I've moved quite a bit since the upheaval caused by the pandemic; different states, different apartments in those states, and nothing really worked out. Like for many others, perhaps, things since the pandemic have been pretty unsettled and chaotic. On top of that, there seems to be an inherent disorder, or chaos, to my life, despite my best attempts to right the ship and keep it on an even keel. Things just have not gone very well, though I have managed to at least keep a roof over my head and, more importantly, over my beloved pets' heads. I chose Saginaw over other places both in Michigan and in other cities/states, and discovered Green Acres Apartments as part of that search. I took a gamble, and rented a unit sight unseen at this apartment complex. My past few times with this experience have been, well, not great, though, again, at least I managed to have a place to live, amazingly enough. I was really worried about this apartment, based on past and present experiences in renting. I was also very, very tired and burned out, and feared that this place would be another storm I would have to weather in my journey to find a place, and a city, I could settle into for a while (and even just to catch my breath). I needn't have worried. Green Acres is the best place I have ever leased in all my 30+ years of renting. I came prepped with an arsenal of cleaning supplies (I used to clean professionally, and have high standards), but the place was so clean, I only used a handful of supplies. Everything really was "freshly painted" and I loved everything about the apartments down to the the cat-friendly large windows and the charming retro feel of the cabinet hardware and the wonderful quirky bathroom. I sat in my living room that first night after my stuff was moved in, had a cup of tea, looked out the tall window that overlooked the lovely courtyard--and felt so calm and at peace. The staff at Green Acres, from the very beginning, have gone above and beyond to help me settle in in several ways--none the least with the welcome box of delectable pastries that were a much-appreciated treat that first day as I tried to restore enough order among the moving boxes to have a place to sleep (and a pathway through the apartment!). I would highly recommend Green Acres as a "safe harbor" place to call home. read more

They're staffing seems nice at first when they're trying to get you moved in and take your money but after they get you moved in they're rude and honestly the apartments are over priced, I wouldn't suggest living here either if you work a late shift job or are just trying to relax on a day off cause they allow the lawn mowing company and bush trimming company to come in at times of 8am to 9am and be loud af for hours. Also if you have any issues with other tenants good luck getting them to look in to things and do anything about it cause they won't. People throw trash out of their cars all the time across the apartment complex. It's also way over priced. So I would just highly recommend not coming here read more

I lived at Green Acres Village Apartments for 1 1/2 years when I first moved here to Michigan. I just moved out at the end of February because of my current job. If I was still in the area, I would still be living there. The apartment unit I rented was very clean and well maintained when I moved in. No issues there. Jessica in the office is amazing! She was always so friendly and helpful. She answered all questions in a timely manner. Anytime there was a problem with something in the apartment unit, she was quick to get maintenance to look at it/fix it. The maintenance crew was also helpful and quick to resolve any problems. Whenever they were out and about and I saw them, they would smile and say, "Hello" which was very nice. I like how the yard work and snow removal was taken care of by Green Acres Village Apartments. Being from Hawaii, I don't know how to shovel snow, so I wanted a place that would handle it for me. During the spring and summer, the trees, plants, and flowers are beautiful and well maintained. It's a alright place to stay if your looking for somewhere to live quick, lock your cars they don't have cameras and your stuff will get broken into, they will even leave a note reminding you to lock your doors because break ins happen regularly, their washers and dryers cost way to much to use there so try and get a apartment with the outlet hookups, and there is only 2 of each and it fits maybe half of what a regular washer or dyer would, the carpets are out of date and they have a already pretty bad smell to them when you move in like a stale air smell. read more

I took 6 month lease for son. Though I needed from oct 1st, they forced me to take a week advance. They asked my to fill in renters insurance policy form signed by agent and myself, I did week advance. On the day of movein they said, I need to provide policy number and put penalty for turning in policy number a day late. After processing the application, they mentioned about non-refundable reconditioning fee of $250. They advertise heating is free, but they charge $55/month for these. They find all avenues to charge more and we should be very careful. The manager is very rude too. Not sure how many more issues I am going to face. But I will post my moveout experience as well. Not able to find apartments for short term lease. They provide for a premium and I ended up taking. read more

Green Acres Village Apartments are designed for people who are going to stay in Saginaw for at least 3 months (shortest lease available). There are four options for people to choose from: one or two bedroom with each being furnished or unfurnished. Unfurnished apartments come with a stove and refrigerator only. Furnished apartments also include dinner table with chairs for 4, love seat and personal sofa with coffee table and lamp in the living room, and 2 dressers and a king-sized bed in each bedroom. Tip: Bring your own shower curtain. The apartment is very clean but it's easy to track salt (for melting snow) into the apartment. Sidewalks are routinely cleared after a heavy snow fall. Parking is either on the street (private) or in a private lot behind each building. People can pay extra to park in a covered spot but those fill up quickly and one may be placed on a waiting list. The only person you really work with on the staff is at the front office. Very accommodating and responds to emails very quickly with answers to all your questions and concerns. Deposit: $500 Rent includes water, gas, and heat. The only thing you pay for is electricity. During the summer, there is no air conditioning so it may get quite warm. Walls for each room are a little thin so you can hear most of what your neighbors are talking about. If you are on the bottom floor and someone is upstairs in boots, you'll likely be able to track their movement in their apartment. read more

Pros: *Grounds are kept neat weekly. *Office staff is really helpful and nice. Really nice. *They offer leases as short as 3 months. Cons: *Apartments that I've lived in and seen are dated, from bathroom tiles to kitchen cupboards (the smell gets into your dishes and they need to be rinsed again before use), to the carpet coming unraveled in the vacuum... they need a serious upgrade. *They breed discriminate against dog breeds you had no idea were on the "naughty list". That really made me angry because there are a lot of aggressive smaller dogs here that would undoubtedly bite you if they got off leash. My advice to them if they're worried about getting sued over dog bites happening on their property: don't allow any dogs at all, not just some. All dogs can bite and I've been bitten by two small dogs in the past (not here) and they do serious damage, so don't be fooled by size. Their ideas about larger dog breeds are misguided and just plain stupid. read more

Lived here for three years while earning my nursing degree at SVSU and never had a problem. Excellent management (one of GAVA's strongest points). Fairly priced. Repairs are easily requested and always completed on time. Clean atmosphere, well-attended landscaping. Nice clubhouse and sufficient workout room. It is my understanding that all of these have been remodeled since I lived there, so they are even nicer now. The apartments are on the older side - not gonna find marble counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and premium wooden floors in this place, but the units are still nice, and are very well maintained. They don't "feel" old. I heard that they have some premium ones in the back of the complex, but I've never been inside one of them. I have, however, been inside apartments that offered the fancy counter tops and all that jazz, but did not have a hookup for a washer and dryer in them. That was a godsend. Definitely one of the finer apartment complexes in Saginaw. Great location - you're next to Green Acres Plaza, which allows you to have a quick walk to a massive Kroger and a sizable strip mall. I haven't been to GA Plaza in a while, but I heard there are many more shops/business/etc there now. There's a pretty good (and affordable) pizza place called "Good Times" over there. Many, many larges with Pepperoni and Pineapple were ordered during my tenure at Green Acres Village Appointments! My only complaint is that GAVA spoiled me...I always find myself comparing the service and great management provided by GAVA to the ones I "receive" (if I call enough the management enough times) at my new spot near Detroit.
