Now that the weather has turned lovely, Granary Square is one of my favorite places to be in my neighborhood. I am a bit biased, as it is somewhat impossible to avoid on my walk home from the tube, but it's a pleasure to have a lovely spot to sit down and take in some sun (or even get my feet wet, walking in the fountain).
With so much construction happening in King's Cross, Granary Square is a sort of shelter in the middle of the chaos. It is the site of several popular dining locations, as well as University of the Arts, London. I've never been to any of the restaurants, but I am a big fan of making a picnic lunch (or checking out Kerb food market, right up the road) and heading to Granary Square to enjoy the ample tables and chairs and check out the waterworks.
Also, there's a coffee truck there that I sometimes take advantage of while reading at one of the tables.
I am constantly amused by the way this area has turned into a children's water park in the hot weather, but I think it's wonderful to see so much life in the neighborhood!
For me, Granary Square is an undiscovered jewel of King's Cross.
Come check it out. :) read more
