I understand it's a fundraiser for…read moreSonoma Farm Trails, but the cost of entry and parking together is extremely steep when food and vendors inside are also pricey. Only Apple Alley had some affordable items. I did really have a good time! There was an area to pet farm animals, a kids play area, see really cool old tractors, great variety of music, and interesting events. I learned a ton! I really liked that they had a variety of fair merch. The heat was not fun but it was fine under the shade. There was a variety of food options which were pricey. I like that there were water stations, and many attempts to be eco friendly (metal utensils, compostable places, etc). It's a cute fun fair, but tickets need to drop to at least $10 for adults, $5 for kids, $7 for seniors and vets. That way people can spend more money inside.

When I mentioned to a friend that I'd recently gone to the Gravenstein Apple Fair (GAF) she asked…read more"what's that?" As I started to explain she cut in, "so it's like a county fair?" I explained that yes, a county fair is the closest equivalent but I live in Marin County and the fair in my county goes on longer and for the price of admission includes rides, fireworks, bands you've heard of, art, and a whole lot of more. So the Apple Fair is similar to a county fair but offers less than many with which I'm familiar. It also sports a hefty $30 per person admission fee: Make it make sense. Full transparency: I had comp tickets for two so I couldn't complain about the price but I also kept imagining how I'd have felt about the experience had I paid full admission fare. There simply isn't enough here to merit that hefty entrance fee. If I'm going to complain about that I should mention that you can lessen the pain in a few ways: * Many shops in town sell advance-purchased tickets at a reduced price ($20 apiece); * Rates are reduced for seniors ($23), veterans, and children; and * Their web site indicates that "deeply discounted" tickets may be available for those on limited incomes. Still. Inside, you'll find livestock, arts and crafts for sale, apples for sale (and also anything you can make with apples), live music, food, beer, wine, cider, apple harvesting equipment, and more. I enjoyed my time here and would happily return but only if I again got my entrance fee comped. I certainly can't expect such a perk and neither can you, thus my 3-star rating for this perfectly pleasant but wildly over-priced fair.

It starts with…read morea parade down Main Street Sebastopol, and every year it feels like the whole town is out to watch it. People start camping out prime parade route spots the day before, and come morning it's a festive vibe from Analy High all the way down to the South end of town. After the parade there's a two day town fair with all the festivities you'd hope for: good fair food (from local food vendors, not the standard junk food at a lot of fairs), local craft vendors, two kids areas - one carnival style, and another with a more arts and crafts vibe, and multiple music stages. I think because Sebastopol has such a lively music scene, the music every year is way better than you'd expect at a small town fair. The same person (local Sebastopol legend "Mr. Music") who books Sebastopol's summer music festival, Peace Town, is the one who organizes the Apple Blossom Festival music. Tickets are cheap, and I'd say the only thing that could be improved is more entrances and/or ticket pre-orders as the line to get in right after the parade can be pretty long! The Apple Blossom Festival is not to be missed for any local, or anyone who wants to visit Sonoma County on what is almost always a magnificent mid-Spring day!

A portion of the proceeds benefits Stewards of the Coast & Redwoods, the non-profit working in tandem with the California State Parks in the Russian River region, and the Bodega Volunteer Fire Department. $20 is a little steep though. We were handed a raffle ticket with no pen or instructions. When we finally got a pen and walked back, we told the raffle box was at the main stage on the far side of the event. We decided to get something to eat since we were waking past the food. Several food tents were sold out of food early! The food was okay and not surprising...over priced. When we got to the main stage, we were told it was too late to put in our raffle. I think it was a bit unorganized but I got over it and did some wine tasting. For starters there is an entrance fee of $15 or more (can't remember as this happened back in April 2022). Why is there an entrance fee?? It's just a bunch of vendors like you would see at a farmer's market. There was music which was nice, but again, why is there an entrance fee? It's not like we're getting a drink with the entrance fee. No, I would not recommend this.

Bins set up for Compost, Landfill and Recycling (although I think most of the compost heap wasn't actually compostable...oh well) The smell of weed, nagchampa and people at every turn. Awesome art, fun vendors, crazy-one-of-a-kind clothing and jewelry. My only complaint is that for a Festival that supposedly boasts loving the environment, being sustainable, and being host to people who are eco-friendly and emotionally evolved - there sure is a lot of trash everywhere. Can't people pick up after themselves if they love the earth so much? There are trash bins everywhere...walk your barefooted self over to one and voila...done and done. This year Lauryn Hill was the driving force for me to come and I have to say...she was late and did her mic-check and volume levels for the first 10 minutes of the show... mmm not impressive. She sang some old school stuff at a very fast pace, probably to get through her set, which as stated before - was late. I was hoping I'd get to hear more from her vocally... you know, like super wailing some of her emotional, righteous sh*t... All in all though - Good Festival. I'd def go again.

The weather is perfect, you're on the river, and on both sides surrounding you are tons (literally) of BBQ to be eaten and kegs of beer to be emptied. There's music, revelry and a lot of satisfied bellies all around you. It's definitely an experience to take in. We had a bit of a logistical hiccup getting in, and unfortunately I wasn't able to try the Mad Scientist BBQ (winner from last year) but there's always next year. And with that being said, I sampled at least 8-10 other very legitimate BBQ teams serving some of the best ribs and chicken I've ever had. If you are fortunate enough to secure a ticket for this event next year I recommend a couple things: -Get a beer lanyard for $5 (they are super helpful) -Come with an empty stomach -Eat first, then drink. The food runs out before the beer. -Bathroom lines can be tough, try to go to the less obvious Porto locations That's it, see you next year Stumptown!

Most of the pieces were also for sale, though nothing I would consider inexpensive. It's art, so you'll have to decide how much you like something and if you want to purchase it. It also seems like non-local artists could display work here if they were a member of the center. Maybe I should look into it! Really nice place to stop for an hour or two. Highly recommend it.
