This is one of our favorite Disney Resorts! Gran Destino tower is relatively new and absolutely stunning. We had a standard room with two queen beds. It was super clean, comfortable, and magical. We enjoyed eating at the resort restaurants and spent most of our time at their huge pool. The grounds are gorgeous and there is so much to do and see. Service is phenomenal and you can't beat the proximity to the parks!

What ideas come to your mind when you think about what it means to have a great vacation/staycation? Some of the things you might think about are activities that everyone can enjoy, but also making it as stress-free as possible. A time that you can look back at and say: "That was a really good time, we should plan something like that again." Staying at the Coronado was like that, in particular the Gran Destino Tower. When we first arrived, we were greeted by a security guard who will ask you your name, and ID. Once he verified that we were guests, he told us where to drop off our things, where to park, and where to check in afterwards. I dropped off my family, went to park, and when I walked in, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of people waiting to check out. That particular day it seems the biolife company was on some retreat and I think the entire company was there. (This is very much a corporate meeting/retreat place as there's a convention center on the property) I thought it would take an hour in line just to reach the check in desk, but apparently they were all waiting to just check their bags and a cast member came out and quickly got the chaos organized. It showed me that they've dealt with situations like this before, and took care of it immediately. Ten minutes later I was checking in, no issues at all, and we were able to get a room despite being early. There are about 3 or 4 pools on the property, but the one everyone wants to go to is the main pool (Dig site pool I believe its called) It looks like a huge Mayan site, complete with a slide that is actually a lot of fun to go down even if you're not a kid! Before you know it, you'll have spent hours there. There's a bar right next to the pool that not only serves drinks but also offers, snacks, and light meals like chicken tenders, hummus and chips, that sort of thing. There's also a play yard right next to the pool where there's a ping pong table ,and a giant collect 4 set up as well. The place to eat while you're here is definitely Toledo. We were told by various people how good the food is, but unfortunately though Toledo was not open the days we were there so we ended up having dinner at Bridges restaurant and while the ambiance is really nice, the food could do with some improvement, at least what me and my mother ordered. We told the waiter about it though and he went above and beyond to fix things so overall we left satisfied. Our room at the tower was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and definitely this is a place I would stay at again as a staycation. It felt like a cruise without being on an actual ship, to give you a better idea. Till next time!

"Deluxe quality resort" at a "moderate resort" prices The entire hotel overall, plus our room itself was beautiful and immaculate. Especially with young children, we felt safer here at night going up to our room with all the interior hallways. Super cool new elevators. Nice pool. Close to both Hollywood Studios and Epcot (though you will still need to bus, drive or use rideshare) My only gripe is bus service. If you hate the Skyliner, this is a good place to stay because there's full bus service. However Gran Destino is the last stop zzzzzzzzzz Overall though will definitely choose this hotel again if staying on Disney Property!

During our most recent trip to WDW, my hubby and I stayed in the Gran Destino Tower at Disney's Coronado Springs. We stayed in a newly renovated room within the regular Coronado Springs property back in October 2020 and thought the room was the best of the moderate resorts. After staying in the Gran Destino Tower a few weeks ago, we were both so impressed and convinced we probably would need to stay (solely) in the tower in future visits to this property. The tower itself is not only new, but extremely modern, decorated well (just enough Disney accent without it being over saturated...loved all of the hidden Mickeys), and pristinely clean. The elevator is super high tech and the room itself reminded me of the junior versions of the rooms you would find in the Deluxe Hotels. With the parks closing earlier, spending time to relax in the room and resort felt like heaven being in a more upscale building/room like the Gran Destino Tower, especially with it not breaking the bank like the Deluxe properties. One major plus of staying in The Tower, is the convenience of accessing the transportation. It is literally right outside the main doors and down a few stairs. If you have stayed on a Disney property resort before, you know it is a gamble about where your room will be located in retrospect to the closest bus stop (or mode of transportation). This may seem petty, but when you've been walking all day at the park, getting to your room quickly makes a difference! Transportation to the parks and Disney Springs are only by bus. Keep in mind that although the bus stop is close to The Tower, Coronado Springs as a whole is a large property and the bus may make a few stops around the resort to pick up and drop off guests. Cast Members are extremely warm and friendly at this resort, especially those working in the Gran Destino Tower. All of the CMs we encountered went above and beyond to ensure our trip and stay were perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better stay at Coronado Springs and the Gran Destino Tower and can't wait to return.

Chronos Club (club level)
Mel B.

