We had a fantastic experience with Kevin from start to finish…read more We had a leak showing up in our laundry room and were having a tough time figuring it out since it wasn't happening when we were doing laundry and it only happened certain times when it rained, not all the time. My husband attempted to find the leak when looking at the pipes in the attic, cutting out part of the wall in the laundry room to make sure no pipes behind the washer/dryer were having issues, but eventually came to the conclusion that it could potentially be rain coming into the dryer vent which is on our roof - so if we had an extremely hard rain that came in a crazy angle, our wall was getting wet. So I researched around for someone and came across the reviews for McToolman. Kevin was quick to respond, set up an initial consultation that worked with our schedules, and send us a quote. We were fine with the quote and scheduled for Kevin to make the fix. Kevin came as scheduled and made the repair very quickly. We have had no issues since and appreciate the great job we received in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. I would highly recommend Kevin with McToolman!

J.B. is top notch - responded quickly, came out on very short notice which is initially why we went…read morewith him over others; but he quickly impressed beyond just response and scheduling time by going above and beyond in every other category. Justus was extremely thorough, took time cleaning very messy gutters, roof, and making sure the yard was cleaned up as well and was out here for several hours. He still stuck to the quote. Extremely affordable, which is surprising these days given the work was great as well. It is great to see folks who still do great work and don't try to get as much as they can out of you up to the last penny beyond which they think you are likely to say no. Justus also mentioned one corner he couldn't get up to (we knew this because no one can, but he is the first to mention it and still got it clear without actually walking up the steep roof pitch) - this further sealed my confidence in hiring J.B. as honesty/integrity are crtitical. I anticipate going with J.B. going forward, and telling our friends about him as well!

I hired Jacob Jackson for repair to some framework, minor drywall repair, painting (touch-up, no…read morecolor chances), door refinishing, floor cleaning, and other minor repairs to window blinds and screens. He was later than our scheduled times because: 1. His wife had errands to run and he needed to stay with their children. 2. It was hot and he took his kids to the water park. 3. He took his wife to the dentist. He left during the work to: 1. Buff a friend's truck. 2. Fix another customer's plumbing problem. 3. Meet his wife and son who was getting a haircut. Some of the repairs he made were OK, but much of the work was not professional looking. His painting was awful. Paint was dripped on the baseboards, slopped on the trim, and smeared on the floor. I had to repaint the baseboards and trim. The floors were not adequately cleaned. After he left, I spot clean the carpet and redid the hardware and tiled floors. He was not true to his stated prices. He exaggerated the scope and the hours of his work to inflate his bill. Jacob seems sincere and anxious to work, but he is more interested in over charging than providing good service at a fair price. Do not fall victim to this unethical handyman. Post review: Response to reply. The wife's reply is not factual. I never met or spoke with her and to my knowledge, she never came to the home so her accounting of what I said or what was done is not first hand. The work was spread over a week, but none of the days were full days. The water slide work delay mentioned was not on the 4th of July. Her husband took the kids to Carowinds water park that day -- a different outing. His last work day was the 3rd. I never said do the work and I'll pay. There was no final walk through; no expression of satisfaction with the totality of the work. She is repeating her husband's exaggerated work claims. For example, "trenching" was scrapping some mulch from in front of a drainage exit: "screen repair" was replacing one screw that was missing for one of the screens to attach to. And the floor cleaning: I was going to hire Stanley Steamer when Jacob said he had a guy who would do the carpet for $69, claiming that I would get a discounted price due to the volume of work I was having done and the hope of establishing an on-going relationship. Jacob also said that his wife wanted to do the hardwoods and tiled floors at cost for the same reasons. He then claimed that the carpet cleaning guy could do the other floors for less that his wife. On the final invoice, he charged $550 for the floor cleaning. He claimed 5 hours of service. The cleaner was there for 2.
