My family has been taking our cars to Grant for service for many years now. Grant and his staff are always great about explaining what's going on, from what needs to be done versus what can wait, to never talking down to you. They've looked after four of my family's cars now, and that my mother's 2001 Accord (220,000 km on the odometer) is still in wonderful mechanical shape is a testament to how Grant and his staff have taken care of it (and, I guess, to the nice folks at Honda who designed and built it). The only reason Mom might deal the Accord is that she's finding it harder to get in and out of it - and she wants heated seats. Grant has been wonderful in detailing why some vehicles are better choices than others, including that maintenance is more expensive on some models or that some models have a poorer record than others.
When I was looking for my first car, Grant made a recommendation based on my driving habits and the cars I told him I had test-driven already. I had looked at a Ford Fiesta, but Grant recommended I might be happier with a Focus, due to the amount of driving I was doing at the time. His recommendation was spot-on, including his advice to watch out for the Titanium model, as its 17-inch tires are really expensive to replace, something I learned all too well when I took a chunk out of the sidewall of one of my tires (I didn't get the Titanium, but my car has the same wheel-tire combo). When it came time to invest in winter tires, Grant recommended I get steel rims to go along with them. This wasn't an upsell - in fact, it meant a much less expensive seasonal changeover - but rather something he knew would serve me well, since I could go for smaller rims, and thus smaller, less expensive tires.
Seeing how many cars have a Grant's Auto Care license plate frame around town is a sign of how many people trust their cars to Grant. Honestly, I'm surprised mine is the first Yelp review! For anyone looking for auto service, take your car to Grant's. They'll take care of your car, and make sure you're well taken care of, too. read more
