My husband and I went in on Tuesday for a haircut. Went there a long time ago and our hairdresser was healing from surgery so decided to go for a cut. I think the girl I got was very new to the business and I should have waited. This has got to be the worst cut I've ever had. She was supposed to layer the back and that was not done. My left side is about half an inch longer than the right side all over. It is my fault for not checking it better but I had been in the chair for awhile and was ready to go. Nothing was blended in just chopped. I did leave a tip but that was before I could see what she had done. I don't think I will be going back. read more

This review is based on an unacceptable, terrible experience, which involved, deceit, and someone who is mostly concerned with what time it is, making sure to shut down early, and it is a below average way to conduct oneself. I hope it was worth it to her. Whatever amazing glands apparently she had on 5 July superseded doing her job the right way. I like to keep records, and the pictures are right below. Management, please take note. I would want to know if I were in your shoes, as I am a manager/partner, and would not stand for this. FIRSTLY: I have the concrete data showing when I arrived, and that unfortunately, there is certainly one employee at this business who will lie right to your face. See my picture, which shows the arrival time, and the fact that she waited till I was there for a bit before saying it was closed. in addition, someone was right in the middle of a haircut when I got there. * She has a lot of nerve to lie straight to my face; not just one lie, but two lies that support her fake narrative. I'm just curious if she believes the things that are coming out of her mouth. * I would love management to look at this and send this woman to training on dealing with people and sticking to business procedures. She clearly needs extra training, along with a better attitude, and a friendlier disposition, given she is working with the public.. This woman, and I really wish I saw her name, flat out, said that the computers were off. in all of her rambling, she then says, "well, it's 7 o'clock now." YEAH, BECAUSE YOU WERE IN THE BACK WHEN I WALKED IN, THEN YOU WASYED TIME BY TALKING (in this case, the word talking is synonymous with lying) . * you burned a good few minutes with your BS and since you don't seem to be aware, time doesn't stop while we wait for you to make your way to the front and be dishonest and you're ridiculous explanation! So maybe save that for a sucker because I'm not that guy! Even better, don't take advantage of people! That's low. Regarding Computer Being Off ---- 1.) POOR SERVICE #1: Well, that's interesting because that WOULD HAVE MEANT (if she hadn't lied) that she shut down BEFORE closing time) AND someone was in the earlier part of their haircut. My great-grandson and I both went to Great Clips on New Year's Eve. We were walk-ins and the wait was around 3 minutes. He had Yolanda and I had Suzanne. I would highly recommend either one of them. They listened to what we wanted and went slow and easy, not to take too much off. Then if I wanted it shorter, they could accommodate. I love the way they both turned out and feels so much better. I thought, a few months ago, I had found the perfect place to take my 85 year old mother to get her hair cut. My Mom liked when Amanda cut her hair and because of Mom's dementia we try to stay consistent with who she sees. First, the online check in is for the convenience of the staff...definitely not for the customer. I'm unable to actually call in to make an appointment with a specific person. I was told I could only know what days Amanda worked. I explained that my Mom was elderly, had dementia and can really only sit in her wheelchair for a certain period of time or it starts to become painful. No assistance whatsoever. I "checked in" online on one of Amanda's work days and was told there was 0 minutes waiting time. When we got there 15 mins later we were the first name on the list, but then informed was that everyone was in a meeting. Estimated wait time 20 mins. If everyone was in a meeting....why allow for online check ins with a 0 min wait? Mom really wanted her hair cut so we waited. We watched the screen rack up a waiting time that bounced between 45-60 minutes. When I informed the staff person at the desk that my Mom really needed to see Amanda and that she was starting to feel uncomfortable and confused. I was told it would be another 20 mins. We had already been there 45 mins. My Mom just shook her head and said she wanted to go home. I will never take my Mom there again nor will I ever recommend this business. They were completely lacking in understanding, compassion and professionalism. read more

Went here the other day despite my better judgement due to the other reviews. But I took a chance and I regret it. I asked for a trim and she cut off nearly two inches. My hair was only shoulder length to begin with so that's a big difference. The layers are choppy and there is zero blending. I've been wearing my hair curly and now it's impossible. It's probably the worst haircut I've ever had. I now have to get it fixed and will probably have to lose more length and I've been trying to grow it out. Never again. read more

