It's an impressive statue of a fellow diligently crushing some grapes... as it should be. It's on a hill with lovely views (even on a cold rainy winter day). The path to the base of the statue is paved and easy; allowing access to most anyone. Lots of parking. There are a few benches set along the small path where you can sit and take in the view. It takes less than 10 minutes to park and walk the path to admire the bronze art instillation... but, I recommend taking a seat and at least moment more to admire the scene around you.

Crush Hour Located at Vista Point Park, this iconic bronze statue showing a man crushing grapes the old-fashioned way is the largest sculpture cast west of the Mississippi Weighing in at a whopping 6,000 lbs. (3 tons) and measuring 15'-high (not including the 6' base) this Ivica statue can be seen from miles around and welcomes visitors driving in on Hwy 29 to Napa. It's definitely worth a stop to see if you're in the area and a really good free way to kill some time if you're waiting around for lunch reservation, much like we were. :)

Really big statue of a dude crushing some grapes, presumably for wine. Nice views. Grassy area for a picnic. Wheelchair accessible ramp goes all the way up to the statue. Some parking and some garbage cans. No bathroom. I'd give it the 5th star if there was a plaque describing the statue. If there is one there, I couldn't find it. If you choose to give a thumbs-up or not, I hope you found my review helpful!

The Iconic welcome to Napa Valley as you enter from the south. A vineyard worker with both hands on the handle and one foot pushing against the barrel, this is 300% life size, standing 15 feet high excluding the base. The Grape Crusher is the largest sculpture cast west of the Mississippi and was unveiled here in 1988. There is a small parking area and you can see over some of Napa from here. Worth a stop for the Instagram photo for sure. [Review 17555 overall - 351 in California - 1073 of 2022.]

Napa Valley's iconic sculpture We see it every time we pass Highway 29 in Napa... I've been wanting to stop by the Grape Crusher statue for sometime now. Can't really miss it, a giant statue of a vineyard worker wearing a wide-brim hat straining to operate a grape crusher. We took a closer look and stopped by the vista point to check it out. Enter the parking lot in a one-way loop. There is a paved trail that is accessible to the public to see the statue up close... we walked on the grassy area to see the front but it's really best to see it from afar since the statue is a tall 15-feet high (excluding a six-foot base). Underneath the tree are two cement benches where you can sit and relax and enjoy the views. It was nice and peaceful. It overlooks Highway 29 and the Meritage Resort and Spa. It was a little windy today so we didn't stay long. Just a short stop to take some quick photos and check out The Grape Crusher. The statue looks pretty cool from a distance and up close. To visit the statue, drive south on Soscol Ferry Road at the intersection of Highways 12, 29 and 221. Go West on Vista Point Drive, then turn right on Napa Valley Corporate Park Drive. Review #2560

This monument can't be missed, as you can see it right off the highway. The area's clean, the statue's surrounded by grass as well as a few benches for seating with shade underneath a tree, and there's a small parking lot on site. Nice for a quick stop to take in the views and appreciate this tribute to the great workers of Napa Valley wine country.

An impressive statue with great views. It won't take you long to walk up the short path to check it out. If in the area it's definitely worth seeing. Supposedly the largest bronze statue West of the Mississippi.

Who likes statues? I do sometimes. Actually, I've been wanting to stop by the Grape Crusher Statue for awhile now. You can spot it from the Highway 29 when you are driving to or from the Napa Valley region. The 16 ft tall bronze sculpture stands on top of a 10ft tall rock base. Well, I convinced the family that we should take a closer look of the statue. Most of them had no interest, but several followed me for some quick photos. Rest of them stayed at the parking area. The view from the hill where the statue sits is terrific. Nice look of the Napa valley area. There are even a couple of picnic tables to dine at if you want to do that. The statue looks pretty cool from a distance and close up. Apparently it is the largest sculpture cast west of the Mississippi!! I think that is a fun fact!! Anyways, I can now cross another check mark off because I've visited Grape Crusher Statue in Napa!! Time to move on to the next one!

By far, the best place to watch the sunset in Napa. In search of something to do to kill my hangover after my nap, I searched up "best place to watch the sunset in Napa" and found this place on the list. With no time to waste, I packed a leftover burrito purchased back in SF and I took the brief 15 minute drive to get to this statue and the mini-park. Parking is easy to come by and the grassy area is well maintained. I was delighted to find that I wasn't the only one with the idea to catch an epic Napa sunset; there were a few other parties enjoying the evening. Immediately after catching the sunset, I felt refreshed and the hangover was nearly gone! It was a lovely moment.

Review #065 - 2020 I've been meaning to come check out this landmark so I could check it off my Yelp bookmark, but never had the chance to since I am rarely here with anyone who's willing to play tourist with me. Luckily, my niece and nephew, who were both on shelter-in-place from school, were both willing to be my ride along buddies. The fact that they are both very active Instagram users didn't take very much effort to con them into coming along. We showed up at around 12:45 PM on Thursday, March 19th, and there were 3-4 other cars parked in the lot, but we only saw one mom & a kid who were getting ready to leave. We took quite a few photos and left half an hour later. The fact that everyone else was home made it that much nicer since we didn't have to worry about any photo bombers. If you're in the area and need a fun spot to do a quick photoshoot, this is definitely worth a stop. While we were leaving, another car showed up with a few men who were getting ready to get drunk because they had quite a few bottles of alcohol in their hands.

    Pretty view and pretty flowers.

If you want to get away from the tourist scene of Napa, this is a quiet area with a nice view of the hillside. It's a short walk up to the historic Grape Stomping Statue. There are plenty of rose bushes that line the pathway, which makes it that much more beautiful. You'll see different views of the valley and distance hills because the path is on a spiral curve to the statue. There's also benches where you can rest under the trees to take a break or have a nice picnic at. We saw several couples having picnics in scattered areas. It was cute! This is an ideal spot for a sunny day of relaxing and soaking in some rays. The statue is larger than expected, once you reach the top. It's very expressive and definitely captures the history of how the Napa area came to be. There's plenty of parking here because it's not too close to most attractions, restaurants or businesses. This is a great spot to have a romantic stroll, or to have quiet time to think.

One of our favorite stops. Plenty of free open parking. Short walk up to the top. Great open vista views of napa valley, meritage resort and spa!

After we finished eating, I frantically researched (read: checked Yelp) for a winery to visit. Housley seemed to fit the bill--good reviews, dog-friendly (we had her dog with us), and what seemed to be a reasonable tasting price. We get there and we realize it's owned by Tamera Mowry (who is now Mowry-Housley!) There's a picture of her and her husband (a former baseball player) in the window. We're sort-of starstruck. Shortly after, her husband (and the winery's owner) Adam walks up with their daughter and asks us how we're doing. We continue to be starstruck. Service was wonderful. Seating was comfy. The views weren't the best (we were drinking on the sidewalk and there's a parklet too.) The 5 wines for $29 was not bad, but the size of the pours was lacking. The first pour was the smallest and then slowly they seemed to give us more (maybe they heard me!) Honestly, the pricier wines tasted better. I wish our wine tasting could've been free if we bought two bottles or something--I would've done that! Cute merch and store with goodies inside. Bathroom is clean. Would be back!
