power washer so I researched the appropriate PSI for washing pavers. Everything I read recommended a 1,000 to 1,500 PSI which caused concern. Given PLS installed the patio and our comfort with their services we trusted PLS and dismissed our concerns. A 4,200 PLS power was used to power washed the patio which severely damaged the edge of multiple pavers. Dave offered to look at the results. His response was "they did exactly what they were suppose to, to clean out all old sand. When he asked "what resolution would satisfy us"? My response was, I wish I would've selected someone else to complete the work. Short of that I wanted PSI to replace the pavers. Dave's response was, "they don't make that color any more". I'd file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau however PLS isn't accredited with the BBB. I also couldn't find PLS on the OR Landscape Contractor Board. We definitely won't be utilizing PLS in the future.

Andy and his service has been super easy to work with, very responsive, and always happy to answer my questions. Every once in a while I might need a little extra service (e.g. reseed/thatch, etc) and they're able to do it on the next visit without any issues at all. For example, when we first moved in, we also had a massive amount of overgrown blackberry thickets in our back yard and overtaking our back fence. They came and cleared all that out and got it under control with very clean and well done results. Billing is quick and simple (done online) and correspondence is done in a way that's simple and easy for me at least (via email) with responses usually done within a day or so. This has been really helpful for us since we just recently moved to our first single family home and due to our personal situation, haven't had the ability to maintain our lawn ourselves yet.
