What a great spot! The food was delish, and the service was even better. Our waiter, Mark, was super friendly and explained the specials so well. Made us feel like regulars! Can't wait to come back again. read more

Those of you who know me, know that I love trying little out of the way, hidden hole in the wall type of places. On our way home from SPI, we knew we were running out of small towns before a stretch that would have us chewing our arms off from hunger. After a quick look at my Yelp app I found this place. Easy access on/off the freeway. The place was semi packed & you could tell Grandma is a fan of the Cowboys because the place was a shrine to the Dallas Cowboys. Friendly staff (I think the whole family works there) & we were given menus. H was a bit upset he missed breakfast & when our drinks were brought to the table, she gave H a breakfast menu & said the cook was agreeable to fixing him something for breakfast. I ordered the Grandma's Special: fajita taco, cheese enchiladas, rice, beans & avocado. H had the chorizo eggs, scrambled w rice & beans. Once served, we dug in & it was delicious! The enchiladas were so freakin' good & the fajita meat was surprisingly good for a hole in the wall place. The flour tortillas were fresh & the portions hearty. Their salsa had a bite to it & was flavorful. The beans! Some of the best I've tried. Overall, this is a must visit place if you are ever in Raymondville, TX. read more

This place doesn't look like much from the outside but as soon as you walk in you are greeted by some of the nicest people I have ever met during my travels. They offer breakfast until 11. I walked in at 11:02 They were nice enough to accommodate me and make me breakfast. I had the chilaqiles which were delicious. Coffee was nice and hot and the price was very good. The waitress was super attentive and made some great suggestions. I would recommend this place for anyone who is driving by the area. read more

Absolutely loved this place. The service was top notch and everything we ate was delicious. They gave us a small soup which was very tasty and chips and salsa while we waited for our food. The salsa was very good and spicy, not watered down like many chain restaurants give, the soup was also very good. We ordered the Mexican tacos and they were great. Even the charro beans that came with the tacos were excellent! Have not had Mexican food this good in a long time. Nothing to complain about. Great food, great value and great service! read more

Stopped here during a road trip. We made two orders, waited about 40 minutes, only one order came out, with one utensil. We had to ask for another fork several times. We finished the one meal, and the other meal was still not out. I went to pay for the one meal that we ate and they charged me for extras that were supposed to come with the other order, the other order never came out. The soup bowl was dirty The tortilla was burned and tasted bitter. Extremely disappointed, if you are on a road trip looking for a quick delicious meal, this is NOT the place to go. read more

Yum yum read more

Oh my gosh! The breakfast was great and the people delightful! So glad we stopped! Grandma has it going on!

Had a hot delicious machacado plate here this morning! Was a bit caught off-guard when the waitress said they don't take credit cards-? Thankfully I had cash. Food was excellent and plenty of it, clean place, quick service. read more

Labor Day weekend trip to Port Mansfield to meet up with family. Stayed in Raymondville, TX. We are from Houston, TX. Best Mexican food I've had in awhile. Thier homemade salsa was excellent. Spicey, but the kind you can't stop eating. It's not often we visit the Valley. I would recommend this place even when just passing through Raymondville. read more

Good place little hidden gem that's about the last stop before heading north on the highway. They have good friendly service. A nice appetizer of soup and chips with salsa. Standard Texmex fare the burger was tasty and the botana sure fills you up. The flour tortillas were huge. Although I'm withholding a star due to one of the plates being a bit dirty. Also the servers could have been prompter. It shows that it is a family owned restaurant since the floor shows wear and tear. On a more positive note that seasoned look makes it feel like your actual grandmas cocina that you're eating at. read more

I used to go to Grandma's Kitchen semi-frequently - it was our go-to spot in the city. But now - I'm never sure what their hours are. I understand that the virus has thrown everything in a blender - but I went there 3 times at a normal business hour. Twice it was closed, and once it was open, but only for a funeral group. I HAVE seen it open, just not sure when. The food is typically good, and the staff friendly read more

We came here after reading the reviews. Lunch was pretty good. We've eaten in tons and tons of Mexican food restaurants, and this was quite good. The restaurant was pretty full, and people kept coming in. We did get a table, though, and we were seated right away. It looked clean and homey, with lots of Dallas cowboy memorabilia everywhere. Most Of the guests seemed local , as everyone knew everybody. The chips were homemade, but they were not hot. This also was also homemade and it did have a little kick to it. My husband ordered the beef fajitas, and he said they were pretty tasty. They were not served on the standard iron skillet, but still grilled. I ordered the guacamole, and it was really good. They serve it with mashed avocados on the plate, with chopped onions in one pile and chopped jalapeños in another. I mixed them together and added my own salt Overall, pretty good. I would be there again. read more

Easy to get to from highway. Looked pretty quiet when we walked in except for some locals. The decor screams Cowboys Fans. Two of us shared deluxe nachos and it was plenty for both of is. Chips were thick and crispy. Strawberry lemonade was large and sooo good. 4 stars due to restroom being mhh. Which is better than ewwhh. Waitress was kind and polite. Her "little helper" was fantastic at giving straws and collecting menus. A real ma and pa place. read more

This place may not look like much when you drive up to it but it's one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants that you are going to find in these parts. My boyfriend and I had the tripa which you should get extra crispy and take tacos mexicanos. I recommend both dishes. The beans are awesome and the rice has that homemade Mexican flavor made with love. They even bring you soup as a starter... kind of like alphabet soup. Very good and really impressive read more

Doesn't look like much when you drive by but we had a big family dying for some food. We thought a nice meal from a small business would be nice. We get greeted and everything going well, but once we ordered we sat there for roughly 30 minutes for food, which I find crazy, it should only take about 20 minutes. Food was mediocre and definitely not worth the wait, eggs were dry, and beans had no flavor. Coming to pay, for roughly about 19-23 people, everyone got a 8$ plate and a water, then charging 2.99 for a cup full of ice and barely any water and from the faucet . And the waitress didn't bother to tell us either and just said well take it into consideration next time. I'm like bruhhhhhhhh, I'm not broke but I still that's kinda outrageous :/ read more

We came here for breakfast and it was pretty good! The coffee was awesome! I especially liked that they gave me milk with my coffee instead of creamer. I had the Grandma's breakfast and my coworker had the chorizo and egg breakfast and they were both really good. Both the corn and flour tortillas were awesome! Flour tortillas were huge! They served a small cup of oatmeal while we waited for breakfast, which is a nice addition to the breakfast. The refried beans could use some improvement, so that's what keeps me from giving it 5 stars, but other than that I would definitely eat here again. The server was very nice and attentive. I didn't get the pleasure of meeting Grandma, but I'm sure she is awesome! read more
