The only thing I would change would be 2 things: I would plant some bug repellent plants out by the waterfall and I would cut down the trees by the pews instead of building around them...made it a little hard to see the bride and groom but not impossible. I would give this place 2 thumbs up and highly recommend using this venue to anyone looking for a gorgeous spot to tie the knot! The venue is absolutely beautiful and they have 3 different locations on the property to have the wedding and another for the reception. We picked out the location where my daughter had her heart set on and as the day approached, the weather was not looking good at all. The day of the wedding, it showed strong thunderstorms to begin about the time guests were set to arrive, so they had set everything up for the back up rain plan, which was still beautiful. About an hour before guests were to arrive, the radar was showing the rain would move just around where we were for the time of the ceremony. Knowing how much my daughter loved the original space, the owners Shelley and Shawn, got straight to work and moved everything to the space she had her heart set on. They went above and beyond throughout the entire process to help in any possible way you could imagine. Everyone had a wonderful time and couldn't stop gushing about how beautiful everything was! The venue is amazing and working with Shelley and Shawn made it that much more amazing! I can't say enough great things about the venue or Shelley and Shawn and will never be able to convey my appreciation for everything they did for us! I'm in the Navy Reserves and was gone during the majority of the planning phase of our engagement and didn't have much input on the venue. I had never heard of Drewia Hill but on the first visit, I was hooked. The owner Kris met with us and we hit it off immediately. It helps that her husband is in the same business that I'm in so we had some common interests and knew some of the same people. Kris is also a huge patriot and lover of America and with me being in the Navy it gave us even more in common. The Barn is beautiful and is set on several acres of land. There is plenty of room to have the ceremony inside if the weather turns bad but there is also a lovely area outside to have the ceremony and the barn makes for a beautiful reception area. Kris also did the catering for our wedding and the food was wonderful and reasonably priced. While the venue is beautiful, no amount of beauty can take the place of the great customer service we received. Kris became a friend and wasn't just the owner of a place we rented. She took control on our wedding day and allowed us to relax and enjoy our day. If you are looking for a beautiful wedding venue with an owner you can deal with who will take charge, look no further than the Barn at Drewia Hill. (Although the exit gate from the property was on a sensor that was a little finicky but worked). - Bathrooms were nice and had plenty of towels. - Beds were comfy and clean, would recommend bringing your own pillow if you dislike firm ones. - Washer & Dryer on property. - Lots of kitchen supplies (Foil, Plastic Wrap, Utensils & Plates/Bowls, spices, etc.) - Walmart & Gas within 30ish minutes of driving. - Go visit Falls Creek Falls & Rock Island for some awesome views. Cons: - Could use more lighting on the back deck for grilling, and a light on the side of the house for the fire pit. - Possibly some ghosts strolling through the neighborhood? We could distinguish acorns falling off and hitting things, but we did hear some random footsteps inside and outside of the house during the night time. After double checking the house, no other people or animals were within.
