Short version - Do NOT use this company!!!…read more Long Version if you want to know why- We hired a landscaper to remove trees so we can grow more grass. He recommended this company and said they had the best topsoil to grow grass. We went with his word and ordered a truck full for $851. We spread the product, planted grass, watered grass....nothing happened. We called the landscaper who saw our yard and told us nothing will grow - we have fill dirt, not topsoil. He called Britton on our behalf to first be told they made no deliveries to our town that week. He sent them a copy of the waiver we had to sign at delivery that they are not responsible if they damage our property. They then just dismissed him. I called and was first yelled at for waiting 3 weeks to call and I should have called immediately. I advised him that I was not a dirt expert and did not know I had fill dirt and not top soil although my husband questioned the color, rocks and clumps, we had faith in the company. I told him the landscaper who is an expert saw it and said we had fill dirt. He then said well you admitted you are not an expert so you probably did not spread it properly. How I spread the product should not change what it is. Next , it was told if was my fault as I planted the grass too early...again that does not change the product. Last the response was we have had a lot of rain so the top soil must have washed away. I told him it is 3 inches thick as recommended and the dirt has not moved. In fact my yard looks like concrete. He then just yelled at me and was getting ready to hang up on me when I asked to speak with a manager. I left a message and never heard. I spent $851 for dirt that I now have to remove so I have room to spread top soil that I have to buy from another company. Please use someone else.

Sometimes, the business has use of items that we pick up on junk removal work orders, but the vast majority of the time we end up with a huge truck full of junk and waste that we need to get rid of. The Sanitation Convenience centers of Philadelphia are great for organic waste such as trees, brush and other organic debris as well as household trash if you are a citizen just looking to get rid of household quantities of trash or debris. The city has become very strict in regards to commercial dumping at these sanitation centers however and this city definitely doesn't need more trash thrown in the streets. Enter Richard S Burns. I've been coming back and forth to this place for the last few years and keep seeing the same employees - a surefire sign of health in a business. Folks are straightforward, but polite. They have scales present so you are sure you know what your total due is, and they are very good with facilitating travel in and out. Sometimes there is a crazy amount of traffic going on but the staff seem to know how to keep everything in control and to keep the place safe, which I respect. There are signs warning you to be careful when driving in - due to nails in tires and such. I haven't had any problems with this but I imagine it could be a bummer to experience. Overall, the folks here are good at what they do and I always feel safe in the yard. Please don't dump trash in Philadelphia - give a call to Richard S burns to either deliver a dumpster or to process your loaded truck full of debris.

Other dumpster companies don't even try, so I was thrilled to find Burns who not only does it, but who's drivers are happy to do so and don't act like they are doing you a favor. Their prices are also very competitive and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who needs a dumpster in the Philadelphia area.
