Dr Elton Hurst has been my Psychiatrist for about 15 years. I had a TelaMed appointment last week. I signed on to the Doxime site as always. I waited until 30 minutes after my scheduled appt time. Dr Hurst Never missed an appointment and was never late. I called the Trussville office to see if I could find out what was wrong. They vaguely told me that Dr Hurst didn't work there any longer. Of course they won't tell me why. However, I did ask if he was sick. The receptionist said "Yes I think that's it, he is sick". I'm not stupid I knew she wasn't being honest. I would rather her have been honest by saying she could not share that info with me. NEway, she said I would have to change Drs. I do know any of the other Drs there. The receptionist scheduled me an appointment with Dr Simon McClure for early next month. I decided to read some reviews! O My, I'm really anxious about having to change Drs. The last time I had to change Drs it was awful. He made sure I knew he graduated from Harvard and changed All my medications. I became suicidal. That Dr almost killed me. I had my previous Drs phone number, she had moved to Florida. I called her and told her what happened. She called me bay with an appointment with Dr Hurst. He has been the most Awesome Psychiatrist I have ever seen. So now I'm faced with changing Drs once again. After reading these reviews I'm terrified. I don't respond well with egotistical ppl. If I am disrespected I won't keep that Dr. I have a history of spousal verbal and emotional abuse and I don't tolerate that type of treatment anymore. So yes I am concerned about seeing Dr Simon McClure. This place needs to be shut down! These doctors have ruined so many people's lives! I wish we all could get together and file a lawsuit against this crap hole! People depended on these doctors for help and all you have done is ruin our lives! You don't treat people this way that is already going thru depression! I have asked myself everyday why did I ever go there?? I wish someone had cared enough to tell me not too! I can't even get my medical records from these clowns! Negative stars. Consistent with the other reviews, the office staff at this provider is incredibly rude and they speak to patients like they are stupid. I have been going to this office for a long time.. only because I love the nurse practitioner. If I have to make an appointment or change anything, I do it at my appointment or with my NP. Otherwise, it is a disaster and I will not be helped. The staff has accused me of being a no show when I was notified that my appt would be a telemed appointment and then I was never contacted at appointment time. I was told I got the link and didn't open it which was not true. The staff has said they called me to notify me that scripts were ready but I have no call on my call log that day. It is truly stressful to use any of these locations. It is hard to change once you start so don't start care with this group. read more

This facility is a joke. If you care about your mental health at all do NOT go here. Misty Ary should be stripped of her license and put in jail. If I could give negative stars I would. I was the ride home for a friend who had a consult with this sorry excuse of a medical practitioner and my friend was in and out in less than 8 minutes. No screening was provided. No treatment options were provided. She was utterly useless after my friend has been struggling to find mental health care in the *great* state of Alabama for years. This place should be closed down for negligence and violation of the physician's oath. The audacity! Misty, you should be ashamed and disgusted by yourself. bham al - never ever go to a grayson & associates office if you value your mental health. they ignore my requests for refills, then, when i make a telehealth appointment they don't call. they are HORRIBLE. they do not CARE about anyone. i've been trying to get my medication since june, nobody calls me back. then, when i make appointments, they don't call and randomly call when they want? they don't care about me and don't respect me or my time. the galleria office is especially bad. seriously, this is the review you need to pay attention to. do not go there ever. read more

