Being that this trip's stay has been longer than expected, I took the chance of trying this shop. As soon as I walked in, I couldn't have felt more welcomed. Richard (barber I had an appt with) was so genuine and you could tell how much he really cares for each person he meets. Even the barbers that were waiting for their clients to arrive, made conversation with me and made me feel like I wasn't just a visitor. All that to say- Rich gave me one of the best haircuts I've had in years. If you're in town visiting or a local, I highly recommend this place!

I don't want short". I told her I wanted the back left "filled in". Gone. I told her I liked "my curls in back". Gone. I told her I wanted my ears to stay covered. Gone. Sophie actually SHAVED my low back hairline so I'm left with a 5-o'clock shadow until the 1/2" buzz she left higher on the back of my head grows down enough to blend in or cover it...and it's going to be a long, long time until that happens. It's been over 2 weeks and the reality of the unflattering, unbecoming mess Sophie "created" and the time it's going to take to even become ok has hit home. You know it's a bad haircut when not ONE person compliments or mentions it. Sophie knew I wasn't happy when I left but another client was already there, so rather than sharing my annoyance, I politely paid (and tipped!) and even booked a color for the future. The very next day I called to cancel the color, Sophie never asked why, she just said "ok". The upside is I won't have to pay for another haircut for another year or so (seriously - that's how OVER cut this mess is!). I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I had to take my glasses off for the cut and was shocked to see to top and sides of my hair cut to within 2" of my head- the exact opposite of what I tried to reinforce. In addition the back is completely chopped. It's short but it is hacked up. It's the first time I have ever let a hairdresser know how unhappy I was and that I'm leaving a bad review. I told her to just work her magic. I just didn't want to see the bald spot in the back and I wanted to look like I had thicker hair. She took the time to show me how to use the blow dryer and round bush and showed me several styling tricks. She showed me how to apply the lifting spray and hair spray tricks. I was shocked when she finished with my hair. My cut was the best I have ever had. I can't begin to tell you how many compliments I have had. At 73 years old that makes you feel really good.
