Room of day 2 bed made. Or not made.
    Mackenzie K.

This hotel has been a staple in Minot for over 35 years. It is the biggest in Minot, and has a fun pool and atmosphere on the weekends. But...there are a few issues during our stay. We came in town for a funeral. My in-laws were also staying in the hotel with us in separate rooms. The first night our tub was leaking water to the basement and the staff came and asked us to stuff using the tub. We found hairs in the sink when started to unpack. My in laws fridge didn't work, it didn't get fixed until the last day we were there. The next day, my kids locked themselves out of the room on accident and happen to push on the door and the door opened. Our room didn't lock fully. We had the maid service come when we left and came back to the beds made like a two year old makes a bed. The last day, my son was in the hot tub and some guy that worked there asked him to get out of the hot tub. He told me there was too much chlorine in there, and he threw in a thing of chemical pellets. Later that night my daughter and her cousins were swimming in the pool, when they got out about an hour and half after they were covered in red welts. They went and rinsed off and were in so much pain. I went and asked the front desk if anyone has complained about chlorine burn, but no one did. There were about 7 kids in our party that got chlorine burn. The reason I am putting 2 stars is because they responded to my concerns and helped adjust the rate of my room and my families room charges for our stay. I think with all of the big oil, I wish someone would come in a renovate the hotel. It needs a pretty big hefty update. It's such a fun location and atmosphere. It would be sad to lose it. It just needs a lot of work.

    Soft or firm pillows provided.

Rooms worn out. Check In experience was horrible.... No one explained how to get to my room. The hotel is in dire need of a renovation.

Rooms were clean. Food was great! Friendly staff. I've worked at hotels before, so I know hardworking folks when I see them. 5 stars Grand.

They are made of memory foam, which a lot of people like, except this particular foam was rather firm - on par with another reviewer.

I stayed at this location for two months total. So I know the ins and outs very well…read more I would not stay here another day, having experienced and knowing what I know about this hotel now. The only thing that kept me at this location for so long despite its low quality, was the suite type rooms that it offers. The space is very ample for one or two people. Almost like a personal apartment room. Reasons why I would never stay here again: The hotel is very old, over 12 years at the time of this writing so I was told. The walls and flooring are very thin and cheaply made. A door slam clear down the end of the hall will not only be heard in your bedroom at night, but also felt. Your bed and room will shake. Running or feet moving on the floors above you can be heard in your room. Young, bitchy front desk workers purposely slam housekeeping doors at night to wake guests up. Housekeepers will do the same in the mornings and afternoons. So depending upon your normal sleep schedule, be aware. These door slams will shake and rock your entire room. Bed and all. The evening night reception food and drink options are very cheap and low quality. The Staybridge in Bismarck is of higher quality. Not sure what happened with the one in Minot? The drink lady at the evening reception is not happy with life and is not very kind. It is an inconvenience to her when you need a drink or a refill. At the Bismarck location, there is no drink lady! You just grab your own drink from the keg. Or your own glass of wine. Evening beer drinkers only have two options the whole time, Coors Light or Steiner Bock. Bismarck location actually offered two local options which was nice. There are 4 white wine options each night. Zero red wine options. Why? Because guests like red wine, and this is a nuisance to the drink witch. Breakfast here is horrible. Holiday Inn has better breakfast. Young, bitchy front desk workers are lazy, and helping you with anything is no major concern for them. At night, many can be found sleeping at the front desk. Sheets are dirty. Please see attached photos. Spend your money and stay elsewhere. You will have a more peaceful sleep, also better experience all around.

Reasonably priced option in MOT where there aren't that many options. Optimal location for business…read moreand leisure activities. Attractively priced. Great staff and decent complimentary breakfast and manager's evening reception F&B. However, no daily housekeeping and poor maintenance/response to service requests. Notified front desk 3 times of low water pressure, lack of hot water and broken shampoo/soap dispenser. No action taken. Also not a fan of housekeeping every 7 days. Overall, prefer Hampton Inn and Suites on Broadway, near the airport or Hyatt House as these offer more elevated stay experience.

Even the grounds keepers say hello as well as the housekeeping crews in the hallways. The breakfast are all the same for the most part between locations, which does get kinda boring if you travel a lot like I do. Speaking of breakfast, this location here in Minot, (that's Min- NO) for you non locals, is exactly the same as you get at any Holiday Inn Express location. You get included with you stay, a full hot breakfast buffet, including scrambled eggs, omelets, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, bacon or sausage links or turkey sausage patties. For the healthy types, they offer, yogurt, fresh fruit and cereal along with milk and several juice choices. Don't miss the tasty soft hot cinnamon rolls! I never choose to travel to Minot, but I'm here for work as are many of the other guests here. If you like the cold, this is you kinda place. At least the rooms were all nice and warm. The hot water was endless and the WiFi worked fine, good enough to stream Netflix on the laptop hooked to the flat screen TV! The room was clean, no weird creepy crawly things running amok, or stray hair not my color in the bathroom. All in all, this is a fine place to stay.

The front room was clean and receptionist energetic and polite. My room was on the top floor. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The walls are very thin and I could hear he conversation next door. The windows allow all the outside sounds to come in and there's a lot of traffic on the road by the hotel. I was hoping the ac had a constant fan function but it didn't. The breakfast in the am wasn't very good. There was premade eggs and sausage patties. They had a waffle maker as well. There was some toast and bagels but the IHG breakfast options are not great. Overall the room was ok.