At Walt Disney World's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, if you book the club level room, it will cost you upwards of $900 a night - and includes access to the Royal Palm Club, an exclusive lounge that provides guests with rotating meals (think: continental breakfast, snacks, heavy apps, dessert and *adult beverages*) throughout the day, on each day of your stay. That's right. Every. Single. Day. It is the equivalent of being a guest in beast's castle (culinary cabaret not included). Each of the deluxe level resorts has an option to book club level. However, the Gran Destino Tower at the Coronado Springs resort is the first moderate level resort to offer club level rooms that provide the same amenities as the deluxe resorts, without breaking the budget. At a rate that goes as low as $400 - $600 per night, stock some complimentary Mickey ice cream bars in your mini fridge, and the room pays for itself.

Gran Destin Tower is a beautiful addition to Coronado Springs. It has beautiful Spanish inspired architecture with subtle touches of Disney. We only had a one night stay because that was the only day we could book it. It is the only moderate (so far) that has a club level and we were super excited to check it out. Our stay was the first week of October so the tower was relatively new. The entrance is grand with it's instagram-able walls that change colors are beautiful. We entered from the old entrance, but made our way to the tower from it's first floor. We arrived very early, 7:30, there was 1 or 2 concierge women to check hotel guests in, and it was not busy. We checked in, were given a floor number, but were told that our room wasn't quite ready. She was about to let us go to the park when we asked if we were given access to the club level. She had to check and when she verified we did have access, she took us to the Kronos Lounge. Pros: We were greeted initially by the woman at the concierge desk where she showed us the breakfast offerings. It was about 8 when we got our food and found a table. The breakfast was really good. The food in all courses was fantastic and allergy friendly. The bathrooms are very clean and the views from the lounge are beautiful. Cons: We noticed that other parties were offered mimosas or other mixed drinks throughout the day. Other parties were greeted by the concierge woman at the desk and given their rooms while we continued to wait patiently. When I finally went up to the woman to ask about our room, she told me she was helping another family and she was busy. We had to wait 6 hours for our room and we waited in the lounge the entire time. We were not rude, we didn't push, but we were not happy that others were doted on so much. I had to find our room number through the app and we did not get help from the Kronos concierge desk. Overall while I am disappointed with the level of service, I really enjoyed the room, the food, and the lounge. It is a great place to stay for a convention but it is not convenient for park-going with it's four bus stops (unless you have a car). I am giving it 4 because if we were staying as regular guests, our experience would have been fine. The room (when you eventually get one) is very nice and I like the new construction. The food is allergy friendly and very delicious and these things edge out the fact that the concierge service was horrible to us. Maybe it is because I went with my sister and we appear young, maybe it is because the tower is new-ish, but that should not excuse the fact that we paid good money to stay at the hotel and have access to club level service.

Great addition to the Disney resorts. My review and pictures were from a while back when it 1st open and was waiting for someone to make a page. Standing next to Coronado springs is the Gran Destino tower, beautiful tower full colors and art work..I never knew Walt Disney and Dalí were friends, pictures of them in spots around the hotel. Beautiful property,Restaurants, lounges amenities. This hotel caters to the business travelers a little more due to the convention center next door at Coronado springs, Not much for families since you share the pool next door with Coronado and it is an upgrade if you want to stay here. There is a lot of info about this hotel but I don't want to make it long, so yes nice hotel, great service ,yes Disney prices and enjoy. Only concern and I'm sure Disney is working on separating the Mexican feel of Coronado and the Spain feel of this property because it's still shares the Coronado name...so we shall see stay tuned ..for now enjoy the pictures ..

The DND door thing where you have to read the fine print.
Joannah Y.

