My uncle has been a customer in this salon in Leesville, SC, for about 4 years. Olivia is awesome and she knows how to cut cowlicks.
On Friday, July 12, he went to the salon to get his hair cut. When he arrived, Olivia wasn't there but a woman he had never met before was there. He was not able to get her name but she is a new hire, is heavy set, with brown greasy hair. When he asked for Olivia, this woman abruptly told him to leave. He was taken aback. He said he had an appointment, but she said Olivia wasn't there and again told him to leave. He did.
He then called the salon on Saturday and this woman answered. He asked if Olivia was working and she said "no," and hung up the phone. Had it been me, I would have sent an email like this immediately, and never gone back again. But he has had such a hard time finding someone who could cut his hair well in the past, he went back again yesterday, Wednesday July 17. When he walked in, the woman and Olivia were both there. The woman told him SHE was going to cut his hair. He explained that he had come in to have Olivia cut his hair. And that Olivia had been cutting his hair for 4 years. The woman said it was her turn and either she was cutting his hair or he had to leave. Olivia sat there with tears in her eyes but didn't say anything. The woman angrily told my uncle to "get out and if he didn't leave she would have someone physically remove him from the salon." He left in shock.
This behavior is obviously completely unacceptable in any service business. If this woman continues to work at your salon, you will lose more than this one customer.
I hope Great Clips will address this situation. If not, I hope Olivia will find a new salon where customers can come and not be subjected to abuse. read more
