When you have a wood fence in CT you're bound to have to repair it nearly annually, due to rotting posts, rotting panels, etc. I've been hiring the same fence company for installations and repairs as needed but this year I wanted to upgrade to vinyl. The previous fence company I'd been using just flat out didn't reply to my request for a quote. Their loss, big time. Several years ago I did get a vinyl fence quote from that company and it was considerably more than what I paid Hartford Fence to do, in 2025. Also the more expensive quote was for a white vinyl fence, which I do not like. So, that left me to reach out for other estimates and Hartford Fence came flying in with a swift estimate, excellent color options and once we made our decision and put down a deposit, they installed the thing within 9 days. Justin stated that he had been searching for a chainsaw rental at Home Depot and hasn't had any luck. After this, we decided to call Home Depot and check for ourselves and found out that they had about 7 20" chainsaws available for rent immediately. Confused by this, we reached out to him and let him know that Home Depot had plenty to rent. Justin's response to this was "I need a 30" chainsaw not a 20" and I found one to rent tomorrow in West Hartford". After doing our own research, we didn't seem to find any 30" chainsaws so we decided to call tool rental places around the West Hartford area. Not a single place even had 30" chainsaws to rent and told us that no even sells those let alone rents them out. Now let me preface by saying that this tree we were asking him to remove does not require a massive chainsaw and could easily have been done with a standard 20". Again we questioned Justin on this as we now have given him $200 and had a feeling he was never going to return to do the job as promised Justin never did return and after reporting to police we discovered that he has an arrest record and is currently being sued by another party for taking $1000 from them and never starting a job that he promised he'd do This guy is grade A top choice scumbag and the only thing I would recommend is staying far away from him

Instead of putting the fence on her property line, it was placed a little further back, so that all that is left on our side. They cut down the big ones but left the stumps dirt level or a little above. Other plants, weeds, rocks limbs and rubbish on our side. That should be all on her side that is her mess not ours. Since it is her property I cannot do anything to it. Before the fence was up and if they could pull out the posts of the wood and chain link fence they could have fully removed the hole plant and not leave us with the stumps on our side. Please rectify this situation.
