You would think that waiting 30 minutes to get your ID picture printed versus waiting just a few…read moreseconds would put old-fashioned film developing studios like Kodak out of business. But surprisingly, there are still a lot of loyal customers, myself included. I don't know why I choose to wait that long in this digital age. Maybe it's because the quality of the prints are much nicer. They also have other services like layout of prints and studio shots (like what they had in the early 90's with the psychedelic cloth background). One more think I love about Kodak Express is that they sell the film for Instax. I love old instant print/ Polaroid cameras and Fuji's Instax is as close as I can get to that. They maybe old-fashioned but Kodak and it's film development process is still very much appreciated in this modern world.

So discovering that film is very much alive in this Kodak branch has kept me sane for quite a while now. The developing process has been really efficient too - I get my scanned negatives after two days at a rate that's much cheaper than all those specialized film developing studios.

Do not come here. Manager and staff are rude. I walked in and had to get passport photos taken. I…read moresaid "excuse me" 12 times before I got a response. The Manager said "Get a number." So I did. I walked out of the store for a minute to make sure there were no other photo places around. I walk back in. No one is using a number card they still didn't want to serve me. Finally, 15 minutes later. (Note: Time in store is 30 minutes.) They take my photo. Only to find out that it'll take 45 minutes to print. They took my money, gave me a receipt. I asked if there was any way to expedite, they said yes but wouldn't do it. Manager and staff are all rude and have no people skills. I suggest the owner fire all staff and the manager - and hire more accountable people. Stay away from this place. Staff will not even look at you when you ask to use their service. They'll make you wait for 30 minutes before serving you even when no one is around.

They have so many items available for use of artists which cannot be found in bookstores. Being the premiere art supply store, they have a wide range of products, from brushes, paints, paper, pencils, etcetera. This goes for even supporting materials such as thinners, binding mediums, and other art-related needs. Being not so familiar with and not comfortable in exploring painting mediums, I recently called them to ask for advice as to what I can use for an upcoming project. I needed to use a paint that would adhere well to textile, will be permanent despite washing, but needs to likewise have the correct consistency for brush calligraphy. With a short discussion of my options, I knew what I needed and even had my orders prepared already for payment and pick-up. Indeed, it pays to go to a specialized shop for, well, special art needs.

There are canvasses of all sizes ready to be spread with acrylics, oils, watercolors, pastels, etc. There are reasonably-priced, artist grade brushes. There are craft foams, polymer clays, charcoals, and a lot more. If there is something that I need for a craft or a project, I immediately look for it in Deovir. And I get a sinking feeling if I cannot find it in their shelves, because that means that I am unlikely to find it anywhere else locally. The staff are very helpful, and they know what they are talking about. There was this time when I was assembling a painting kit as a gift, and a friendly salesperson gladly discussed the comparative pros and cons of acrylic and oil, and why the former might be better suited for a novice than the latter. Seriously, I look for excuses to visit this store even though I know that it's not good for my wallet. They also have an online shop but sadly, the online inventory is very limited.
