The Swedish west coast has several small typical (fishing) towns - Grebbestad is one of them. They are all alike, you can probably choose any of them.
These little towns are so typical and very different from corresponding towns on the east coast of Sweden.
I must say I was a bit surprised there weren't more visitors here on a Monday afternoon in the middle of July! Nothing much happening. You walk the seaside back and forth. Grab an ice cream or a beer or a bite at any of the MANY places alongside. I was a bit disappointed though. Didn't see anything cozy or extraordinary worth sitting down at. I guess I had some kind of a disillusioned picture of the picturesque and quaint little town.
For the younger clientele I guess the party is good here in the summer time. But if you want to explore small towns of the west coast, I'd recommend you to go to smaller places like Skärholmen or Klädesholmen on Tjörn further south. read more
