Horrible. Find a different charter. No communication, disorganized, and will charge you for no reason.

Ask the Community - Great Lakes Guide Service

Is this charter still operating?

When is the best time of the year to catch fish on Lake Michigan? We are planning a family trip to Muskegon July 28th, is that too late to catch some big fish?

It would be best to go to their website and look at their fishing report to best gauge if it's the best time.

We also were able to catch a very large King Salmon, the largest Steelhead Trout they had seen in those waters and 3 Lake Trout.

After 6 years, things have really changed! Love the new expansions with the swinging dining area and the stages, the ambiance make this place truly a muskegon gem. You must put The Deck on your list to try when visiting the beach side!

The Deck has amazing vibes being right on the Lake Michigan shoreline…read more This beach bar sits right next to Pere Marquette Beach and Muskegon South Lighthouse; sharing a parking lot with both. It's $10 parking for the day or free on Wednesdays! But, this is of no fault of the business since parking is managed by the city. My crew and I enjoyed a day at the beach then made our way over to the Deck for dinner. The Deck didn't take reservations however getting on their waitlist was easy. While waiting for your table, you can wait inside and grab a drink. Within 10 minutes we were notified and seated. The summer vibes were unmatched. There is a stage for live bands to play, plenty of seating including adirondack chairs and swings, and outdoor games like foosball, connect four, jenga, and cornhole. Despite the trendy atmosphere, our food was underwhelming. We ordered the Crispy Chicken Strips and Hand-Battered Walleye. The chicken was dry and the walleye slider was flavorless. I'd definitely come again, but eat before and stick to the drinks.
