    Sweet shop, decent ice cream

I was very pleased at our experience at the lodge. We needed a quick 1 night for an appt and everything was so seamless, I was very impressed. Everything seemed clean and it was very fun. The wolf theming was over the top and my kids ate. It. Up. The complimentary wolf ears really made for a slightly stressful arrival more fun. The food offerings weren't amazing, but the one major issue we had with our order being wrong was immediately fixed and refunded promptly with a simple text. Our room was adorably themed and the kids were overjoyed in kids camp! I'm sad we missed the dance party and little character meet and greets, but it will be something we can look forward to next time. There wasn't a ton of waterpark offerings compared to other parks, but honestly it's perfect for a younger audience (under 10). We were able to comfortably do everything within a few hours with minimal lines. I liked the convenience 24 hour location. My major criticism would be that the 24 hour arcade was not staffed and there was a ton of games that needed unjammed and some kids were completely feral and making it miserable for others (throwing basketballs hard at each other and almost hitting my baby). I get that it's a parenting thing, but also when parenting fails, it becomes needing a staff member thing. The prize shop wasn't open either which made my kids upset.

It was a pretty good place. Food was good. The workers there are nice water park was good. They didn't have my favorite slide though they do that usual great Wolf Lodge. They have bowling many bowling. I really like.

A much smaller facility than Wisconsin Dells and Sandusky locations. The MagicQuest was a joke compared to the other GWL that have separate buildings. You have to stay with your kids at all times unlike the other GWL where you can let them roam on each level because this one is in the hotel. So you go by private rooms and it just didn't feel safe enough. The waterpark did not have a wave pool and it seemed much smaller. Although it wasn't as busy as other locations. The staff are still very nice and the lifeguards are on top of their jobs. They now charge you $15 per night for parking. Everyone checking in was very upset by it. There's no extra security so not sure why they charge for it. Our room was very nice and the reason I gave a two star. The last complaints have to do with check in. It took almost an hour and I was 9th in line. There were 5 people at the desk but most times only 2 checking in. There was no concierge to hold bags while waiting for your room to be ready. Below are the positive: Accessible parking Accessible rooms Accessible waterpark (they have a water wheelchair you can borrow, lifts to get into pools and lazy river, you can roll under the bucket dump easily. These are the reasons I'm giving them a 3 star instead of a 1 star. I prefer all other GWL locations.

The reason it's not a 1 star is because it's very accessible. Lots of pool lifts and they have a pool wheelchair. Other than that, If you've never been to another Great Wolf Lodge, this place is probably great. If you have, don't come unless you're here for other parts of Traverse City. Water park is small compared to others. Magic Quest is a joke. It's not in its own building or area. It's around the top floors of the atrium. The game passes rooms if the stairs are taken, you're kids can't roam like other ones. There is no level 2 for the quest. The elevator is slow because kids have to use it for the game. Parking is now $15 a day as of May 1st.

Cabana. 5 towels, 5 waters, tv, outlet, pack of cards and seating for a price.
    Sheena B.

We went back again since they offered us a free night. Now the whole first row of parking they are charging you $15 a day to park. Prices of the rooms have doubled. With all the extra expenses if don't want to spend $1,500 a night I guess the middle class is out. We did order out at places close by. They don't do the kids starting the water opening anymore. For our size family not affordable. They did clean up arcade and remodel part of that. But I feel like they are charging double points to play games. Again definitely jacked up prices across the board. Everyone else got to check in and our rooms weren't ready till last minute.

Hotel Trivia: Where is the oldest Great Wolf Lodge Resort located?

From reservation to check out, a large pack of Great Wolf Lodge wolves were spotted handling guests' needs.

We stayed in the Fireplace Suite for two nights. The hotel is very busy; lots of kids running around doing "magic quests." There are a lot of "extra" costs if you or child wants to participate in the quests, along with other fees, such as parking. The food and drinks in the restaurant there are kind of expensive for the quality in my opinion. You have to "check out towels" in the water park if you don't bring your own. If you don't "check them back in" then there is a charge. The water park was fun and we enjoyed the outdoor pool as well. Our room wasn't the cleanest, we found coke bottles stuffed into the couch our first day there shortly after check-in. For the price of the stay, we expected better quality and didn't plan on all of the extra fees and costs.

It was really…read morean excellent little getaway with many pros and only a few cons This resort specializes in golf...golf...GOLF (haha) during the summer, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have much to offer in the winter. There is an AMAZING spa (excellent sauna, hot tub, indoor pool, great massages), basketball and tennis courts, arcade, axe throwing, mini bowling, and indoor golf simulators. And if you prefer to just not leave the room, very comfy beds with couch seating at almost 400 sq feet per the most basic room (next time we stay here we will probably stay on the tower side of the resort where the rooms are even a little nicer). What we also loved here was the food. Aerie restaurant might be our new favorite restaurant in Michigan (close toss up with The Chophouse in Grand Rapids). See a separate review of mine for more particulars. There is also amazing room service, Niiji restaurant downstairs next to the lobby (great breakfast menu), and Jacks where you can get a good pizza or cheesy bread with awesome drinks. As for the cons, there are two: 1. A little pricey, and will only increase as we get more "in season." For the extra cost of an airplane ride, we could get a suite in downtown Vegas at the Golden Nugget, Plaza, or a luxury mini suite on Michigan Avenue in Chicago for the same price per night here of a standard room. That doesn't necessarily mean the price is not worth it here. Just be prepared is all. 2. Kids. Ugh. During the week there were not many people staying here, but as the weekend crept up more families arrived. Of course all it takes is one mommy and daddy to get drunk at Jacks downstairs while letting 3 ten year old buffoons run up and down the hall six floors up knocking on doors and running away to peeve folks like my wife and I to really put a damper on things (I don't mind admitting I don't like kids-lol. I have my own children and grandchildren-that's enough for me). The point is... do not confuse this with an adults only sanctuary. That is not what this place is. Just be prepared. Overall the score here is more like a 4.5 vs a true 5, but I'm rounding up as my wife and I were able to create some precious memories. That is bigger and better than any high price or annoying kids. Job very well done by the GTR&S. Looking forward to coming back here next year perhaps for a golf outing. :)