It's been over a year and I still haven't received a call or reason why you decided not to treat me anymore. Is that protocol for your office to just stop seeing patients into the middle of a crisis?? I wouldn't call crying being disruptive, I would say that is someone that is hurting and needs help. I called Alabama Physciatry and explained what you did to me. They apologized and told me that they had a ton of your former patients. She told me that they didn't desert their patients like you do Dr Simone McClure. After seeing you for four years did you ever have any problems with me? No you didn't so why would you take the word of a fat fouled mouth receptionist over me?? I was told that you fired her for this very reason. I needed your help and you abandoned me. WHY??? I love my doctors Dr. Haigler and Dr. Callahan. They took care of me for five years now, and my health has never been better. However, my main problem is with the receptionists. I wish I knew the girl's name, but she was so polite that she brightened my day. I only saw her once months ago, but there are two regulars who bring great flaws to the office. The office is noticeably short-staffed, and there are often long lines. There were times when I showed up for my appointment on time only for the receptionist to finally get to me after 15 minutes of waiting. Despite having many patients waiting in line, they move at a snail pace. They showed signs of frustration and impatience when I walked up to set up follow-up appointments or had any questions about my account. The billing office sent an important fax for me to their office that I needed immediately. I drove there from work only to be told that the faxes are being checked electronically by a sole person and that they could not give me an estimate of when my fax would be printed. I left after 20 minutes of waiting. I've been faithful to this office and my doctors for five years now, so I wouldn't dream of leaving. However, they really need to reconsider the people they have greeting patients at the front desk. read more

Just to show how horrible of an experience, I have NEVER left a bad review for any company or person because I know things happen, but my problems with Ms. Pody and staff have been nonstop and consistent with no resolution. I started using Lacey Pody this year because my psychiatrist retired. I had heard horrible things about Grayson and Associates, but I made my appt against my better judgement. I wasted 2-3 months of treatment waiting on phone calls back re: prescriptions. She wrote me one month until my next visit. After that visit, I got no refills and no calls returned. I have left a message on the refill line and "urgent" messages with the receptionist since March....I have received no help at all. I had to have someone else refill my prescriptions. Why did I pay a copay? Why did my insurance pay for nothing? Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! read more

The most unprofessional and unorganized practice I've ever experienced. You do not receive calls back from the office and the Nurse Practitioner I had interaction with was terrible. I had received a bill for a missed visit I had not made. When I went in for my next visit, she got in my face and yelled at me for missing an appointment I didn't even make. The appointment had been made within the office. I sat through my entire appointment upset and crying and she continued to be cold and hateful. I will NOT be back. Don't waste your time. Find a practice who cares about patients. This one does not. read more

I'd like to clear up some obvious confusion in the reviews regarding Grayson and Associates. I have been going here going on 3 years now. I have had nothing but superb interaction with everyone there. Let's start with the receptionist (who people like to bash). She is always extremely professional, kind, and does her job well both when I arrive and when I leave. Second of all, my Nurse Practitioner, Tiffany Waller is absolutely wonderful. She is professional, kind, smart (she knows her stuff!) listens and above all else she sincerely cares about people and their mental health. Thanks to her I am able to come off some serious meds. She works with me regarding my needs. She is proven trustworthy. She goes above and beyond more than any mental health practitioner I've ever been to. Plus she returns calls like a BOSS! If I call she always calls back that day. I've never had a problem with getting a return call or medicine called in. Before you write off Grayson try meeting with Tiffany Waller. I have had nothing but an extremely positive experience. read more

