I have two good things to say about Granite Prestige: a) their installers are very good; and b) Ron, the sales manager, knows his business and means well.
That said, consider the following: a) we initially got a quote from them that was lower by about $3,000 (for quartzite countertops and backsplash) than 2 other quotes. When I looked into it, I was shown a plan for how 2 slabs would be cut up that would make all the pieces fit. So I thought they were just cleverer than the two other firms who were going to use 3 slabs. It turned out - I found this out much later, after the countertops were installed - that they miscalculated. We really did need a 3rd slab. Luckily, it was possible to find one from the same lot of 50 - the very last one; b) Jose Fabre, the production manager, does not like to thin quartzite. It takes too long. And he refused to thin it all the way to 3/4 inch as originally agreed. (It is true that quartzite is harder than granite. Some companies refuse to thin it.) Our job was put at the back of the priority list so the first attempt to install the backsplash occurred more than 3 months after the countertops were installed. We were strung along for months waiting for this to be done; c) I wrote "the first attempt" - because when the installers arrived, one of the backsplash pieces incorrectly had a hole for a double outlet cut, so we had to get our contractor to come back and move the one outlet before that piece could be installed; another piece was not cut properly and needed further trimming before it could fit; and a third piece, for our bay window, was cut too big; d) the company does a very poor job of communicating with its customers. Ron does not control Jose's work and cannot speak for Jose's plans, and Jose returns calls when he finds the time. At one point I felt I had no choice except to drive to their shop to find out what was happening, because Ron was on vacation and not answering his emails, and Jose was too busy to return my repeated calls, even after 3 days. In the end, the installers were able to come back, 4 months less 4 days after the countertops were installed, and the installation is very good. That's why I gave the company 2 stars instead of 1. I am sure all these negative experiences will fade into the background over time, the installation looks very good, but as of this writing (November 2025), Granite Prestige is not a company I would recommend. read more