My family and I--my wife and three children--arrived after a 5-hour drive from Chicago, just one day after my wife had surgery. After that kind of travel, you expect a warm and professional welcome. That was not our experience. At check-in, there was no one at the front desk. When a staff member named Adriana arrived, there was no greeting, no eye contact, and the interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming from the start. Even after we calmly tried to reset the tone, the experience did not improve. When we asked to speak with a manager, the situation remained uncomfortable and unresolved.she was even interrupting her manager johnny and said she didn't care if we gave a review. This was a surprising first impression for a resort of this caliber. We also couldn't ignore that we were the only Black family present at the time, which made the interaction feel even more concerning. I'm sharing this feedback in hopes that management will take a closer look and address it. We're still here for several days and would truly appreciate the opportunity for our experience to be turned around. Hoping someone from management reaches out during our stay.

Nice common area with a fireplace and comfy couches. The views were amazing. Cons: The front desk staff seems unhappy and passes that along to you. As other reviewers have mentioned, they aren't flexible when it comes to changing your stay or checking in/out earlier than the stated times, so make sure your plans are very solid before booking, even in the dead of winter. Parking is very limited. We were expecting guests to drop by for a quick visit (two hours tops) and asked where they could park. We were directed across US-31 (a busy four-lane thoroughfare) to an overflow lot. We asked if there was anything closer, as one person is in a wheelchair, but they didn't budge. (The parking lot in front of the hotel was empty except for our car at that point.) I'm giving this four stars because it is an impressive property and the winter prices are quite low, but keep in mind that the customer experience wasn't great.

The styling is craftsman and is holding up nicely despite the harsh winters and water. Rooms are nicely maintained but the furniture is showing some wear. It was clean and well organized and it felt safe. Access to the beach is easy and each unit has a patio. Views are stellar and it's well worth the price. They come by to clean rooms and tidy up every day. The kitchenette is helpful and the fireplace is also a fun compliment to the space. Staff at the front desk is not award winning for personality but they got us what we needed. Bar was never open and the sister property down the beach has a restaurant and rooftop bar should you need that. We would return.

No worries, she had a walker, so a disaster was averted. I did let the front desk know, and they were aware of it, and stated that the location is due for updating soon, and that will be fixed. Checking into her room, Rm 214, it was massive, and I was very impressed by all the handrails in the bathroom. There were some negatives of the room though, there were only light switches right by the door when you walked it, and then only on the lamps throughout the room. My mother got up in the middle of the night and couldn't find a way to turn on any lights and had to call down to the front desk. The other negative was that the door of the bathroom, which is immediately to the right of the room door, when opened prevented you from entering the room. My mother has balance issues and called me to come in the room to help her out of the tub, and because she left the bathroom door open, I could not access the room. Her friend was sleeping but could come let me in after she heard me knocking. The next negative is the lack of wastebin liners. I spoke to the front desk and they told me it was company policy in an attempt to be 'greener'. Although I love this sentiment, I hated the smell of my food garbage permeating my room, and ended up walking it down to the lined trash bin next to the ice machine. Myself, and several other patrons staying at your facility, found ourselves requesting laundry bags so we could line our trash bins ourselves. I know they can be pricey, but may I suggest keeping biodegradable trash Bags on hand for those customers who request liners for their bins, rather than putting them in every room at every turnover? That is the end of my negative feedback, I rarely, if ever, enter public pools or spas, and annoyingly enough for my travel companions, I travel with a pool testing kit in my car because of my job. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the pool & spa, and they tested spot on, so I gave my blessing to the members of our party to go ahead and enjoy. I was upset that the first, and only time, we ate at the in-house restaurant/bistro, was after checking out. We had the most fabulous breakfast! Lastly, and most importantly, I would like to sing the praises of the staff at this location. They were always friendly, professional, and very helpful. My mother lost a nut from her walker, which was preventing her from using it. I brought the walker to the front desk hoping they might have a maintenance room where a spare nut could be located. I then had 6 people on the case. Jack, Josh, Laura, Alexandria, Pete and Rin. I was so astounded and appreciative that so many people were on the case. A nut was found, but didn't fit right, and wouldn't stay in place, so Pete & Josh went looking more thoroughly and found something that would fit AND stay in place. They fixed my mother's walker, which she is pretty much lost without. This level of service AMAZED me.

Unfortunately, I did not get names for the staff that brought the items we needed, but I did get the names of the people that were at the front desk, I would like to give a very big thumbs-up to both Anthony - who checked us in both times - and to Sky - who helped us extend our room by one day when we called the front desk at 5:00 AM. Originally, we planned to drive home today, but realizing that I might not be up for the drive back after hours of tests, we decided to rest up one more day. We would like to give the hotel and its accommodations a "10" on a scale of 10, but - following the example of "This Is Spinal Tap" - we want to give the staff an "11"! Needless to say, but I will anyway, this hotel is now our go-to for any further visits to Munson in TC. I promise that you will definitely not be disappointed with your stay here as well!
