Great basin college allows for people to be mediocre because they allow students to retake exams and redo assignments. If a student is really needing to redo stuff they are not good enough to be in that program. Especially when it comes to your health programs students that did nothing but retake assignments all the time should not be passing up other students to enter programs that were normally straight A students. I attended Great Basin College in its early days, from 1980 -1985. The instructors were incredible, offering advanced courses in the Summer, when the facility was a Community College. They were a pioneering entity in using telecourses & bringing University professors in. I was married with 2 small children & couldn't take a full load, but everyone helped students, from office staff to the Dean of Students who offered a course in Chaucer when he discovered my interest. It has been of tremendous benefit to local business, as well. read more

Do not go here! They will work with you at first and then never respond to emails, calls, voicemails etc. If you are in NV it is probably an average school but for online students it is a nightmare. Save your money and go someplace else. read more

Please don't go here!! I have taken a lot of online classes over the years from several different schools and GBC has been by far the worst experience in my time as a distance learner. It feels more like the staff is trying to work against you than they are trying to work with you. Their refund policy is also atrocious! Don't waste your time and money here. read more

I absolutely love this college! I transferred over from a different school due to us having to move, and this made the transition so much easier. Their prices for the online courses are amazing, and the Early Childhood Education Department is just wonderful! I love Great Basin College, and I am so happy I found it! :) read more

This college's financial aid staff is a joke at best. Everyone gives different information, NONE of it is correct, very frustrating and no help at all. read more
