I originally heard about this place from my boyfriend who went once and ended up with a haircut he liked but for a relatively steep price. The first thing I noticed when hearing about the haircut was that they charge a "long hair fee" which added about ten dollars onto the actual service. His hair didn't seem to be that long, it looks like an excuse to squeeze extra money out of customers. I thought his haircut looked good so I was willing to pay $30+ for a nice haircut from this place. When I first walked in, things seemed good but slowly got worse over my visit. I got a young woman who I thought was on the same page as me for my haircut. I showed her photos and she even told me the name of the haircut I wanted which seemed promising. The haircut I wanted would've only needed about 1-2 inches off of my hair but she ended up taking 6+ inches off and left me with an obviously uneven cut that was NOTHING like what I wanted. I thought we were on the same page when originally talking about my haircut and ended up so horrified and confused with what happened. I left the place crying my eyes out and had to fix the uneven parts myself because my experience with her was so bad, I never want to let anyone near my hair ever again. I still paid full price for my terrible haircut and when I got the courage to ask for my money back they were extremely rude, refusing to refund me and telling me to leave. A month later I am still upset over truly how ugly and butchered my haircut turned out and how rude they were to me. If you're someone who loves your hair (and your wallet) or even relatively values having it please do not go here. The only cut they're gonna get right is a buzz. read more

My husband came in to get a haircut today. He asked when he walked in if they could do a fade, and their response was yes. The haircut was a disaster. The woman messed up his hair, it's uneven on one side, not even a fade like he asked for. The woman cut his Scalp in 2 places and didn't even offer an alcohol wipe to clean it, he had to ask. She didn't wipe the hair off of him when done, he had to do it himself. Then the woman actually charged him full price- $33, and asked him for a tip! The whole experience was horrific. Definitely do not recommend coming here for a haircut. Never returning to this place. read more

I've been taking my kids here for years due to the convenient location and usually no wait. The haircuts have always been middle of the road. My son's cut was always $15 for just a standard boy cut. Then they raised the price for him to $18 recently. No big deal. Today I got him a cut and the barber, who we have used dozens and dozens of times (and I have always tipped $5+ per cut) kept commenting that he had "a lot of hair". It was a little bit odd. He does have thick hair, but it only had been 6 weeks since his last cut so it still looked fine--it was just time to get it cut again. When I went to pay she said "since his hair was long it's $21." I asked her if she was serious and she said, "Yeah, I charged someone else $21 earlier because they had long hair too." What a joke. Never, ever again. read more

We were so excited to get our 1 1/2 year old sons haircut for the first time along with a trim on my husbands hair. This was the wrong place to choose, unfortunately! The lady that was cutting our sons hair scared him with the buzzers, managed to cut him behind the ear (and not mention it to me when it happened), & gave him the most uneven haircut. My husband walked out with a haircut that might as well have been done with buzzers but she did it with her scissors and it is still uneven! I am so bummed that we couldn't leave here with a positive experience for our son and us. read more

Price is reasonable, staff is polite. I think they do an exceptional job. I've seen other people's reactions after getting their haircut while waiting. Customers are ecstatic and feel revitalized. On a side note the staff really care for their customers. The girl in the front noticed a customer was bleeding from his arm and treated his wound. She didn't have to, but she did it anyways. It's a barber shop not a nurse's office. Place is extra in a good way. Give the place a try. read more

Hair cut is $10 and shampoo is $5 the girl who cut my hair did a Thai head massage while giving me the shampoo. This was by far the best part of the visit; I almost fell asleep during this. All in all great value and friendly staff !! read more

First off, I am never one to post poor reviews. I'm also a very reasonable person when it comes to mistakes being made. That being said... By far the worst experience of my hair cutting life. I tried to explain what I wanted to the stylist. There was a misunderstanding and the hair cut was done incorrectly and far too much was cut off even though I showed a picture of what I wanted. I was frustrated with the haircut. And when I spoke up about what was done incorrectly, the hair stylist proceeded to say that she did exactly what I said (which was completely incorrect). She was defensive and upset at me. Instead of there being an apology for the mess up, there was indignant righteousness. I can't believe the experience. The stylist was talented - but the mess up and lack of responsibility of the mistake make this a terrible review. I had to pay $15 for a hair cut that a child could have done blindfolded. read more