First and foremost, the place looks great. Secondly, there's not much people so it's not a COVID breeding ground. The facilities are good but there is no room service. The bad: They have this DND sign that allows them to enter your room at any time they see fit. I was sleeping in when suddenly someone bangs on the door like they're the police. After knocking the guy opened the door and seeing the guard lock was flipped, he just hurled an envelope that turned out to be complimentary luggage tags. Fast forward 2 hours, there were 2 raps on the door and someone attempted to come in. I opened the door, the guy apologized and scampered away. WTF right? I called the FD. Spoke to Tate, voiced my complaint and remarked. I need to sleep today, so what do I do put a post out at the door that reads "Do not Fucking Disturb me?" He then said, I shouldn't be "cussing", him. I reiterated it was what I would write on the post it. After that, he deliberately called me sir, I didn't bite. He also then became condescending stating that I should've read the DND sign. Honestly, I've beenin so many hotels, who reads the DND sign anyway? He then said, if not I should Google it. I didn't take the bait either. I was saving it for Yelp lol. JK!. He then told me that a manager would contact me. I said fine. I told everything to the Housekeeping manager Dillon who was nice. Of course I told him everything, the banging, the suspicious staff leaving nothing, embellishing nothing. Dillon then explained that once a day they conduct visual security checks. He mentioned checking for weapons but honestly, who keeps weapons out on the open right? When I asked if they were opening bags, or course he said visual. 30 seconds tops. If I had weapons I wouldn't leave it out in the open.. So the point of discovering weapons or in the open would be what percent? Unless they look in your bags (Not that I had) just saying. So if you want to stay here, make sure you aren't in when they decide to "come in" for a security check. Remember: KEEP THAT DOOR LOCK THING FLIPPED. For those who are on your honeymoon, make sure you're not playing checkers when they come a knocking haha.

Isn't this Coronado Springs?

Yes, it's part of Coronado Springs Resort. It's the only moderate resort that has club level which is give or take, 100.00 cheaper than regular room rates at a deluxe resort at WDW.

Well, this hotel was fabulous. I literally only have two small-ish negative things to say, and it…read moreprobably doesn't affect everyone. PRO's: -Nicely sized rooms - not huge, but not small either. I was assigned to a room with two queen beds, but it was just me, so I had an extra bed to put luggage, etc. on. -HUGE bathrooms, including a separate shower and separate bathtub, and nice amenties. -Excellent customer service - I had some ice packs I needed them to hold on to, in their freezer, and they were able to do that at the bell hop desk for me. -Ridiculously nice pool area - I was staying here for a conference and brought a swimsuit just in case, but as soon as I got to my room the first day - which they upgraded me, to a pool/lake room view, even though I don't have status with Marriott - I knew I had to try out the pool and waterslides. Luckily I had a spare hour before my conference started so I literally ate lunch and then jumped on a water slide, ha. ----There are three water slides: one you require an inner tube for, and the other two you just lay back while on it. CONs: -The area between the toilet and the toilet paper roll is super small. I am not a small person so this is probably why I had an issue, but I ended up just taking the toilet paper off the roll, because it kept hitting my thighs when I unrolled it. -The shower has a handheld area you can use or just the regular shower top (? I forget the name for that). The regular top doesn't have great water pressure, so I ended up using the handheld thing and just keeping it pointed towards me. They have a sign up in the lobby saying that Forbes chose them as one of the nicest properties in the world, I believe, and I can see why. They also have a few restaurants on site, as well as a Starbucks, but most of my meals were included at my conference; I did get Doordash the first day I was there, though. Be aware that for the Starbucks you cannot order ahead on the app, though, and the lines are often long (especially with conferences going on, and there were two while I was staying there, including ours!). I would definitely stay at this hotel again - I wasn't paying for the bill this time but I believe it is rather pricey normally, though.

The JW Marriott definitely looks and feels like a high-end property. The hotel is polished,…read moreattractive, and has the upscale atmosphere you expect from the brand. That said, the price point is definitely on the high side, so expectations naturally go up with it. For me, the biggest disconnect was the service level, which felt more fair than exceptional. Nothing was terrible, but it did not really match the luxury pricing or the overall image of the property. When you are paying premium rates, you expect service that stands out, and this felt a little more average than memorable. Overall, it is a nice hotel, but at this price level I was hoping for a stronger service experience.

