Initially they offered comparable pricing for plowing our driveway, however they required that we pay for a contract up front. This guaranteed a certain number of visits per winter with no refund if they did fewer. The first few years they were OK and I appreciated their level of communication and their promptness. However there were several times when the work was definitely lacking - very minimal effort made to plow our driveway, leaving a packed down layer of snow that quickly iced over and became worse than had it never been plowed. When this happened it required hours of shoveling on our part to make it navigable. Emails to the company politely requesting more thorough service went unanswered. They also tend to "charge" double when there's a major snow, meaning you use up two of your allotted plow visits for one snow. This year, the price went up appreciably from around $250 prepaid to over $450 prepaid for the same number of visits. As of mid-January we've had one snow event that triggered service. They did a middling job of plowing the driveway. Snow and ice still remained in strips and a mound of snow and dirt was left in the street right in front of the drive. They also did not clear the front steps and walk as they have in the past. This was not a major snow event and I am concerned what kind of job will be done if/when we have more than a few inches of snow. For the amount we pre-pay regardless of whether they come, I'd definitely expect better. I'm waiting to see what the proposed price is next year, but also plan to start shopping around for better service. To be clear, I wouldn't object to the price if they did a thorough and consistent job that never required "rework", but that's not the case.
