Been a tenant at Ridgefield for the past 27, YES 27 years! Was on the upper floor and had to move…read moredownstairs due to a bad back. Luckily an apartment became available last month. Both Russell and Taylor were extremely accommodating in making it easy to move. Over the years I've found that if there were any maintenance issues, they were taken care of in a timely and professional manner. Both the maintenance and ground crew are world-class. P.S. I'm not from Elizabeth, NJ.

The wood floors are nice. The Leasing Coordinator, Gail, is friendly, pleasant to do business with, and has helped us on several occasions when we needed to discuss leasing options. The grounds and buildings are well-kept and improvements are made continuously. For instance, they just added a free workout room with nice equipment. Snow removal is prompt. When we have required repairs to appliances or plumbing, the Super was always cooperative, timely, and helpful. There is also a pool in the complex but we haven't used it. The lease allows cats but not dogs, which may be the reason we eventually choose another place to live. We are currently on a lease extension for 6 months, which adds to the cost of our monthly payment but gives us the option to move out with 60-days-notice. I have heard that the rent is lower in other complexes, but I can't complain about the value.

I called the office and not going to fix the problem. So when I move out someday it will get fixed. Doesn't that seem ridiculous. I am paying the rent now and cannot get this fixed but when a new tenant comes in it will probably be fixed. That tells you how they care about the current tenants. It is like tough luck deal with it.

Was told I could go month to month but my rent would raise 20% bringing a basic 1 bedroom apartment to nearly $2,450 a month. I wouldn't mind paying this much if the complex offered amenities such as a gym and swimming pool, but they only have a basketball court with 1 hoop broken and out of service. The grounds were well kept for the most part, snow removal was very impressive as they were working all night removing snow. The manager was very friendly and helpful the entire time I lived here which was a nice change of pace from past apartment management at other complexes. The apartment included internet and basic cable, each unit had washer and dryer with dishwasher. WARNING: Very hard water, will ruin your dishes and build up in washing machines and dishwashers. They also have a few violations on their well water, so we just got the 5 gallon jugs delivered each week. Upstairs neighbors were extremely loud and didn't help talking to them either. They would complain I was playing music every weekend around 10 am which was past the noise regulation, then turn around and have parties till 2 am and their dog barking all through the night and morning. Don't bother using heat or air conditioning because central Hudson will charge extremely high prices at this complex, I mean I used my heat 3 times in 1 winter month and was charged $600 for it, most of the charge being "delivery" which was a scam in itself, we just ran space heaters sparingly. Central Hudson won't let you read your own meter here. Speed limit in the complex is 10MPH but people drive 40mph which is completely ridiculous especially since there are children and dogs walking everywhere, and if you ask them to slow down they'll flip you off and slam the door in your face. The complex needs time install multiple speed bumps to reduce this. People aren't nice here at all, definitely not a place for neighborly people. Overall I would say this was a decent place to live, but for the price you can find MUCH better complexes that actually offer amenities.
