My daughter and I stopped here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The hostess was great and the food was amazing. Best crepes ever!

Wow, just blown away…read more My chiro place opened up a location in grand valley, so I decided to come up to their new place. Naturally, I had to search what interesting foods were in the area. The Perked Pierogi seemed to be the only thing worth checking out, plus it was the only place open early in the morning. I was mainly looking for a place to get a coffee that was a local coffee shop and this place fit the bill. However, since they're known for their pierogis, of course I couldn't leave without trying some of those too...even if it was 10am! I ended up getting an ice coffee with a caramel flavour shot and a small order of cheese and potato pierogis. Luckily, they had some that early in the morning to cook. They also sell them to take home to cook yourself. I was SUPER impressed with the ice coffee. It's like they got the portions just right. It wasn't too bitter or too sweet. Also, maybe it was the type of coffee they use. It was so good. They also have almond milk, which is the only way I'll take my ice coffee. I was dancing my happy dance with the first sip. Ok, as you can see from my pics, the pierogis look BOMB AF. Luckily they ALSO taste, bomb af. You only get four but these things are huge. Each one took me 3 bites, but that's me lol. I cut them all up to let the heat out so I wouldn't burn my mouth BUT, I soon realized that I didn't have to do that. They were somehow THE perfect temperature. I was so happy and impressed I didn't have to wait or blow on them before devouring lol. Anyways, they're super quality and fresh. Even the bacon on top. The pierogis were cooked to perfection. A nice little pan sear but still soft. The sour cream was the perfect addition to each bite of pierogi, bacon and onions. Oh man, these are some of the best, maybe the best, I have ever had! I will gladly come back over and over. I can't wait! #supportlocal

This second location is located outside on the beautifully picturesque cobblestone road named Temperance Street. The building is historic and the calm interiors make you feel instantly at home. The staff was really nice and told me about their menu and seasonal items. In addition to coffee and matcha based beverages, the store offers food and merch as well. Apparently this location is a laptop free zone, offering an incredibly welcome oasis from the hustle and bustle of financial district. Today I ordered a cortado. Before you even drink it, the fragrant coffee smell hits you. A bit sweet and almost fruity. When drinking it, the flavours amplify and provide an overall sense of calm, a breath of fresh air. It doesn't just feel like a regular old coffee but that you can take your time with it, like having a conversation with an old friend, it is meant to be savoured. I absolutely plan to go back for one of their seasonal matcha beverages and to get away from it all. 5/5

I did like the flavor of the regular hot matcha latte more, plus they made a very cute bunny latte art on it! Inside is small with minimal seatings but has a cool ambience for hanging out.

The service was pretty good, and we got to sit outdoors on the patio on a beautiful sunny day - one simply can't ask for a better dining experience. One complaint from a couple in our party was the coffee tasted and smelled like dish soap. I didn't order coffee myself but perhaps it wouldn't hurt to run an extra cycle of rinsing before serving with those mugs.

This place is pretty good. I looked up a nice place to eat some local food. This place received…read moresome awesome reviews. So thought we'd check it out. Short wait time to get a table. In spite of the time told to us by the hostess. It was our first time there. Our orders were placed. Yet the food seemed to take a long time to get to our table. Meanwhile others got seated after us and their food was out to them, shortly after they sat and ordered. Catfish burger 11/10. Portobello mushroom burger 7/10. It seemed to be missing something. Salads were phenomenal 10/10. Mac'n'cheese, another 10/10. And I never eat that. At all, it was really, really good. Top of the line. The staff were friendly, yet I couldn't help but notice how it seemed our table lacked attention in getting served. I dont know if its because my friend and I were out of towners. I asked twice for hot sauce that was actually given to our table from a different server than the one who took our order. And she was the second person I asked. Mind you it was fairly busy and I understand that. I appreciated learning of the history of the restuarant. In it being originally a bakery and then taken over by the son-in-law. Maintaining the quality and integrity of the food coming out of the kitchen. Definitely nice to hear and not something experienced often in the big city. My friend and I live in Toronto. The washroom I felt was a little close to the dining area. I think there needs to be some more separateness between the dine area, the washrooms and the kitchen. Smells tend to linger. I also didn't enjoy how they use billybee honey instead of a local one. Aside from that. Great restuarant with a wonderful mission. Will likely return.
