It's as gorgeous in person as I had hoped and I can easily see myself going on rainy afternoons to browse, read, or work...they have WIFI and allow people to bring in food. And, of course, I'll continue to partake in the zoom lectures until live music and readings can resume. The most magical part? Listening to the sounds of the city waft in through the open windows, like the bell from the trolley, and imagining what it was like to live in Cincinnati when the Mercacntile Library got its start. Also, fun fact: The library has a 10,000 year lease and they pay $1 a year for the space thanks to Alfonso Taft, President W.H. Taft's father.

I've patronized a lot of libraries and this one is pretty phenomenal. When I jokingly told one of…read morethe librarians recently that they pretty much have everything but a coffee bar, he deadpanned they're building one in the new addition. And he was serious! Every book I've wanted to see, they've had. They have a great periodicals section with pretty much every magazine that matters and the New York Times and Wall Street Journal in addition to the local and state newspapers. You can check out electronic books, digital music and even -- I kid you not -- a freaking fishing pole if you'd like to do a little angling at Scott County Park or on North Elkhorn Creek. This place even provides free notary service. It wouldn't surprise me if they'd even wash your car for you if you ask nicely. All in all, one of the best libraries I've visited and a great community asset for Kentucky's ninth-largest city.

Clearly this old lady has no clue as to her role as a Notary. Went to a local Attorney's office and they notarized it without any problems. Clearly the librarian was attempting to practice law without a license. The lady needs to be investigated as she is giving legal advice on international documents and has not a clue what she's talking about.

With stained glass windows, monthly Art Work displays, conference rooms for discussions and presentations... this is truly an amazing Community Center. The upstairs is a space dedicated entirely to the children of our Community with kids activities, Study Rooms, and assistance for children and families in need. It seems like a truly Safe Space for any child who needs it. The main library itself has an expansive collection of Books, Books on CD, Music Cds, and DVDs. And the library is linked in to an online collection of lending libraries that allow you to borrow digital books, audio-books, movies, and music to stream, all for free, with your Library Card! We visit weekly and even when the place is busy, I find it a haven of peaceful solitude. A space I truly find comfort in! And bonus... clean bathrooms! They also do a lot of presentations that are free to the community, and while I've been interested in a number of them, I've not made it out to attend one yet. But, I'm excited by the possibilities!