Do not go here! The office staff is extremely rude, and the staff is incompetent. With my therapist I was spoken to in a condescending and belligerent tone even after I worked all my payments out with the business office due to insurance not covering all fees. The med management is even worse, I saw my psych on a Wednesday and should have called in a refill, no refill was called in I called the next day and got "we will get it called in today and someone will call when done" no call nothing verified with pharmacy no call in. Called the office 1 week past the Previous appt and the front desk people were even ruder when I cancelled all appts and stated I would find another, when asked who to contact to lodge a formal complaint I was provided the number for the office manager , I don't expect a call back so off to file a formal complaint against both therapist and Psychiatrist whom are nurse practitioners. Tiffany Waller, Nurse Practitioner I leaving one star because that is the minimum I can do and still post a review. Save your money and your time and go somewhere else. I saw her yesterday and she admitted that she normally treats children. I was given an appointment with her because I asked for the first one available with anyone -- MISTAKE! I am a 61-year-old woman who told her I have anxiety issues and problems sleeping. I asked for Valium because it has worked for me in the past. She lectured me on why any benzodiazepenes would be a bad choice and proceeded to prescribe Buspar saying it isvery safe and she gives it to children. She gave me a paper prescription even though I do not have a car and had to incur additional expense to take it to the pharmacy, stating "we are pretty archaic here." She directed me to take it with food which I did, however I forget to break the 15 mg table in two. I had side effects including heart palpitations, labored breathing, nausea, diarrhea, and my face became flushed. Upon calling and leaving a message with her the next day, she called me back leaving a message instructing me again take it for food, break it in half and stay with the medicine. She also stated she did not feel comfortable changing the prescription over the phone and if I wanted something different I would need to move up my follow up appointment. Clearly, I have no confidence in returning to see anyone who would tell me to keep taking medicine with affected my heart and respiratory system. I will be canceling my follow up appointment and going to see a real psychiatrist. read more

Terrible experience. I scheduled an appointment with a psychologist specializing in sex issues. I showed up early to fill out paper work as was requested of me. Five minutes after my arrival another woman came in with the same appointment time as me for the same psychologist. He was informed and...my interview became hurried and pointless with questions like "Have you ever considered yourself addicted to drugs?" along with other irrelevant questions to pass time. I am absolutely horrified at my experience with Grayson and Associates. I was 10 minutes late for my appointment because the building is unmarked and I couldn't find the office. In addition to being severely depressed for days prior to my appointment, I arrived experiencing a severe anxiety attack and was promptly told that not only could I not see my physician, but that they would not book me another - that I had to call and do it myself. Upon explaining that I felt as though I was in an emergent need to see the physician, I was promptly told that I could not. I proceeded to experience an episode in front of the entire waiting room, and the receptionist rudely told me she "couldn't understand what I was saying," because I was hyperventilating so hard. I was forced to remain in front of other patients and families while I entirely broke down, completely humiliated, and once again I was told I would not be seen by any physician. I have never once ever experienced an office staff whom were so rude and incompetent. I ended up driving myself to the Emergency Department within hours of this incidence. Do not EVER visit this office - they have no desire to aide those whom need them. read more

I reviewed earlier regarding the incompetence of the staff but today's experience beats all. Today is august 11th. I have been trying to get a prescription sent to the pharmacy since August 1st. I called again to find out the status of the refill. After numerous request over the last 2 weeks the call center employee (not a receptionist, you're not allowed to speak to anyone at the actual dr office) told me the prescription had been faxed 6 times within the last 5 hours. I asked why 6 times, would the fax not go through? She said yes, they went through fine, but you left 6 messages. By thr way it wasnt 6 messages today, it was over a period of 2 weeks. I was speechless. This is not a blonde joke. It really happened. I'm leaving 1 star rating because yelp does not offer a zero rating. read more

This place is no more a counseling center than a pile of books is a tree. I was hospitalized for suicidal ideation in November 2014 and I was treated by a psychiatrist here in the hospital named Dr. Callahan. Being the hospital for seven days, she talked to me one a day on three of them for less than twenty minutes. When I was released from the hospital and began seeing her at this office she did absolutely NOTHING to help me. Driving from Montevallo to this place took forty-five minutes and we had to wait for about twenty more minutes. When I finally got in to see her she didn't ask me how I was, how I felt, or anything that gave the impression she cared. The therapy (If you can call it that) lasted fifteen minutes and she wrote in her notes for three of them. All she did was ask about what I'm doing in the future and then she just gave me a prescription for medication. I would be depressed and contemplating suicide before I left the parking lot because I felt so terrible that the help I got from the hospital was doing virtually nothing to help me. This place isn't full of therapists, It's just "drug dealers." Giving this place one star is generous. Do not set foot in any Grayson & Associates office. read more
