I would not recommend using Otwell Flooring for a walk-in shower installation…read more We moved into our home the first week of October 2025, and within days the shower began leaking onto the bathroom floor, causing damage to our baseboards and trim. The issue stemmed from improper installation -- the tile was installed flush to the concrete instead of extending over it and underneath the glass door, which is necessary to properly seal the shower. I reported the issue on October 12, 2025. It took until February 23, 2026 -- over four months -- to get any response and have someone come attempt a repair. That attempt failed. I followed up again on March 4, and it wasn't until April 6 that he came out personally with the installer. At that visit, he acknowledged the original installation was done incorrectly and explained that the tile should have been installed over the concrete and under the glass door from the start. The fix required removing the glass door, correcting the tile, and then reinstalling the door. Here's where the responsibility issue comes in: the glass door was originally installed based on his faulty tile work. When the tile was finally corrected months later, it changed the opening -- which meant the existing glass door no longer fit. Now a new door is required at a cost of $700. While he may argue that he honored his warranty by sending someone out twice, that misses the point. The original mistake was his installation, and the sequence of events he directed led directly to the glass no longer fitting. Despite that, he has refused to cover the cost of replacing the door. Between the improper installation, water damage, months of delays, failed repair attempts, and refusal to take full responsibility for the outcome, this has been an extremely frustrating and costly experience. I would strongly recommend choosing another contractor for this type of work.
