A fantastic practice, for the most part! Amazing front desk and admin staff, and almost all of the providers are phenomenal, thoughtful, caring, and humble. The one exception in my experience is Ashley Luchini. As someone who rose through the professional ranks as a young woman, I really wanted to like her. Waited yet again over 45 minutes again .......... This is the third time I had to sit and wait over 45 minutes and it's always for the same doctor in which I will not mention her name. I have a job too. I lose pay sitting and waiting for you Totally unexceptionable. read more

I wasn't going on here to review but I had to add that I'm a particular person and I personally don't have any medical complaints whatsoever about the Hamden location is all I've been to. Have never had me wait for the multiple times I've been there over the years. All are professional people at time of greeting, to departure, over the phone with appointments and concerns has all been swift. Urine sample is swift upon arrival and I have had all great nurses and assistants to my dr. I've had two children at another practice and as far as I know they all have you see multiple doctors and midwives, so not unheard of to me. The only uncomfortable part of my visits honestly are trying to focus on why I am there and then being reminded of things I don't want to be. For example; I am going for a medical visit. I do not appreciate that they feel the need to post in exam rooms at eye level in stirrups, that they encourage protesting and are not a racial environment, etc. That doesn't cross my mind nor do I understand why it does theirs to post this. The mere fact that they have that on exam walls along with other politically toned words was the only turn off to me. Lastly, I saw some dad's reviews about the way they were treated by female staff members (drs?). I don't approve of what I can imagine based on their feminist views per the posting I mention above. Many of the women being treated there are the product of being impregnated by yes - a man so... respect to all! read more

Okay I do need to update this review because I love them again. Lol. When they left their tiny office in Hamden and moved down the street to a much bigger space, it was like night and day. The staff is professional and dr Lima is the absolute best and he explains and normalizes things without the dramatics you may find elsewhere. They still did not offer later appointments for prenatal but it is what it is I suppose. When you find the few you click with you can just request them in your appointments. I feel they were paramount in me having a safe delivery with my first and I'm grateful for that cause they really advocated for me to do a cesarean and it I really needed to as my blood pressure and the baby's heart was fluctuating and I just couldn't finish after 28 hours!!!!! Crazy but overall dr Lima is the best and he delivered both my babies. Done to earth and realistic and honest. read more

I never waited more than 10 minutes as a prenatal patient. All of the midwives gave me plenty of information at each appointment and when I had questions at home it was easy to get a nurse on the phone. My labor went well and I felt supported by Joanie and Dr Lima the whole time. read more

DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT HERE. From day one your experience with this group will be absolute misery. You will not feel cared for, you will go home every day uncertain about your baby because you will not have a doctor that knows you, your history, symptoms etc, you will have a random nurse or midwife every single time. You will be treated like a number. You will wait 45 minutes to an hour after your scheduled appointment time only for some random man or woman come in, give you a once over and send you on your way. Then the big day comes. I didn't meet the doctor who performed my C section, until I was in the operating room. I sat there terrified with my back exposed waiting for someone to stick an needle in my spine and the only thing they seem concerned with is making sure I give consent so their med students can watch. Dr. Lima is a salesman not a doctor. I asked him to be put back on an antidepressant I had success with in the past, he suggests another because "he likes it better". You mean, you get paid more commission? Not only did he talk me into the more expensive C section and his preferred drugs but in my post op appointment he practically chased me out of the room with a brochure for an IUD after repeatedly telling him I wanted to talk to my partner before making any decisions about birth control. THANK GOD I didn't let him put that copper wire thing inside me. Watch The Bleeding Edge documentary on Netflix and you'll see why. Doctors these days care about one thing, cold hard cash. They are nothing more than drug and medical device pushers. I'm sure there are reputable doctors out there but certainly not at this practice. Stay away. Do your research. read more

I LOVE THIS GROUP!!!!! I have been a patient here for 15 years. Dr. Edusa is the most compassionate doctor I've ever met in any specialty. She makes me feel so comfortable every time I see her. She is always attentive and concerned with my health and well being. Over the years I have seen many of the physicians and midwives in this practice though I have my favorites......they are all wonderful. Highly recommended and their new office in Hamden is absolutely gorgeous! read more

I've been going to this practice since I was 17. The new Hamden office is beautiful, placed with very personable employees. I have seen majority of the doctors, they are all very thorough and do their best to make you feel comfortable. This office runs on time! I receive a confirmation call the day prior to each appointment. If I do not have an appointment, I can call to put a message in for a provider/nurse. The nurses always return my call very punctually. I would recommend this practice to anyone from a young age to even first time mothers. read more

Not a welcoming place if you are a first time expecting mother. We were disappointed with our experience here.

I have been a long time patient and have seen various providers within the group. I am extremely pleased with the practice. The staff was kind, friendly, and welcoming and the new Hamden office was a pleasure to go to. The GYN office is often a place many women dread going, but this practice made me feel comfortable and at ease. Highly recommended! read more
