It is not 9/12/14 I my kitchen is not completed and there are multiple scratches, paint flaws throughout. The owner was given credit card to purchase materials and used it for another job...paid me back only b/c I called him on it. I also paid him $1500 for labor before he ever bought all the materials. He missed deadlines multiple times, mismeasured cabinets/doors, poor paint jobs, chips, scratches and no care for delivery. I hired another person to install the drawers b/c I was out of a kitchen for over 6 weeks and wanted to put my dishes away! My contractor gave me a usable kitchen and I was set to take Custom One to court. The owner and his wife came over to my home and took notes of all the repairs needed and said they would complete the project to my satisfaction during I week when I went on vacation. In all honesty, I believe they only came over b/c they know I could have nailed them for credit card fraud! When I arrived home the kitchen was still not complete and I was given more excuses and the owners pleaded they were the victims. I caught them in lies and they decided to keep the materials that I paid for until the General contractor relieved him of all liability. The GC wrote up an agreement and delivered defective cabinets/doors again...I've been out a workable kitchen now for another 3 weeks. Custom One's workmanship is poor, his communication is lacking at best and he is full of lies and excuses even though he claims his Christianity, and his business practices are unethical. In the middle of my project (unfortunately) I was told another client of Custom One was taking him to court for the same reasons...6 months to install a kitchen and major flaws. They settled. Top Shelf did our roof last August and was easy to work with. They were the only company that was…read morewilling to actually try to work with us to get the roof replaced by insurance where other companies were 50/50 on whether the damage was "enough" to get a claim filed. After coming out and looking at the roof they said for sure it would be a claim and worked to get it pushed through. Day of the job they came out and were very efficient in the work they did, even when they had to get some new plywood to fill in areas on the roof where the previous roofers had not filled the sheathing all the way to the facia boards which created a slight delay but they were still able to get the whole roof done in the course of one day. After they left we found a couple nails here and there (which is to be expected) and thought their clean up was excellent when you think of how many thousands of nails they had to pull from the previous roof they were replacing. Very happy with the work they have done and the extra leg they went working with the insurance side of things to get our nearly 30 year old 3 tab roof replaced with very nice looking upgraded and updated IKO architectural shingles.

Since we bought our house in March, we have dealt with many contractors. Jose & Angela are by far…read morethe most professional and honest among all of them. They took care of a drywall+door installation and a bathroom fan replacement. Among the 4 contractors we contacted for this, they were the only ones showing up in person to provide a quote. The others only asked for pictures and provided quotes based on those. The quote from Jose & Angela was very reasonable. A couple of times, as it is often the case, the project required some extra costs due to the unforseen conditions of the door and the fan we purchased. Jose was very transparent in describing the reasons of the additional costs and updated our contract immediately both times. At each step we knew what we were paying for why. Based on our experience, this is not something to be taken for granted. The final job was absolutely high quality. Moreover, Jose and his team did all they could to minimize the impact of dust etc on the rest of the house. I am very happy we (somewhat randomly, via Angi) got to connect with them. They will certainly be our first choice for any future work on the house that falls within their expertise.
