The attention to detail is evident from the moment we entered the grounds of this amazing hotel. A Unesco site from the 17 th century, Son Net allows one to experience living in another century with all the comforts available today.
The staff greeted us with smilies and a warm welcome. We were given a private tour of the gardens, pool, gym, dining areas and told of all the amenities Son Net has to offer. Afterwards we were escorted to an outdoor table surrounded by a lush garden with views extending to the hills, while served a welcome glass of cava and olives.
The hotel is like an inviting castle with huge arched ceilings, natural stone floors, area rugs, large pulled back curtains, amazing art work everywhere, wooden or iron framed windows overlooking the interior patio and manicured gardens.
It has tastefully upholstered, comfortable chairs and couches, long hallways with natural light and open areas to read and relax. The atmosphere is very unique and magical.
The gourmet food is delicious utilizing fresh ingredients with many Mallorca traditions in mind. From starters to dessert, the presentation is artistic while everything is mouthwatering and memorable. The selection of wines are also impressive and the attentive servers make wonderful suggestions if you want them. The breakfast setting is absolutely beautiful (inside or al fresco) to enjoy the fresh fruit, breads, local honeys, cheeses, meats and so much more.
Our room had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and the proof was it was the first time I slept through the night(s) in years. The junior suite has a large bedroom with plenty of seating areas and a view to a courtyard. Its adjoining room is filled with natural light because of the wooden framed sliding glass doors. We loved sitting on its plush sofas and chairs which have views of a beautiful treehouse, the garden, mountains and valley.
The pool has wonderfully cushioned lounge chairs where one can choose a cabana with easy entry to the large, serene pool. There is also a lower area with a jacuzzi. It is a lot of fun to explore and find hidden gems at Son Net. The clean air, the sound of birds chirping, butterflies and the occasional peregrine falcon flying over the valley, make the pool a fantastic place to relax. There is a bar near a 550 year old Cyprus tree and food can be served to you at the pool or at the restaurants above or below. At noon, the full time pool attendant, surprised us with complimentary chilled, fresh squeezed orange juice in champagne flutes. The attention to detail is more than evident everywhere one is at Son Net. I felt like a princess or better yet the queen. I live in a city where sometimes it can get overrun with tourists to the point of feeling claustrophobic. Son Net is the perfect retreat to reconnect with nature and oneself because it is very tranquil and peaceful. I have never felt so special, welcome and relaxed all at the same time. Son Net is a unique experience in every aspect and a hidden treasure." read more
