The commentators at the event didn't really say anything about what was going on for each of the 2 minute jam sessions (if that's what they're called) and didn't really say anything about the particular players or try to get the crowd involved. It was fairly dead. There weren't enough seats set out for the people who were there. So, essentially I paid $12 at the door to walk into a really crowded old and outdated roller rink which had probably 50 or so chairs set out at the far end and there were maybe 150-200 people there so everyone else was forced to stand even further back. That's a lot of money to stand for two hours. They didn't have any half time entertainment so we all just stood around and waited for the time to tick away. So for people who hadn't been to a match before it was somewhat confusing and not at all entertaining. Big disappointment.

I really can't say I know what the heck is going on but its a bunch of bad ass girls rolling around on skates throwing elbows and their booties to prevent the other team from scoring. I once witness an accident and to this day the scene plays in my head in slow motion. The injured player sat on the sidelines and waited until the game was over before going to the hospital. That's bad ass. Worth going if you can stomach a scene like I saw. Check them out at Haygood Skating Center. This ain't your Roll Bounce-type environment or your slow song at the rink kind of night. Some serious ish goes down with these gals!

The pool is located in a nice 1960-70's residential area. I am unsure when the CB complex was built, but if I had to guess in mid 70's and looks it too. Getting the area can be complicated without directions since it is so far off the beaten path. Off of Great Neck Rd. turn on Inlynview Rd. and go approximately two miles to Five Point Rd. and make a left and travel to the dead end and arrive at the pool straight ahead. Parking is almost zilch at the pool. There is some limited parking in a grass area by a storage shed to the right by an abandoned basketball court. The majority of event parking is going to be street only which ends up going down the road over a mile. Once you arrive at the pool you will walk down a steep hill to the area. The complex is located off of a body of water, however I don't know what it is. The water closest to the entrance is stagnant and looks swampy. It also creates an environment for mosquitoes on warm evenings. Bring bug spray. The wooden blue building that houses restrooms is the first building you will see. The larger building beside it houses storage, concessions. Neither one are falling down by any stretch, but they are not great shape. The pool is rectangular with a bump out for a 5 meter spring board. This is the only pool among VBSL teams that I am aware of offering a high dive. This makes it very desirable for children and for good reason. The high dive is one of the biggest draws the pool has. The small deck is a combination of concrete close to the road and wood beside the body of water. There is also deck to the far end as you enter, just not very much of it making for chaotic dual swim meets when larger teams are competing. The pool offers a five lane 25 meter course for competition. At the shallow end around 4 ft deep, under the diving area approximately 10 feet. The pool is now open and ready for members, swim team practices and meets . Club Brittany is a member of the Virginia Beach Swim League and are the "Blue Tide: I only know one of the coaches who is awesome. They are lucky to have Carol Withus hopefully on staff again who is the ODU Swimming and Diving Head Coach. I have not heard to date if she is returning, but believe she will. A warming to parents with small children that cannot swim. The body of water just outside of the pool is not supervised by staff. YOU must watch you children, the water is only a few feet, but enough to cause a tragedy. Children that can swim should never play in this area. The water is disgustingly murky. The club needs facility upgrades to bring it up to par. However, it is up and going and meets my minimum standards and is safe. If I resided in the neighborhood this pool would be a great choice due to it's proximity.

The courts were in great shape and the whole area felt tucked away and peaceful. It's never crowded, which is a big deal. We didn't have to wait for a court or feel rushed. The club is very easy to locate, but it is way off the beaten path of Virginia Beach Blvd. Turn onto Little Neck Rd. and travel approximately five miles to the club on the right. There is great signage which will guide you in to their lot. Plenty of parking is available for members. However, on swim meet days, or events it is strained. Overflow has been at the church across the street. Behind the main house is a huge open air grass space for holding out events that could be tented. The pool complex is very nice. As you walk in you will see a guard shack on the left the main building on the right. The clubhouse has a kitchen, a large open air meeting space with fireplace and restrooms. It is nothing fancy whatsoever, but it's well maintained. Smaller type of indoor events could be held here. There is a nice large splash pool for kids in the middle that offers different depths and a mushroom sprinkler. Also included is a small tube curly slide that is a huge hit with the kids. The main pool is rectangular with no bump outs. There are two diving boards, a one meter and a meter and a half spring board. The pool is six lanes 25 meter guttered pool and it's a real beauty. The concrete deck space is massive allowing for very large swim meets to be comfortably held. Little Neck swims in the Dolphin Division of the Virginia Beach Swim Team and goes by the name "Blue Dolphins" They are consistently the largest swim team in the VBSL with over 225 swimmers. You must be a member of the club in order to swim on the team. LN is very good team that wins titles. The officiating crew led by Meet Referee Bill Gill does a great job preparing the pool for dual meets. This is my forth year assisting the team and I have found their volunteers to be accommodating to visitors. The club has always run a first class swim meet and most years host the final championship meet "All-Stars" of the season. Although I cannot vouch for the tennis portion of this club I can tell you the aquatics portion is really top notch and many of the members I know personally friendly. If interested in a tennis/pool club this is one of the nicer one you will find in Virginia Beach.

Main parking lot fills quickly and can be tight to navigate leading up to game times; there's a gravel driveway near the far left field that leads to an ancillary lot with 10 more spaces. Look for the dumpster. They offer 5 ball fields in total: 1 "major" level field with metal fencing and full protective netting, 1 "minor/coach pitch" level field with extended metal fencing and 3 other "minor/coach pitch" level field with sparse metal fencing. Each has their own scoreboard and announcer boxes; the snack bar is tucked beneath the third field's announcer box. Sadly, the PA system for the third field was mostly inaudible buzzing and 100% HORRIBLE, as if it were from radio shack or Montgomery Wards in 1970. It's your child's big moment to be introduced/announced but the sound is worse than a broken drive through system. #Fail. I'm no conspiracy theorist but there was a weird working vs non-working audio correlation depending on which team required the announcement, not in our team's favor! As for field playing conditions: lines were chalked, grass was cut, infield was fairly raked and an orange temporary fence was installed to reduce the outfield boundary. The dugouts were the usual caves with a long wooden bench for ball players. There are metal bleachers for spectators but beware of the off-field lack of shade; there's nowhere to hide from the sun. Also, there are no playgrounds or buffer spaces for non-player children!
