On September 28, 2026, my friends and family decided to celebrate my birthday at Toso. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a special evening turned into an extremely disappointing experience.
I was unable to enjoy my meal because my twins started crying uncontrollably, and I had to leave the restaurant within 15 minutes of arriving. I barely had time to drink anything, let alone eat. Meanwhile, my friends and family stayed to enjoy their evening, only to be faced with the absurd situation of being charged for food that my husband and I had never consumed.
The service was unacceptable from the very beginning. The waitress was arrogant and unprepared to serve a party of more than 10 people. She struggled to explain the menu and did not even bother to ask whether I wanted a drink. Even worse, I was not given the freedom to choose my own dish. Instead, I was expected to eat "Toso signature" which I was NOT informed until I was there, with half of information since the waitress didn't even talk to me. The staff didn't even have any consideration for potential food allergies or dietary restrictions. This is completely unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the friend who made the reservation days later received a phone call claiming that my husband and I had left without paying and that he would be charged from him. This was particularly frustrating because, before I left, I specifically asked the waitress whether I needed to pay anything, and she told me I DID NOT!!!
If Toso is unable to accommodate large parties, the restaurant should be honest about that and decline such reservations rather than provide such a poor experience. Customers deserve competent service, clear communication, and basic courtesy.
I left feeling extremely disappointed and frustrated. What should have been a wonderful birthday celebration with my family and friends turned into an unnecessary controversy because of the restaurant's poor service and lack of understanding.
I have absolutely no problem paying $100 for a meal. The money is not the issue. The principle is. I refuse to accept being charged for food I never had, especially after being explicitly told that I did not need to pay before leaving. I have never experienced a restaurant attempting to charge me for something I did not consume under these circumstances.
This experience reflects a serious lack of professionalism, communication, and customer care. I expected far better from Toso, and I will be sharing my experience on online review platforms so that other customers can make an informed decision before choosing this restaurant for their special occasions.
