Kind owners, clean and level campsite, reasonable pricing, and family friendly! Can't go wrong with this campground!

I've personally seen the manager nut tf out on a dissatisfied customer. Do not come here. Try the Blue Doors motel instead. I'm giving one star because I can't give zero.

When we checked in, our sites had been changed. We were told they wouldn't move us back because one of the two reservations hadn't paid the $40 "lock-in" fee. I even offered to pay the fee at check-in so we could get our original sites back, but they refused. To make matters worse, the sites we originally reserved ended up sitting empty half our stay with no RVs in them. The front desk experience only made things worse. As we calmly expressed our disappointment and tried to explore whether there was any way to move us back to our reserved sites, the employee accused us of "raising heck." She then abruptly asked if we wanted a refund rather than trying to help resolve the situation. The interaction came across as rude and dismissive, and there was very little effort made to provide good customer service. I've been coming to Marval since I was a kid, and it's always been one of my favorite places to camp. That's what made this experience so disappointing. I'm not sure if there's new ownership or a change in management, but it feels like the focus has shifted toward nickel-and-diming customers instead of providing the great customer service Marval used to be known for. I hope this was just an isolated experience, but after reading other reviews it seems to be a constant problem.

We stopped at the park office and bought some cold sodas and candy. The prices were reasonable and the park ranger was helpful. The scenery is great and the park history is interesting dating back to FDR's New Deal of the 1930's. Tip: be prepared (drinks, snacks, towels, fishing poles, bait, and whatever else you need for your little adventure- a first aid kit is not a bad idea either). I wish I had spent more time here exploring, so stop at the park office first for interesting maps and literature.

We were afraid that it would be too crowded, but there were still several spots with sufficient privacy. There are scores of campgrounds (some of them right on the waterfront), lots of RV hook-ups, a playground for kids, and boating and swimming access to the lake. Although hiking is somewhat limited (there are just a few miles of trails), the scenery is beautiful, and the sunset on the water was idyllic. Very convenient as a getaway if you live in the Tulsa area; I'm sure we'll camp here again!

We paid $10 pp for the day pass and drove around the campground to see what we could see. It's a very nice campground and we loved how private and secure it felt. Sites looked very nice and we noticed a lot of big rigs which is great. They also had cabins or tiny homes that overlook the rock quarry. Pricing seems great so we'd love to come back and rent a cabin for a holiday weekend. As far as the day pass they offer a sandy area for kiddos to play in and there's cornhole set up. We were told they do tournaments on the weekends and that a taco truck also comes on weekends. We watched a guy jump off one of the cliffs which looked fun! Next time I'd love to bring our kayaks. We brought our floats and just relaxed all day. We basically had the place to ourselves for most of the day but a group of 4 did show up for about 45 min and a group of 2 girls about 30 min. Everyone was very friendly! There's a porta potty on site, picnic tables and trash cans. You definitely need floats and or life jackets because it gets very deep quickly. We loved how clear the water is and it felt very refreshing. We did see a guy throw in a line but he never caught a fish but we did see some rather large fish. Highly recommend for a fun swimming hole.

She told us all about the place, rules, suggestions, and had us sign a waiver saying basically we can't sue. And she let us borrow life jackets, which is smart because it's very deep water in most parts. There was a fatal canoe accident in May, so they aren't currently renting any water equipment, but our friends brought kayaks and paddle boards. I brought some floaties, which worked perfectly just to relax and float. We brought a picnic lunch, and used the picnic table they have, which was perfect. Overall, it's a really great clean spot just south of Muskogee 10 minutes to swim! You just have to be very careful and smart about your surroundings because there are some small cliffs you can jump from. We had the whole place to ourselves until about 1pm, and it never got crowded. My understanding is this was once a popular swim hole for free back in the day until this developer bought it to turn into a RV park. The cabins looked nice too. I'd like to keep this a bit of a secret because it could get crowded very easily, but it is a really nice activity option for folks that like to kayak, etc. we had lots of fun for $10.
