Even though I have a horrible cowlick, she showed me how to blow dry it out and attempt to style it. She was sweet as can be and she did show me how to blow dry it. I had no complaints. It just wasn't laying the way we expected and she talked about framing my face in or something. It just wasn't working for me so I went back in today to see if we could get it to lay better. I explained to the girl today that I was already given the lesson on how to correct it but would really like to follow my cowlick instead. She tried several times to give me the same exact lesson, completely ignoring what I was saying and chopping away. I know hair cannot be put back. But Sunday, there was mention of additional cuts from there that might lay better. I wish she was there. After trying a few times to talk about layers and what we talked about on Sunday. She turns to her coworker and says, "My first customer, a complainer" I ignored her and was just trying to get this fixed. Then she throws her hands up in aisle says, "My first customer, such a joy" I took her cape off and walked out. Came back quickly to ask for the managers card when they both continued barking "Lady" that she is the manager and her dad was sick. They don't need this. Both yelling at me like it I sign they're paychecks. After which I was chased out of the store by the male coworker as he screamed for me to "Get out!" and it's not worth his $14 an hour. I should have gotten the girls card from Sunday but I definitely will not return especially to this location and for safety reasons. Edited to add that my hair is ridiculous now. Because she wouldn't stop and listen. She just kept chopping on my bangs and making nasty comments. She ruined my hair. Editing again to reply to a response... It is absolutely silly to think that I was asking for a free $10 haircut. Please! Again, I was not complaining. She would not hear anything that I said beyond the fact that I was in on Sunday and the initial cut wasn't laying the way I expected. It wasn't anything the girl from Sunday did. They should have security footage and can see exactly how things happened. And I will continue to post my story and find more places to post my story just to combat ignorant statements like this. People need to be held accountable. I'm sorry she was having a bad day but I did not deserve for her to lash out at me. She should not have returned to the public if she was not ready. I did not deserve that. From either of them.

The staff here is super friendly and they are quick in cutting your hair. I would use the Great Clips app since it's hit or miss if you're a walk-in. I tried last week to do a walk in appointment and it was a 2 hour wait but the weekend I did get my haircut there wasn't a wait.

It makes me very sad to write this review as I LOVED coming here. This would have been my 3rd time…read morecoming here for a hair cut/brow wax and I was so excited. I went online a week prior to my appointment date and scheduled my appointment for the first available stylist. The day of my appointment I received a text from the stylist doing my hair that her grandfather was ill and she would be unavailable for our appointment and requested we rescheduled. I informed her that I work all day the following day and then would be leaving for a trip the day after that(reason I wanted to get my hair done). I asked if there was any other stylist available to do my hair to which she said yes and scheduled me with them. Less than 3 hours later I receive another text from the new stylist stating that she saw I tried to schedule for this evening and there must have been a mistake because she does not have enough time in her schedule and that my appointment will be cancelled. I replied back to her with the screenshot conversation with the previous stylist that had scheduled me with her to explain the situation and again asked if anyone else would be available this evening to cut my hair. She then replies that she understood and that if I came in with clean dry hair that she could do me but not enough time to wash my hair. Normally as I would not be bothered by this I am quite annoyed with everything that as already taken place and because the times I came in prior was during covid and they were not washing hair but still changing the full price as if the full service was completed. That never bother me because again I understand covid but now and after this cancelling on me its quite annoying. To top of the last reason why I am done with this place is because they have done something to the similar nature to my mother. At the beginning of April 2022 my mother was getting ready to go into the hospital for a bone marrow transplant and would be receiving chemotherapy and losing her hair. She has always had long really curly hair and she wanted to go to a salon that understood how to work with hair like hers and was also covid friendly due to her being immune compromised(she wanted it shorted so it wasnt so dramatic when falling out.) I told her about west oak and how I LOVED it there and all the stylist were great and would take great care of her and they are also covid friendly by only allowing a certain amount of customers in the building and not allowing customers to bring guests with them; as well as mask options. She was so excited and immediately hopped online to schedule an appointment. However she noticed she would need to enter credit card information for cancelation policies; where she normally would have no issues with this and would just schedule she became concerned that given her condition she could have to go to the hospital at any moment for blood, platelets etc. Because of this she did not feel comfortable scheduling, became discouraged and ultimately did not schedule and refused to allow me to use my card information. I felt awful and really wanted to help her make this happen so I hopped on facebook and message the west oak salon facebook page explaining our situation and asked if there was anyway to help work with us. Someone replied and was more than happy to help and scheduled my mom manually for us so no card information was needed. She received a text confirming her appointment and even a reminder. HOWEVER the day of her appointment she shows up and NO ONE has ANY knowledge of her appointment and made her reschedule to a different day. THERE IS NO COMMUNATION IN THIS PLACE BETWEEN EMPLOYEES!!!
