I felt discriminated against at this location. Hate to say it but there was clearly preferential treatment given. IF you speak the language you get serviced first. Sorry but true. AND you get the upfront cash price. I witnessed plenty of cash deals and lots of people who drove up and got there car serviced ahead of mine. I had an online appointment for 10am. I brought my wife's car at 9:30am and then returned with my car at 10:15. I got in finally at 11:45. Waiting is not the problem but when so many people drive ahead you wonder. Did they just forget me? Nope they make a list. Did all those people ahead have appointments? Doubt it. Did I get a discount at least? Nope! I drove up to the garage and about 5-6 employees were bored out of their minds, pretty sure some were napping. I had a nail in a tire and was driving on my spare. One guy started to jack up the car and the other took a look at the tire. Without even fully Inspecting it, he told me it was too damaged to repair and I needed to buy new tires. I clarified tireS and he said I needed to buy AT LEAST two - without even looking at the other tires. The owner came out and fully agreed without even looking. I told them to pack it up and I headed down the plaza to another garage. Within 15 mins and no questions, I was driving away with my tire back on and my spare in my trunk. I can summarize: 1) Avoid changing your tires the weekend after the 1st snow of the year, it's guaranteed to have an extremely long wait time. If you arrive after 10am on the busy weekend, you may have to wait until 4pm. 2) Arrive at 8am on the weekend, you should be able to leave within 1 hour. 3) Weekday usually have a much shorter queue 4) Buying new tires will let you bypass the queue and get served within 1 hour. 5) Having the tires on the RIM already will guarantee that you can leave faster 6) Double any wait time provided by the staff. 7) Make sure you get your wheel lock key back! But once your tires are off your car, you will exit within 15-20 min (provided your 2nd set of tires are on the rim already). read more

Avoid this place like the plague! Yes, they change your tires for cheap, but you get what you pay for. They STOLE my porsche emblem off of my rim, and they said they didn't have it, when I realized the next day and called them. I had to call them back and threaten to come with the police, and then they magically found it. Funny how that worked. Their low prices also stop at their service / labour... as they don't sell tires at good prices. I went to Ok tire and got the same tire they quoted me at 100 dollars less. The name of the game is this: "You get what you paid for." This garage advertises heavily through various media outlets within the Chinese community. Between seasons, they promise rock-bottom prices for tire changes among other services. I bought four new tires with them going into the summer this year. One of the other reviewers was right, the service itself is fast (I guess depending on when you go); in fact, it was suspiciously "too" fast. After changing the tires, I started experiencing the car shake/vibrate when travelling on the highway. Many people would not notice it because you would likely have to be travelling at about 110+ kmph to feel it. I went back to Green Bay Tire and asked them to look into it. The owner of the garage, who pulled a temper tantrum on the spot, demanded I pay him $20 for the re-inspection. Funny guy, I know. Anyway, no cigar for the man, because it didn't fix the problem as I learned the next day during a test drive. I had enough, so I took it to my dealership for a more proper inspection. They found the problem to be the incorrect placement of weights on the tires during tire balancing, which must be done whenever the tires are changed. Apparently, the garage not only 1) didn't balance the tires, but 2) didn't even use the correct "method" to balance it. Talk about double trouble. The dealership finally fixed the problem, but that also set me back $80. One lead mechanic at the dealership suggested that the combination of faulty equipment and under-trained interns equated to this sub-par service. Now, we're all the wiser. Bonus details: While despairing having lost $100 altogether, I drove past Pacific Mall after visiting my dealership and I couldn't help but wonder how many of those poor car owners in the parking lot are in for a nasty surprise come cottage season. My recommendation: Go to Costco, go to Canadian Tires, heck, even go straight to your own (or any) car dealership, before going to Green Bay Tire for their services. You don't have to avoid them like the plague per se, maybe just avoid them like roasted garlic, because they WILL leave you with a fiercely foul after-taste. read more

2.5 stars: came here last yr to get my winter's switched over to summer. the way it works is no appointment, first come first serve. wait was over an hour. service extremely fast once they start working on the car (5 to 10min), have lots of manpower on the floor (with multiple ppl working on your car), with i think maybe four or five garages available. decent establishment. would not return since the wait was definitely a bummer. pricing was 30 to 35$ for just switching (no balancing done and already with rim) read more

I got my tire fixed because there's a pin on my right tire. I went there just 15 min before closing and they fixed it right away for me. If u pay cash, there won't be any tax but no receipt. It cost me $12 only. read more

They charge $15 for a flat tire repair. The kid forced a piece of rubber into the puncture hole. Pump some air into it. Within 3 months, it leaks again. I end up went to another place to re-do the repair. All cash, no receipt, no tax. I hope Revenue Canada will do an audit on them. read more

