I already wrote a review about this pool on another platform. I gave them 1 star review stating that it was entirely due to their schedule (1-3 for the general public, LAME) But this time they get 1 star for the poor management of the pool, their inability to satisfy customers needs and offer solutions when a problem arise. Today I got to the pool at 1:15, they open at 1:10, I pay 4.75 and went straight to find a deck chair. None available, not even a single chair, all taken, since this is a pool without any grass to lay on, (plain cement!) I decided to leave, cause being pregnant I have back pain and dont want to lay on a hard surface to make it worse. So I leave and ask to get a refund since I didnt get to enjoy the pool. Answer? Nope. Talk to manager, great, answer? Nope. All with a smile of course, cause that really helps and solves the issue. I wont be coming back. The pool was full with no free spots, cause guess what, all kid's stuff, dozens of backpacks and more crap, were left on the ground by the pool, why bother with lockers, right? And they still let people in, cause money is money. You guys are all a bunch of cheap people. Will be going somewhere else from now on.

I've had swimming lessons sporadically in the past. Maybe I was just a tad bit more ready today?!…read moreNot really, I didn't want to leave the wall & would've been content practicing breathing today for my entire lesson. I was urged off the wall a few times by Coach Chris and the woman over the program (I think) & finally let go. Coach Chris is a great coach! He encouraged me & was very patient as I hesitantly followed his direction. I actually did 2 laps w/ the noodle focusing on kicks and breathing! That's the most progress I've had in a swim class in a 30-minute lesson! I guess I should note, this was a private lesson and previously I've taken group lessons. Either way, I gained the most progress and satisfaction from this one class than I have in the 4 group classes I've taken twice. I can't wait to see my progress at the end of the classes. The showers and changing areas are clean and adequate. Everyone from the front desk staff to the other personnel were friendly.

I can't believe this hasn't been yelped yet (maybe I missed it in my search?)…read more My kids hit the pandemic right at the age where they would have probably started swim lessons, and we didn't end up doing it; so, they were both behind on swimming ability, and my younger one (currently age 7) really didn't like the water at all. After my son had a scary incident in a friend's pool, we were more motivated to get started, and signed up both kids last summer (2022). I didn't know what to expect at all, but we've been really thrilled with the program. We do the classes at North Ormewood Park, which is a private residence who rents their pool out for these (ironically I had been to this pool before when I had rented it on swimply! that was a cool coincidence because it made my younger one a bit less scared to go). This pool is a mile from my house, which is fantastic. I think all the classes are at outdoor pools but I'm not totally sure about this. The regular sessions are two weeks each, M-W, half hour back to back, from beginner and increasing in levels until the latest / most advanced class. The kids practice together, with lots of individualized attention (I think it's a 2:1 instructor ratio) and then get a sticker. They have a groupme for communication and lightning delays. They will try to delay if they can, but can reschedule on Thursday if they have to cancel entirely. If it's raining but not lightning, you WILL swim! I think the M-W 2 week program is really perfect for our family because it's only a 2-week commitment at a time, and the 3-days in a row piece gets the kids to learn faster. My daughter basically went from not being able to tread water to full on swimming in a single 2-week session. But she LOVES being in the water; my son is a bigger challenge because he didn't naturally like the water as much, doesn't like putting his face underwater, etc. But this 2nd year he's made a ton of progress and is self-motivated to practice at the pool outside of lessons. Their website can be a bit overwhelming to follow, but they are so flexible and responsive. The first time I signed up I had no idea what level to put my kids in. I was worried that my son's level of swimming was matched up with an age level starting at like, age 2, which would potentially be embarrassing for him. They gave me a suggestion over email, and then my daughter was a bit more advanced than that so they let her come to the later class instead. Likewise this session, my son signed up for a class that wound up being too advanced for him, and he's getting a ton of individual attention, but they let him try the earlier class and it seems a better fit - he's still on the older end of that class but it doesn't seem at all a problem. And the instructors are so cute with them, and everyone is so pleasant to work with. We'll continue with water wings until our kids are confident swimmers!

This was my first time visiting this YMCA location, and unfortunately my experience was not good…read moredue to the behavior of an older-white, female "fitness coach" named Diane. While in the weight room, she walked over to the area I was working out at. After scanning the free weights, she stared at me and the weights I was using ( I had both the 15 and 20 lbs weights). An angry look overcame her face. I believe she got upset because I was using weights she intended for her client, even though they were not marked, reserved, or set aside off rack for later use . Also, there was another brand of 20lbs dumbbells that were available for immediate use, but I guess she wanted the weights I had. Her body language and facial expressions made me feel uneasy. She then approached me aggressively and accused me of blocking a walkway which I was not. To avoid confrontation, because I know that is what she wanted, I moved anyway. Moments later, she began walking very close to me and giving me mean looks in an intimidating manner, as if trying to provoke a confrontation. At one point, she picked up weighted plates I was actively using and deliberately dropped them out of place onto the floor after I told her I was using them. She smacked her teeth, rolled her eyes, and mumbled something under her breath as she walked away. This felt intentional and threatening. I couldn't believe what was happening because all I was trying to do was work out and mind my own business. I do not understand why this woman of golden age was acting this way towards me unprovoked, and then it hit me: this is the result of working out while black! As a patron, I should feel safe and respected in a shared fitness space. Instead, I felt targeted and intimidated. Based on the interaction, I couldn't help but feel that racism, bias, entitlement, and favoritism toward her Caucasian client played a huge role in how I was treated. The YMCA promotes itself as an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone. This behavior was the opposite of that, and it needs to be addressed so no other member has a similar experience. If an employee cannot treat all patrons with respect, they should not be working in a community-centered space like this. Shame on you Diane for your unprofessionalism and disgusting behavior towards me today. It's sad that people like you still exist in 2026. I pray the most high cleanse your wicked heart and remove all evil, hatred, and racism you possess inside of your decaying soul in this present time. I hope you never get another opportunity to mistreat another person the way you mistreated me today. You went out of your way to intimidate to make me feel unwanted and unwelcome, but I refuse to allow such a miserable person as yourself bring me down. You're nothing but an old racist boomer-bully and I pity you. SHAME-ON-YOU DIANE! SHAME-ON-YOU!
