So, I am new to the Prescott Great Clips on Sandretto Drive. Went in, waited a pretty short amount of time, so there's that. The girl that did my hair, I wanted a short hairstyle and brought a picture, said if she couldn't do it, to do a pixie. Well, she starts and gets a bit off, then asked how I liked it, I said shorter. She proceeded to cut it shorter, but failed to measure the sides, hair over my ears which I HATE, hair sticking out behind both sides of my ears...no textur, no product offered..I paid $26 for this? I realize they do cheaper haircuts, but me being a senior, do they not offer a discount for that? Phoenix does...next haircut will have to make the drive I guess...for now, now I have to go to another stylist to fix her screw up.. not happy at all. read more

I've been a regular at Great Clips for over 10 years and have seen many stylists come and go. Over that time, I've received both excellent haircuts and a few that left me disappointed. Unfortunately, my worst experiences have been with Martha, the manager. She works extremely fast--usually finishing a haircut in under six minutes--but in my case, that speed came at the cost of quality. I've decided not to have her cut my hair again. On the flip side, Mara was one of the best stylists I've had there. She always took the time to listen to what I wanted, was patient, and consistently gave me great results. A few weeks ago, I called to see if she was working and was told she had "moved on." I found out that Mara is now at SmartStyle in Walmart. So, if you're looking for a quality haircut from someone who truly cares about their craft, I highly recommend visiting Mara. The stylist that cut my hair did not listen to what I wanted. I showed her a photo of what I wanted as well as described how I wanted the cut. I even asked her if she wanted to see the picture after she washed my hair and before she began cutting. She said no, she knew what I wanted. She cut my hair so short that there is no resemblance to the photo or my instructions. She did whatever she wanted without regard to my wishes. It has been a month and it is still too short for me to work with. I gave her 2 stars because the cut is nice but not for me! It looks like my 90 year old mother's wig! My friend went the next day to the same person and I warned my friend to make sure she is clear and show her the desired photo style several times, which she did. The cut was nothing like what my friend wanted either. Won't ever go back there!!!! read more

Both my cousin and I went here and requested the same hair cut from the same lady. We showed her a picture and asked for short in the front, and long in the back. The lady said that it would be better to have long in the front, and short in the back, which I didn't exactly ask for but she must of known what she was talking about... she said she cut 2 inches off the back and 1 off the front. AND IT LOOKED AWFUL!!! It is not even at all and doesn't even resemble what I asked for.. Not to mention my cousins hair as well, where they said they cut 6 inches off the back and 1 off the front... Keep in mind we didn't ask for that.. She did not cut that much at all and just cut a weird spot in the Middle off.... We ended up going back and asking for the manager to fix our hair.... My latest experience was horrible. I arrived 15 minutes early from my online check-in scheduled time and was curtly told by Mara there would be an hour wait. Somehow there were 6 people ahead of me on the computer screen. Since the were only 2 people sitting in the shop waiting, I couldn't understand any reason for an hour wait. I stepped up to the screen to view closer and Mara said she already told me I have to wait and now I'd would have to leave because she wouldn't allow me get my haircut. She was rude, insulting, raised her voice and was completely unprofessional. I will call HR on Monday and see what they can do to find her a different line of work. read more

My hair stylist canceled on me last minute for my engagement photos. We are from out of town and came all the way down just for the shoot. Being Sunday everything was closed, great clips was my last resort! I checked in online, got there just to find out they weren't doing styling due to Covid, which literally makes ZERO sense (all I wanted was a super simple curl). I broke down due to this situation. This is easily the worst place to go to. They don't really listen to your request. The hairstylists have no idea of what an actual fade is. Today was a horrible experience once I arrived home and washed the product out of my hair. Very puffy and not blended well. Have been going here for about a year and this is disappointing. Seems like they are becoming more and more rushed. On top of it not being blended correctly, my neck line was barely touched. I will be seeking an alternative place for haircuts. Worst place ever! Martha states she is the manager and yet she was speaking badly about people loudly, embarrassed a man that had silver roots state my " You need to take care of that ok!" She was acting like she was on something, as it was my turn and she said "get in the chair missy" she is out of control in her words and actions. These ladies are hard working and I've been going to great clips my entire life. I love Marina, she is fantastic. I love the check-in app. It saves me a lot of time. I tried supercuts once and it was horrible. I tried this sports place that rubbed your shoulders and then gasped at the $24 bill. Great clips if easy on the wallet and quick if you know how to use a cell phone app :) They will even store your haircut style in the database. I don't have to explain how to cut my hair I just tell them to do it the same as usual. This works at all locations. Cottonwood, Phoenix wherever your head goes. read more

Horrible, awful haircut. Totally uneven. Horrible customer service. My teen wanted a swath on the side of her head above her ear cut super short. I did it to my hair when I was a teen in the 80's, and I turned out to be a well-balanced and responsible citizen who contributes to her community, and my daughter is a really good girl, so I give her leeway on these things. We were telling the female stylist what we wanted for my daughter's hair and before we could finish our sentence she took out the clippers and started shaving(down to the skin!) the side of my daughter's head, not trimming the side down to a 1/4 of an inch, like we had asked. She wouldn't listen to anything we were saying, as she had it in her own mind that she knew what we wanted. We waited a bit for her to make it right, and she just kept making it worse, but was so proud of herself and thought she did a really good job. So we just left instead of letting her do anymore damage. It was like we were talking to a brick wall. Fantastic Sam's is better, but they were closed at that time, so we took a chance on Great Clips. Never again. Wish I could post a picture of my daughter's hair, it looks like a three year old cut it. I have never written a review like this before, as I always give people the benefit of the doubt, and see the best in them. But this was totally out of line, and I don't want other people to have their hair messed up. If you go in there, you better be very very assertive, and tell the woman in there that she must listen to you if she tries to interrupt you and tries to start cutting. Then I'd even double check and make sure that she repeats back to you exactly what you want so that you are clear that she understands. read more

Do not go here. My boyfriend went in for a very simple haircut and they butchered his head. She literally gave him a cone head haircut and it looks absolutely horrible. He is currently in our restroom shaving his head because there is no possible way of even trying to fix her mess up. If you can't do your job find a different job. Today I got one of the worst haircuts I've ever gotten. I asked the girl, Michelle, that I wanted a trim and I wanted layers. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and then I told her I wanted my hair thinned out because I have pretty thick hair. She went on to give me ugly layers that don't even blend into my hair and NO THINNING OUT WAS DONE. The girls at this place really need to learn to listen.