Worse experience ever! The ladies there are not experience one bit, well at least the ones my husband and son went to. When my husband haircut was done he had patches of long hair. The lady did fix with no problem. The one my son went to left his hair long. When I asked if she can fade it out shorter, she had such an attitude. Still wasn't able to fix it. Was rolling her eyes the whole time. When I asked her if she knows how to fade she stated she had many years experience. I doubt that. Still paid for the horrible hair cuts. I stopped by for a haircut. The haircut turned out ok. It was a total of $21 so I made it $25. Not a terrific tip I suppose but I wasn't wow'd. Checking my bank statement later that same day, I found they withdrew $30 total. Without approval the lady just gave herself almost a 50 percent tip. To me, that's stealing. And quite a raise for herself. Now, I correct yelp reviews for businesses. In this case however I won't be offering those services.. and I hope whoever reads this doesn't risk it. Terrible service. I asked for a trim and the girl cut off over 8 inches. She didn't listen to anything I asked for and my hair is extremely uneven and short. When I told her it wasn't what I wanted she told me it was what looked best. I also got bangs that I didn't ask for as well. Don't waste your time just spend the extra money to go to a real salon. Had a less than impressive experience with Great Clips today. I got there just as they opened at 10 am. Went inside and checked in. I was told the wait would be about 20 minutes and she would call me when it was my turn. Because of the Covid I couldn't wait inside, so went out and sat in my truck. After 30 minutes I went back in and asked the same girl how much longer. She wasn't willing to tell me other than as soon as she finished with her current customer and they cleaned up I would be next. I went back out and waited a few more minutes before finally giving up and leaving. It's now been 2-1/2 hours and no phone call. Too bad I can't give them less than 1 star. "Great Clips"? I took my son to get his haircut at the Yuba City location. I thought when we got to the salon it would be in and out since there was only one person getting a haircut. my son asked for a low fade, what he got wasn't a low fade. don't get me wrong the haircut turned out fine. However, it wasn't what was asked for. My son is only ten and didn't have to heart to tell the stylist that he didn't like it. He told me once I got home and so I called them and told them my son wasn't satisfied. All they could say was there was nothing they can do as I heard the stylist in the background stating "he got exactly what he asked for." Wasn't the worst haircut I've ever gotten but definitely not a great one either. I needed a haircut desperately, it had been about a year. I wasn't sure if I had enough length too donate. She measured it and said I had just enough... i wanted a longer slightly layered aline that didn't go high enough too shave the back of my neck. What I got was a hacked mess... i have thick hair and always get it thinned one side of my head is overly thinned and all chopped up and the other has no layers and not thinned. Looks bad when I straighten it. Thankfully there's enough to curl and that's the only way it looks half way decent. As I sat there she just kept cutting and cutting I started to get worried.. this was not a longer aline at all but very short aline in the back and way to long and messed up in the front. I will never take my son to this location ever again! First off we waited for about 40 minutes. Then, the girl starts cutting his hair and decides that she won't continue cutting his hair because he's crying and to come back to finish the haircut, leaving his hair uneven and patchy, to the point that I had to put a hat because how horrible it was. She still ends up charging us full price and assuring us that we wouldn't be charged twice. When I took him back, she's not there and the person there tells me that I have to pay full price again! After arguing for about 15 mins she tells me she will do it this time for free. She starts cutting his hair and since she keeps messing up she ends up cutting it extremely short and leaves patches around the ears. In the end she still had the courage to charge me half price and state that I'm lucky because she found a coupon. I will never go back to this location! Beware Staff does not listen to your desire had to go back to bald. Thought we were clear on thining my hair out I asked what number she thought it was. I made it clear I wanted it to be thin out by scissors but they just didn't listen. They went ahead and used clippers to #6 then thinned it out. My head looked like a cheese ball. Being new to the area I do not have a regular stylist so I went to Great Clips in Yuba City on 12/8/15 around 10 a.m. BIG mistake - I haven't had a haircut this horrible since I was 8 yrs old and my mother took me to a barber shop rather than a salon. The stylist asked me at least 7 questions about how to cut my hair. She had the other stylist, Claudia, check her work (l knew things were not going well then). She corrected the uneven cut but my stylist continue to cut my hair. I have a layered cut which I wanted but the layers are shorter on one side and do not blend in when blown dry. Stylist asked if I wanted her to blow dry my hair and I said yes please. She "dried" my hair for less than 10 seconds leaving me to run my errands with a wet, lousy haircut. I miss my awesome hairdresser I had for 12 years before moving to CA. Never again. read more

I have only gotten my hair cut at this locations. I had good experiences until this last time I went in. There were three young ladies who were working. They were all talking to each other very loudly about all their clients. They were judge mental and VERY rude. They were more focus on the gossip than their clients. I waited 30 mins for them to check me in. After 2 hours I walked out and I never plan on going there again. I'm only giving them 3 stars because of the past good experiences. read more

Now im gonna either have to cut it down to 1 or idk. My hair was about 6+inches long and somewhat curly. So i asked for: cut the top at least 1/2 off the top, a fade on the sides from 1, and a parting line cut( since i do a comb over. I came with a come over). What i got was: top cut short(3") and the sides cut 1 all the way to the top to look like a mohawk. Wow! Basically a very high military high and tight. Ive read a review here or on google from a women stating here husband was given the same cut. So if you value you hair stay away from the arab or east Indian looking stylist. As for me i just wanted this hair off so im not angry. Ill just skip this place even for my "i dont care cut". Also i got the worst beard trim. I wanted to even it out. That would have gotten me angry but i need to shave it for a job in a few days. Also its $15 here while the place i regularly go to cost $20. My husband and I both want to say: Stay away from this place! They ruined both of our hair cuts. My hair was long and I just wanted a straight cut just above my shoulders. Easy, right? Wrong...My hair was cut just below my ears and instead of a blunt cut, there are uneven layers sticking out that cannot be cut yet, because it is so short. Worst haircut ever!!!! My husband's hair looks like a modified Mohawk. shaved on sides and back and long in the front. He looks ridiculous!!
