Everything was absolutely delicious! Our guests had different dietary requirements - gluten free, vegetarian, etc. - and there was something for everyone. The presentation of the food on the platters was lovely, and perfectly appropriate for setting out for a dinner party. Deb, the owner, is an amazing chef and a pleasure to work with. Tina and her crew catered our wedding at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle in Detroit,…read moreand everybody loved it. She was friendly, thorough, thoughtful and we got a lot of positive comments about the presentation, variety and flavor of the food. This was especially impressive, since the entire menu was vegetarian, and this was not a crowd that necessarily has much patience for the wacky bride and groom's eating habits. We initially contact Golden Spice because it was on the preferred caterer list; I live in Georgia, and very much wanted a caterer who was familiar with the venue, since I wasn't there to handle the ins-and-outs myself. Her website didn't do much for me -- the photo links were broken, and I didn't find much of a trace of Golden Spice here or on other review sites -- but she was extremely prompt with communication and the first to send me a menu based on our specifications. We talked over the type of reception it would be -- relatively casual, 60-80 people, beer and wine, and most important to us, entirely vegetarian. Vegetarian food isn't a specialty for her, but she was down with trying anything, and confident we could cook up something nice. We decided to develop a menu based on stations, where people could circulate, chat, and get up to grab some food throughout the evening. What she came back with was very Detroit themed, with tons of variety and completely veggie-friendly. Still, we shopped around, talking with other caterers on the preferred list, and some who specialize in vegetarian, vegan or raw menus. Some were just as friendly, but none were as easy to get in touch with and the price difference was stark. Tina and I reworked the menu to include a vegetarian soul food station, settled on a beer-and-wine arrangement wherein we'd buy the beer and wine and they'd serve it, and she worked out linen rental with another Detroit company. She helped me to develop a rain plan, in case our outdoor ceremony venue was washed out, and was a completely calm, friendly, mom-like presence throughout the final harried weeks. I would absolutely recommend her for anything from a backyard barbecue to a wedding celebration. I'll say, too, that she was extremely friendly with everyone at the reception, but she checked back frequently to make sure my husband and I were eating, that our wine glasses were full and that we were happy. What more could we have asked for?

Based…read morein the metro Detroit area, I have had the pleasure of eating at Regina's at several Food Truck & Farmers' Market Events: The Royal Oak Farmers' Market, The Birmingham Farmers' Market, and other food truck events/rallies. Her menu is known for her tacos and quesadillas that are authentic. My personal favorite is the chicken or steak tacos, served in corn tortillas and topped with generous amounts of cilantro and onions. That being said, you can request to have what you please on your tacos, but as-is they are served "street-style." The food truck also offers a variety of salsas to top on your tacos or with a side of tortilla chips. Don't sleep on the red salsa! It is absolutely amazing. You can tell that her ingredients are extremely high quality and very fresh for not only the tacos, but also the salsas. Definitely would recommend checking out Regina's food truck!

We picked a venue that was a raw space and all vendors were offsite and a la carte. From the beginning I had the most comfortable feeling with our Catering Director and her team. Just for that, after interviewing a few vendors, I knew I had to go with them. Samm was BEYOND the best and my savior! Throughout the entire year of planning the wedding, never did i feel like i was bothering her with any questions. HUGE! Especially when you are planning your own wedding. Once we got closer to the week and day, each and every communication was SPOT ON with the guest counts, ordering the cake, the menu and making revisions... even down to the week of helping with setting up the venue!!!! We did a strolling buffet (although I think the venue layout and our Priest' 45 minute homily made things late) with an amazing antipasto spread of meats, cheeses, peppers -- the Italian works, salads, a mashed potato bar served in mini martini glasses (hello! Are you kidding), beef carving station, paste and chicken spedini! The food was A HIT! The beef was perfectly cooked, our chicken spedini amazing, 3 types of mashed potatoes that were to die for! The desserts were amazing and not too much was left over. Our guests were completely happy and raved how amazing everything turned out (as being the bride and groom we couldn't get a bite in!! The staff tried!).. The staff .. the staff was awesome, friendly and accommodating to us all night! Honestly I felt so special! Samm was at the event from set up to sun down... really -- I can't tell you what she meant to me and having her throughout my entire experience. She was talking with my bridesmaid the day throughout the day (how amazing is THAT!) Worth every single penny! I wish I had photos to show!!! Thank you for making our wedding EPIC!
