The morning began with our daughter sitting in an Intro to Biology class, the ratio was 1 to 30. Next was a tour that included visiting their new eco "Idea Center", the dorm space, the library, the fitness room, and the psychology building to name a few. They treated us to lunch so we could experience their dining system. The food was fresh and the variety satisfied every appetite. We interviewed with the director of admissions who gave us a lot of tips and information. We visited with two professors who gave us information on what to major and minor. We had three separate host/hostess throughout the day who answered nearly any question. There's a lot of social events, clubs & organizations, on site concerts (like Post Malone!!) that really isn't published anywhere on the AC website. The opportunity to meet people and to be involved in something fun is definitely available, you certainly can believe that when you visit the campus. Obviously visiting Austin College is the best way to decide if you like it. We had all of our answers by the end of the day.

Take it from someone who worked here! It is unsanitary! Kids were playing with a dead rat outside! and instead of the teacher washing their hands, they used wipes. When brought up to the manager she laughed and said she'd take care of it later. It is still outside for children to pick up! It never got handled. The children's toys are NEVER CLEANED! They use expired milk to give your kids!! The manager lets her children run around the school doing whatever they want! The pay for teachers is very low and even lower for the floaters. The manager watches the cameras on her free time judging every single teacher and gossiping. I was told I would be a floater and I got floater pay. Not teacher pay. Yet was expected to be a teacher and exhaust myself trying to keep eyes on all students cause the primary teachers don't do their job when the floater comes in to help. It's not helping! You are expected to do their job entirely for not the same pay! I left when I was told I would be filling in for a teacher that called out sick in the toddler room because that is not my job description and out of my pay grade! (Which I was very honest and as nice about the situation as possible and communicated to them.) They make you sign a form stating if you do not put in a 2 weeks notice you will get pay reduced for the last pay period. That makes sense! Right? Well I finished my pay period out. Signed for it and everything. Pay period was from 3/10-3/23 . I left and gave notice I wasn't coming back on the 25th. To which the manager and the owner decided to make up the pay period by adding 2 extra days to my paycheck to make it my first and last and told me I will only be receiving minimum wage (for the entire 3 weeks I worked) when I wasn't getting enough pay to begin with for everything they were making me do! They are doing illegal things and make you sign documents that contradict themselves! It's very sketchy and they are doing a lot of illegal acts. If you have any more questions or would like screenshots and proof of this please reach out and I will gladly give them! I only say this because this is Jessica Queen(The hiring Manager/Soon to be Head director) and Bindu Jaganatan (Owner/ Head Director)'s game. This is how they make money. They rip off their workers and call them "bodies" (check camera and audio she says it in the front office) to fill in where they need help and then push them to quit and cut their pay in half. It's disgusting and pathetic. Your employees and these children deserve so much better. I care about these kids, and I care about any future employees. Trust me when I say there is way better options and you will be better off never stepping foot in this facility. I wish I never did! Stay safe. Jessica and Bindu.. Please do better. This event was a ton of fun and we got to also meet some of our competitors as well. Southeastern Oklahoma State University has a great safety program for college students looking to get into safety as a career.

So first things first?…read more What exactly is The UNT New College at Frisco? Think of it as a school where all the big businesses in the area got together, told UNT what kind of things they'd love to see in graduating college kids, and then UNT made programs tailoring to that. Bam. You've got the Frisco campus. No, it's not just a business school, although a heavy focus of the curriculum is put on accounting, finance, things like writing press releases, fund raising, public relations, etc. All sorts of things are taught there that corporations have a huge desire to see more focus on. Another key thing about the Frisco location is that it is predominantly all night classes, so it's tailor made for those already in the work force, maybe those wanting to get a different degree or even further an existing degree. You can still come here and do some basics (I took chemistry and a psychology course here) but they are typically afternoon to evening courses. Lots of the commuter students at the main Denton campus like the Frisco campus because parking is free and PARKING IS FREE. Yeah. It's worth putting twice. Plus they are super freaking friendly here. They always great you with a smile when you walk in, they give you free swag all over the place and I swear...It's like they remember you paid them to go there or something. Amazing. They cater food in all the time for all students and you can rent a laptop, use a printer, get scantrons, all free. Instructors are fantastic. I hope they offer more daytime options for core classes. It's a great facility.

As a parent, I would NOT recommend East Texas A&M…read more Freshmen are essentially forced to live in the dorms, and the environment my child experienced there was extremely concerning. We received multiple official safety alerts from the university, including an armed robbery in a dorm, a terroristic threat with an arrest in a residence hall, a stalking incident that led to a police pursuit, and a hazing investigation. Imagine knowing your child is required to live in that environment. My child described it as feeling like they were living in a prison, constantly on edge instead of feeling safe. No parent should have to worry like that. To make it worse, we paid around $22,000 for just two semesters, and it absolutely did not feel worth it. I am honestly just grateful this experience is almost over. If you are a parent, please do your research and think very carefully before sending your child here. I would not make the same decision again.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this school…read more I completed a course where the professor failed to grade exams in a timely manner, often taking 2-3 weeks to return grades. As a result, I was not given a fair opportunity to address issues with my performance or retake an exam before the course concluded. What is most concerning is that I have written communication from the department head, Tina Lancaster, acknowledging that this professor no longer works at the school and that similar issues affected other students. Despite recognizing the situation and apologizing, I was told there was nothing the school could do and that I would simply have to accept a failing grade. Students deserve timely grading, accountability, and a fair academic process. It is frustrating to be penalized for circumstances that were acknowledged by the institution itself. I hope the school reviews its policies and provides better protections for students in similar situations moving forward.