Nice and firm for a get night rest or a nap after being at the pool side for a few hours. Walk in closet big bathroom ,living room was cool as well. The rooms give you that old 1960 vibes with a modern touch. The resort also featured some old vintage 1960 cars similar to the TWA hotel at jfk airport. The resort had some nice places to go to. Me and my wife enjoyed the bowling alley. We had a lot of fun. Don't forget about the shops with all your favorite carton characters t shirts hats slippers you name it Star Wars, the minions the Simpsons fun for kids all ages. We also enjoyed the cabana cafeteria . I had a spicy chicken sandwich with fries my wife had chicken teriyaki lomein full of nice pieces of chicken ,Which she enjoyed .I also had some chicken tenders and fries from the cafeteria on our stay. We also ordered food from door dash while we were in the main lobby. We ordered shake shack which was cheaper ordering from door dash then buying food on the resort, smash burgers well done with cheese fries, for a little vacation cheat because I'm on a diet. By the way the order came really fast. Don The pool was great especially at night the view was amazing. With the lights shining on the pool and the really nice fire pit they had so you can even roast some marshmallows by it. Also the pool features a water slide for kids and adults. The blow up rafts were $9to17. You also could bring your own as well. You also had an ice machine with cold water free. Plus you had the soft drinks and soda all you can drink for $30 . That was the drink packed. Cabana bay resort also had a restaurant right next the pool outside. Where they had some really good chicken quesadillas with fries. My wife enjoyed that. . I went with the chicken wrap with lettuce and some veggies, It was great to eat pool side with the beach chairs equipped with the big umbrella for shade . Then you also had the lazy river at the resort. That featured a bigger water slide and pool . Bigger than the pool outside the main lobby. The staff was courteous and friendly the stay was fun. Just remember it's kinda pricey . But don't forget about all the theme parks you get to visit for $80 each way .

I have stayed at many resorts in Universal and I just have some mixed feelings about this…read moreparticular one. Check in, took 30+ mins long and we checked in online, but the online check desk was closed, which seemed odd. There were tons of people that were from out of town that looked tired, especially after going through airport securities/travel from their states and looked like they just wanted to get their room and go to sleep, but it seemed that there was no urgency from staff. They didn't look short staffed, but I saw other staff standing around with no lines at their kiosk with multiple areas for them to step in at check in- Which tells me that there needs to be some cross training encouraged to help their processing. Fun Fact: I rode two rides at Universal with my fast pass faster than checking in to our room. Room was clean, view was nice. We stayed on the top floor with the view of one of the pools, which was nice but I had not so much of a good first night due to the AC in the room not working properly and I'm a hot sleeper so I did not sleep well. I did address the issue in the morning and let the staff know about my issue and that I was gonna be gone for the day and they did fix my issue right away. The food was surprisingly mediocre, and they have four different restaurants you can eat from and we went to three of them, which seems to be the same style of food just spread out. The first night I had a Smashburger it looked very delicious, but then I found myself putting on basic ingredients on my burger, salt and pepper. If I did not, it would have not had any seasoning. The second night I went to the Brazilian steak eatery and as far as a quick steak to get, it was very delicious and they serve it with mashed potatoes and gravy, which was really delicious. I would recommend eating your meals at least for dinner there if you're going to eat in the in the resort. If you're looking cocktails, they have them and they're very delicious. Prices are high, but you get a quality drink. I think I just had a bad experience. I don't feel that everybody encounters what I encountered when they visit, but I would have given a 3 star rating if it wasn't for how convenient it is to get to the park, there's a shuttle that picks you up every 10 minutes and drops you off and when you're done at the park, it picks you up and takes you right back to the hotel. Beats paying $50 a day for parking at the parks, but you still have to pay for parking with your room which is significantly less. All-In-all it was good, but not great for my experience, I will probably attend a different resort next time, but as a local in Florida, we have that choice.

Safety NOT First at Disney?…read more It's midnight on day 1 of our 13 person biennial vacation with extended family and the fire alarm for our hotel just went off. My family, as well as the large group of guests that we evacuated with, ended up with traumatic experiences for our kids, a crowded/dangerous escape route, and an impression that safety came second here at Disney World. Upon hearing the fire alarm, my wife and I grabbed our still sleeping kids and headed to the closest stairway for our 4th floor room. The stairway was backed up with the large number of other people attempting to use it and it was here, where in addition to the loud repetitive klaxon alarm, we first heard an automated message repeatedly announcing "An emergency has been identified in the building." This seemed to give what was happening a bit more urgency and pushing among the group. When we eventually managed to evacuate from the hotel, we were met with a large group of guests standing immediately outside the building in the 41 degree temperatures with their own crying kids and no hotel employees. The group started moving away from the building, and a few minutes later, started getting sprayed by landscaping sprinklers that were set on timers. ~10 minutes after the fire alarm started, the only employees we did see outside were a person hosing down the pool area and an employee leaving the closed for the night Geyser Point Bar and Grill carrying what looked like a bag of food for themselves. The "friends," standing outside of the loud flashing building in the cold with their crying kids, were now none of their concern and not as important as their food or pool washing duty. About 15 minutes after the alarm started, people started hunkering down at the Raging Forks Bar and Grill when the first employee showed up and very quietly informed us that the fire department was enroute and to hang out. A separate employee came to turn on the heat lamps but before those worked, we were allowed back into the hotel. My disappointment isn't that there was a midnight fire alarm, it's that as people's kids were having a scary experience at "the happiest place on earth," Disney rather than showcasing their contingency training and focus on their "friends," was quiet as a mouse.