One of the dirtiest salon/barbershops I've ever been to, totally butchered my hair (I explained what I wanted by unfortunately there was a language barrier), and now I have razor burn all over the back of my neck. Got in for a women's cut with Anne. She is awesome! I have an inverted bob and she shaped it up and layered it so nicely. Soooo glad I found them! You may have to wait depending on time of day. I happened to come in during non rush hour. By the time I left there were 3 people waiting for cuts who walked in. It's been about 4 years and I'm still upset about the service and the way I was treated . The woman trimed my hair for about 3 minutes( I was growing out a short pixie cut). She charged me for the full price of a regular hair cut. She was rude and unprofessional when she handed me back the receipt I just signed demanding a tip! I was desperate for a good but affordable cut. I'm new to San Marcos and saw this place positively reviewed so I went in and asked for whomever could do a high fade cut. I was given a young Asian girl, first seat on right in front. She claimed she knew how to do a high fade but then had to ask me how high to start a high fade. She proceeded to fade, and fade, and fade, AND FADE...She went over the same areas MANY times making my head sore from friction. My regular barber down in El Cajon, Bob's on Broadway, is a P R O!!! She may have accomplished the chore, but she WASN'T good at it. If you go there, DON'T let her fade you unless you want shaver burn on your scalp. I have it rated three stars due to price. 13 bucks is better than the 20 they want a block down for a thug cut at JR's, cut by 'thug looking homies'. read more

I walked in the very first time a year ago. I literally cut off 8 inches (all my hair) Before Anna cut my hair, she asked me 3 times, "are you sure you want to wear it that short" My hair was long. I decided to cut it 1/2 inch to my scalp. Anna did a fabulous job. Thanks Anna you have blessed skills. You are the only person I can trust with my hair. Woman did 5min of work and only rounded the back. Literally no more than 5 min in the chair and still charged $15 the full price of a cut. Then had the nerve to demand a tip. She literally handed the slip back saying to add a tip. Couldn't believe it. What an entitled ass. Never going back. read more

This place is amazing if u use the little old lady. My teenage son is sooo picky who cuts his hair but this lady takes her time. My son does not allow the clippers, scissors only so the cut takes a while. The old lady has been out for a while so today my son is trying the only guy who works here. So far so good read more

Was my first time going to this place, their sign said $18 for a haircut, i only cut off about two inches up to my shoulders & they ended up charging me $25. when i asked why they were tryna charge me $25 when it says women haircuts are $18, she said its only $18 for women with shorter hair basically only if i were to have a pixie cut & wanted a haircut it would be $18. so overpriced, wouldnt recommend. read more

I brought my teen nephew here for a haircut not knowing what to expect since I don't take anyone to a barber. My sis pointed out the sign for $10 cuts so we stopped by for a deal. The woman who cut his hair took her time and even cut his hair with scissors and clippers. I didn't know barbers did that! My daughter stood over her and watched while she cut his hair. My husband use to come here because it was close to our house and convenient. The first couple of times he got a young asian girl who doesn't know what she's doing, he needs a high fade because he's in the military and she asked how high he wanted the fade, seriously? My husband being the "benefit of the doubt" type of person kept going back and believes he got the owner of the barber shop the last and final time he was there, she is an older asian lady. She cut his hair and after being done my husband let her know that he couldn't leave her a tip, she got angry and told him never to return. In my humble and honest opinion you don't treat customers like that, you may have been open for 10 years or more but when you treat customers like they don't help your business grow, especially new customers then you really shouldn't be a business owner. Highly confused as to how this place has four stars. My husband was given a terrible haircut here on Saturday, June 30th. Literally horrible. He had to spend extra money to go somewhere else directly after to fix it in fear of what more she could possibly do. My husband is extremely kind so just asked her to stop. He did not leave a tip because it was a horrible job and a job half done. We were charged $2 additional on our card. So she wrote in her own tip. Completely unacceptable. We are kind, generous and good tippers so it has nothing to do with the money but the poor quality cut and horrible morals from someone who will write in their own tip. What was done is immoral, FRAUD and illegal. I called the business to find out more about why they felt the need to charge us fraudulently and was hung up on twice. read more

Great cut for the price. Anne, Nick, and Marine are very friendly. I have been going here for a while. They do offer shampooing, but you have to ask. I would like to see this place succeed, because of the staff. The place could be cleaner. Some basic paint, in neutral colors would improve the atmosphere a lot. read more