Few days after the change I checked my tires which were off the rims. I foud that they broke one of my tires. The inner edge was damage and couldn't be used anymore. Please do not go to Green Bay Tire, their services suck. my aunt got tires installed in her car few years ago and the next day, one of the tires come off when she was driving on Hwy 401. lucky that my aunt was ok. when she went back to talk to them they said it's not their problem. OH MY LORD! and recently i called them and inquired for getting new rims and tires and i know that they are busy at this time of the year when everyone was having their snow tires done of their cars. but still, they cannot be like that to a potential customer. I didn't even finish asking my questions and he hung me up by saying "thank you bye bye!" even though he did say thank you and i understand he is busy, but it seems like he has to many businesses already that he doesn't even care to get just one more, that's ok, in that case, i will never go again and will ask everyone not to go there again. read more

This place the owner is nice BUT watch out for the mechanics. Few weeks ago, I had a flat tire and went in for a service. The mechanics were beyond rude. The mechanic who was working on my tire said "Your tire old" "Thirty years old tire" in fact this is 3rd winter with this tire. I asked what he was implying, he said "Dont understand implying" and stared speaking Chinese with group of mechanics in the shop. When all the work is done and then the same mechanic said "fucking old tire"!!!!! Meantime the other mechanics in the shop is telling me to just go!.... What the ..... I confronted with someone who claims to be the partner of the shop. All he does is telling me "just go" This is the worst place I have ever been. AVOID this place like the plague!!!!!!! read more

USE THIS PLACE ONLY AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!!! I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE!!! If I could give zero stars I would! I have been coming to place for years and years. I've bought tires and rims from them and this is where i go to change my winter and summer tires annually. Waits were sometimes really long but I felt the value was great. $20 to change my tires with rims with balance and I often I'd tip them $5 at completion. Many mechanics are jerks with poor attitudes but a select few are nice. Nice enough to convince me to return year after year. This is where my affections for this place ends. Recently I took my wife's car to have a simple tire rotation done. No removal of rim, just take the back wheels and put them to the front and vice versa with the fronts. Upon removal from the car, the senior chinese manager brings to our attention that the wear on the tires are slanted due to extended wear. He insisted we must buy all four new tires. We were not prepared to spend $800 on a whim. They tried to tell us the dangers of not buying new tires. However, I had previously read up on tire wear and their effects. Although those warnings seemed warranted (since all they do are tires), we ultimately decided against their recommendation and to only have the tire rotation done. This senior manager must had felt insulted by this discourse. I felt they took longer than usual to complete the job (20+ minutes to balance the four tires and put them back on the car). Regardless, we waited in the waiting room patiently until they called us to retrieve the car. As we walked past this senior manager, he refused to make eye contact with us in an odd manner. The car drove fine. In fact, it did not make the noises that they claimed would be happening if we reused those old and "dangerous" tires. The very next day, while my wife was driving to work after sundown, she got a flat. What made it more terrifying was that she had to pull of the highway onto the very darkest stretch of QEW 20km's from the Peace Bridge. Not to mention it was a freezing night. Fortunately we have CAA and they were dispatched to assist her. She further asked me to go meet her so we can change cars so she wont be late to work, while I waited for the tire change to be completed. All of which was a major inconvenience. I immediately suspected that these tire changers at Green Bay Tire had sabotaged us for not taking their recommendations of buy all new tires. Long story short, that damaged tire had an unrepairable large gouged hole on the inside wall. When I finally took it to another tire place to change out, that mechanic showed me that the insides of the tires on the inside walls were severely worn thin. So much so that, much to my mortified astonishment, there were huge piles of rubber chippings inside the tire! And at high speeds, of course they would not hold up. Furthermore, this mechanic informed me that whoever previously balanced my tires did an extremely poor job. Basically, these tires were unbalanced. Personally,I am truely saddened that people could stoop this low just to make a buck. They endangered our lives based solely on their deliberate and malicious retaliation that we didn't take their recommendations of spending $800+ dollars. After decades of my faithful patronage there, I will never ever return to Green Bay Tire (located at 60 Green Lane, in Thornhill), EVER!!! They should be shut down! And me compensated for their gross misconduct and negligence. read more

This outfit is not worth going. I changed my tires by them and they tightened the plastic caps of the wheel bolts by using the air gun; so next time I went back for snow tires installation, they could not loosened the caps and had to overtorque them and damaged them. They did not accept their errors, and refused to paid for the damaged caps read more

I heard they were fast and the prices were good, so I bought some michelin winter tires and saved a few bucks last year. However I paid with a credit card and the next day the credit card contacted me and told me my credit card was copied and within 24 hrs of going there someone tried to do several transactions. I contacted merchant services at the credit company and they did were kind of evasive but they did says that place was suspected to be the source of the leak but after reading all these other comments it pretty well was the last nail in that coffin. If you want tires cheap and fast service then they are okay but never use your debit or credit card. USE CASH ONLY and good luck on the warrenty read more