Express lines still had a wait, but it was a fraction of the regular line. The hotel was BEAUTIFUL. Everything was well kept and clean. The hotel room and bathroom are extremely spacious. Easy access to the parks! We took a boat ride in the morning and evening to and from the hotel. Cons Something to keep in mind is the hotel is GIANT. I think it's a good thing, but others may not like it if they are trying to get around quickly. I ordered an uber in the morning and it took almost 10 minutes for me to get from my room to the front. Don't order an uber from your room and wait for them to arrive. You should make your way down to the lobby before their arrival or you will miss your ride. The line for the boat at the end of the night from the park was very long. It took about 3 pick ups before it was our turn. I wish they had more boats running at night between the hotel and park. We left the park at around 7pm so I can only imagine the even bigger wait when the park is closing. Overall, absolutely lovely stay! If I am ever able to return, I would need to check out their pool because I hear it's amazing.

Turning the handle to full hot delivers cold water, while hot water only appears when the handle is barely turned on -- completely counterintuitive compared to every other shower in the world. Suggestions to fix this: 1) Notify guests at check-in about affected rooms 2) Install clear, waterproof instructions in the shower 3) Ultimately, repair or replace the faulty system 4) Fire the hotel manager who allows this flawed system to be used by guest. Checkout was equally frustrating. Their new software caused multiple billing errors, including triple-charging state tax per night. Double-check your bill carefully. On the positive side, (and it pains me to say it) the hotel is very clean and the staff are genuinely friendly -- especially Jose at the outdoor bar. As an international pilot who stays in hotels worldwide, I won't be returning to this one.

The jogging trail and overall scenery are genuinely beautiful and make it feel like a relaxing escape after long park days. The freestyle soda machines were a nice perk, and the food quality exceeded expectations--it felt thoughtfully prepared rather than typical cafeteria-style resort food. Our room was very clean, which always makes a big difference, and the variety of transportation options to the parks was convenient and flexible. For what we paid, the value felt fair, especially considering the amenities. The pool area was also a highlight, and throughout our stay, the employees were consistently professional and helpful. The on-site laundry room was another underrated bonus--it made it easy to head home without a pile of laundry waiting. That said, there were a few drawbacks. We did notice gnats occasionally making their way into the room, which was frustrating. Transportation to Magic Kingdom in particular was inconsistent--the bus took a long time and caused us to miss early entry one morning. One bus driver interaction also stood out, as we were repeatedly corrected about our stroller not being "fully folded" (even though it was), along with strict direction on where we could stand or sit. Additionally, depending on your room location, the walk to Centertown Market can be quite long and inconvenient. The resort is also a bit far from any off-property convenience stores if you need to grab last-minute items, and the lack of a fitness center may be a downside for some guests. Overall, despite a few inconveniences, this was a fun and enjoyable place to stay. The positives definitely outweighed the negatives, and I would recommend it--and would stay here again.

When a vacation room has a door that faces the outside of the property I defined that as a motel and so that perception was immediately disappointing. We also experienced a lot of bugs coming in and out of the room and since you weren't in an interior space, traditional to a hotel, it contributed to having to walk through them. The resort is big in the pool area was nice. Getting from our room to the common area with food and gift shops seemed quite a distance, especially for us with a younger family. Travel to and from the park was convenient, although like any resort, very busy during peak times. Having visited other Disney resorts and resorts outside of the park, we would no longer choose to stay at the Caribbean beach resort.

I experienced a small issue with my Bonvoy account, and Robert Madison immediately stepped in to assist. He handled everything professionally and courteously, making the process smooth and stress-free. When my business in Orlando was unexpectedly extended, I needed to add an extra night to my stay. Once again, Robert Madison made the arrangement effortless and ensured I could remain in the same room without any inconvenience. Robert Madison truly exemplified the level of service and hospitality that the Ritz-Carlton is known for. His outstanding customer service is a major reason I will choose to stay here again in the future. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

The servers were always really nice and attentive and made sure we had towels and the works. We also love that the pool here is heated as it does get windy and chilly in November in Orlando, believe it or not. The pool side menu was also great as they had a variety of stuff like chicken fingers, burgers, chips and salsa/queso. Overall, our stay was 10/10 no notes.
